Save On Cleaners

I have been using this cleaners for over a year and can only complain about the tailoring– the cleaning is excellent! I do not understand all the complaints! I collect antique silk handmade clothing and was leary to take them here but not anymore!
Unlike most budget dry cleaners, their work is on premise so they can ‘specialize’ as others cannot.
I recently brought in a VERY old kimono that had probably sat on a shelf accumulating dust for decades. When it was cleaned here, I could see the dust was rearranged but not removed. Save On redid the cleaning and it looks great!
Five stars for cleaning, one for over priced, inaccurate, always late, tailoring. Go to Van’s for tailoring!

Ive had two shirts ruined in as many months. The first time I gave it a slide. Looked like a burn. Nobody is perfect. Now I have another men’s shirt ruined with bright yellow spots. The people at the counter don’t care. This is a huge operation and losing my business certainly won’t hurt them. They are cheap and fast but you get what you pay for. As usual.

Recently all of my dress shirts come back with stained collars. I wear an undershirt every time and have my shirts cleaned after one use (which is usually just for about 5 or 6 hours). They said that over time, shirts just start to look that way. My question is this: if I have bought brand new shirts and have them cleaned after one use and wear an undershirt, and they clean it each time, shouldn’t there not be a dirt buildup? They said the remedy was to always dry clean instead of launder my shirts which over the course of a year would cost me an extra $ 500+ so that doesn’t make sense for me. Shirts also returned with previously broken buttons. They said they haven’t changed their cleaning procedures but my shirts are looking like I would be better served finding a new dry cleaner.

This is about the third time that I have picked up my cleaning and it reeks with a chemical smell. I mentioned this to the owner in the past who said they were «adjusting» the chemicals. It does not happen all the time and I’m not being over sensitive. My clothes are outside airing out which helps sometimes. The first time it happened, I did not air out my clothes and actually got a rash. The manager told me to tell them to tell the clerks to make a note to make sure they did not have a strong chemical smell. I should not have to do this. I decided to go somewhere else.

The worst service in the world. They ruined my blanket and then want to charge me to fix it. Do not go here ever! You can find much better than this around the Monterey area.

I took three tablecloths here and when I brought them home one was covered in dog hair and another had a new stain. I took it back and they asked if it had dog hair before I brought it in. I said no and the other white tablecloth was fine. My husband just picked it up from a do over and it is awful.

Worst dry cleaning company I have EVER been to! They lost clothing of ours twice, once it was found, second time is still hasn’t turned up, had them sew a new patch on my husband uniform and asked to have the old one kept, they didn’t keep the old patch and only did half of what they were supposed to, no intention to fix it either. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s a joke. I understand things happen, but this many times? Come on, get it together.

BAD EXPERIENCE 2 out if 3 VISITS! I had used the Salinas Save On & was THRILLED every time, sad to say — these two are NOT affiliated! First time, everything was fine… 2^nd time, I accidentally left my husbands paperwork & name tag in his pockets, apparently his now tie also — when I picked up the pants, the contents were still in the pockets & REEKED of cleaning fluid and the name tag was missing. They repeatedly argued with me telling me they ALWAYS empty the pockets, citing «policy», right up until I told them I PULLED THE CONTENTS FROM THE POCKET MYSELF. Upon returning to FIND the name tag (you get written up if you show up to work without it), they were unconcerned about it being missing & wanted till the next day to find it. Long story short, after pressing them & leaving — they found the name tag, but too late for hubby to take it to work as he’d already left.
3^rd time — tried to pick up his shirt & was simply informed it had to be «re-​cleaned» — I dropped it off purposefully to get it by the next day as hubby needed it for his uniform. They finally fetched the shirt after being «pressed» for info once again only to show me DIRT marks all across the front & a faded blue hue all over the right side if the shirt — neither which were there when I brought it in. NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!! They DO NOT CARE about you or your things!

Best priced cleaners in the local area. $ 2.95 garment with cash pre-​pay, $ 3.25 pay with card. Always have my garments ready by 4 p.m. next day (or same day if dropped off by 10 a.m.). Consistently good customer service. They have a place to recycle hangers. I haven’t found anyone as good. Some reviewers placed this business in Seaside — it’s actually in Sand City, near Costco.

This store is under new ownership as of this year and they have definitely improved for the best.
I took a peacoat that I got at a buy one get one free same (it was the «free» item) to an alterations center in Carmel to get the back lining sewed up and they charged me $ 25! I could have done a better job for less! Although they were close to my house, I decided I wouldn’t use them again.
Save-​On was recommended to me so I decided to give them a try. I brought a pair of jeans in that got a hole in the back, and the guy working the front was super kind and told me it wouldn’t be perfect, bit they’ll do their best. It couldn’t have been worse than the hole so I had nothing to lose. I picked up the jeans two days later and they looked perfect! Brand new and you could never tell there was a hole. And it only cost $ 5!
I bring all my clothes here for dry cleaning and alterations. Fantastic job, good customer service and you can’t beat the price. Try it out.

I had a really bad experience here today. I took in an item that I’ve had cleaned many times before (although not here).
When I came to pick it up, they told me it would be extra because of the material. I guess they didn’t realize it when I dropped it off, but it was no biggie at all! A few bucks didn’t matter :) I gave them cash on top of the pre-​paid amount I gave them at drop off. When they brought me the item, a white SuperDry vest, it seriously looked like they DIDN’T CLEAN IT AT ALL. I’ve never had this happen before. It sill had the stain I dropped it off with and overall just had those dirt creases that you can see on something white when it needs to be cleaned. I totally understand not all stains come out (although it was a really faint one), but something wasn’t right here at all.
The worst part though was how the owner treated me. He had a horrible attitude and reminded me of talking to a teenager. He said the label said «dry clean only» and I should try washing it. He said he didn’t see any reason that fabric couldn’t be washed but he’d have to «call me and ask» if he were to do that. Not sure why he didn’t then — guess it was too much trouble? I was really kind, but made it clear that I wasn’t happy and wish I hadn’t paid if it couldn’t come clean. He just kept shrugging his shoulders and saying «the work was already done» as if that meant he couldn’t offer a refund. I said very nicely, «it seems silly to lose a customer over $ 6» and he shrugged his shoulders again. He literally didn’t care one bit. Maybe they get a lot of one stop shoppers and it’s enough to keep them going?
Overall, the customer service got me most upset. I’m a business owner and I literally can’t imagine not caring or trying at all to be fair to a customer, especially one that was really calm and nice about things. Mistakes in business happen and I totally get that — but to just take money and not care isn’t ethical at all.
Next time I’ll drive the extra few miles to go to another cleaner instead of go for convenience and price. You totally get what you pay for here.

This place has horrible customer service! I paid $ 20 to have a rug cleaned on site. First I was told that the owner would call me if it had to be sent out. I never got a call and went in a few days later to check on the rug — it hadn’t been cleaned. I asked if someone could call me about the rug. No call came, of course. I went in a few days later to check on the rug — and it was wrapped in plastic. I was told it was clean and after checking on one corner which did look ok… I paid for the cleaning. Big mistake! I took the rug home to discover it did not look like it had been cleaned at all and still had a large area of gray carpet (it’s an ivory rug so the dirt is very apparent) as well as hairs all over the rug! I went in to personally talk to them about the rug AGAIN and also lifted the heavy thing into my car AGAIN to show it to them. I had a polite but somehow sweetly condescending employee tell me that for $ 20, they don’t pre-​treat the stains (I was aware of that, I consider all-​over dirt is different than a stain) and that she would have the owner call me to «explain how things work around here.» Of course he never called back, and when I called today they put me on hold for minutes! I hung up and tried calling back. The line was busy for at least 10 minutes before I gave up. I feel that I’ve really been mistreated by this business. If I don’t get a response soon, I’m thinking of calling the Better Business Bureau and complaining.

I have been a customer for 11 months and have used Save On every two weeks and have had Exceptional service as well as affordable pricing. The new ownership and staff are friendly and helpful!

I came in to drop off a couple simple items and was met with terrible customer service from the moment I walked in. Not only will you have to park somewhere near Costco and carry your garment far across the parking lot but you’ll rarely be greeted. At best they’ll look up and nod their heads at you, as if you’re supposed to be the ones helping them. I understand this is a cheap place but the customer service is terrible. I had left my check at home and when I asked if I could leave and go get the check I was interupted mid-​sentence by a pretencious young manager who told me «if i can’t afford cleaning I shouldn’t come in» without offering a solution or letting me even explain that I had left my payment. Totally rude and disrespectful both Azarel and Jeff the «manager».

we’ve had nothing but good experiences here. Each time i’ve been here the staff has been nothing but friendly and helpful, when I have multiple items they have always offered to help me to my car. the lady that does alterations is fantastic, her work is impeccable and you can tell she puts time and effort into it. I would recommend this place

The name has changed, everything else remains the same. Previously Economy Cleaners, not much has changed with Save On Cleaners. The prices are still minimal at best (2.95 per garment cleaned/​pressed) and the service is still what you would expect from a dry cleaning establishment.
I have never experienced any of the complaints that have been posted here. The staff isn’t exactly jumping over their counter to serve you, but they aren’t rude either. This place does a pretty substantial job with cleaning and starching my clothes, so this will likely continue to be my go-​to cleaners.

Fair warning to readers: I AM SO FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW! JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH MANAGER OR OWNER (STUART) WHO ACTUALLY HUNG UP ON ME BECAUSE HE REFUSED TO DEAL WITH THE MISTAKE THAT HIS COMPANY MADE!!!
I have gone to Economy Cleaners serveral times for their low prices but am so upset that I did. The last time I took in my dry cleaning was after I was interviewing for my new job months ago. I picked up the 4 or 5 items and brought them to my car, took a quick glance to make sure it was all there, and put it in my closet. Weeks ago I went to grab my favorite black blazer, which I only wear on certain occasions, to find that the black blazer in my plastic wrapping was not mine at all, but actually a cheap looking 8 petite! THEY LOST MY BLAZER!!! As you could imagine I freaked.
I called the cleaners and spoke with a young man who told me to bring in the blazer. I brought it in and felt like I was getting the blame! The young girl there gave me this ‘tude, «So you don’t know who helped you?» «You don’t know when you brought it in?» REALLY?! I guess I should write down the names of every customer service agent who helps me in day to day life, and really, the exact date that I brought in dry cleaning months before? Give me a break! LIKE I SCREWED UP? I DON’T THINK SO!
The young man there was actually very nice. He listened to my issue and was very sympathetic. He actually reassured me that they would pay for the jacket if they could not find it. He then said when a manager was there I would get a call back… I never did.
I called 2 weeks later (plenty of time for them to consider a course of action) and spoke with Stuart. What a horrible experience! First, he said he «couldn’t recall» anyone bring the issue to his attention. He asked me about the situation but he kept cutting me off when I talked! I’m usually very calm but I had to actually tell him that if he would just let me finish talking he would hear the story! I’ve never experienced ANYTHING like it in my life with someone in the customer service biz! Then, after I was able to finish, again I was blamed for not knowing the specific date that I brought the blazer in. I understand that a date would be helpful but HELLO! TAKE A LITTLE RESPONSIBILITY PEOPLE!
He ended up telling me that he was not willing to look through their receipts to find who may have ended up with my blazer. He offered me store credit. SERIOUSLY?! I was very pissed off, but stayed calm and told him, «with all due respect, why would I want to bring my dry cleaning to a place that lost one of my items?» He was rude and short and told me that he wasn’t willing to argue with me and hung up the phone…
I just don’t understand how they let this happen. All my other items that I picked up at the same time were correct. How did the one item get mixed up and the others all stay together? And couldn’t this Stuart guy just say «Sorry, we messed up».
So here I am. Writing this horrid review… I was hoping they would do something redeeming before I had to write anything but I have no choice. I have no blazer, no solution, they won’t even try to find it. And not even an offer to refund the dry cleaning cost!
Anyways, they never did a great job. 2 of my black dresses I got back have these tiny white cotton balls on them that weren’t there before… not that big of a deal, understandable to me because it’s a cheap place. I would have let that all slide if this NIGHTMARE never happened.
If you go here, do so with extreme caution. Get the names of those who help you, write down all the dates and times that you go in, and CHECK YOUR ITEMS! Apparently you can’t simply trust people to do there jobs anymore… sad.

Everyone in Monterey County goes to Economy Cleaners just because their prices are lower than the average neighborhood dry cleaners. If he’s there, owner Stuart Pressman (or the clerk) will advise you on whether or not to repair an item if he/​they feel the price they’ll have to charge is too expensive for the prices Economy Cleaners generally charges. Alterations and shoe repairs are done on site too. There’s no reason to take your dry cleaning items anywhere else except Economy Cleaners.

In high school (10 plus years ago) this was the place to take your clothes. Apparently, prices are soaring, whose prices aren’t? Men’s collared shirts are usually pretty cheap, I just don’t get why they have to charge so much more for a female version of the same darn shirt.
