Saw Dr. Filice for my first, and only, root canal. It was nicely done. My spouse recently had one as well, also with good results. Dr. Filice, Jenn and Patty are all very pleasant and responsive. We wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Great knowledgeable doctor, kind and attentive staff. It was my first experience with a endodontics that I felt I got treated and cared for with empathy. I would definitely come back and recommend this dentist. In terms of pricing, I think it is a little on overpriced side but it is worth it! Very accomodating Office is clean, but parking could be tricky to find, so arrive little earlier.

I had a tooth die on Christmas day while I was visiting my parents in San Ramon(I’m from southern California). I called my parents dentist and he referred me to Dr Filice. He took me on short notice and the procedure(a root canal) went as smooth as possible — even smoother than most basic fillings I’ve had. The anesthesia starting wearing off as I was leaving and I still had to drive home and eat before I could take any pain medication, so he offered to give me more anesthesia so that I could ‘buy some time’ which I thought was nice. It’s been 24 hours since my procedure and I have no pain, discomfort, swelling, nothing. I am very impressed with Dr Filice and I would recommend him to anyone in need of a root canal in the East Bay area. The negative review regarding the $ 700 deductible is a bit unfair in my opinion — which is why I take Unilocal reviews with ‘a grain of salt’ to begin with. At least he said the procedure was done well, that’s the important part. It’s your responsibility to understand the details of your insurance policy — or at least ask«how much will this cost out of pocket»

Dr. Filice is a superb endodontist. Another dentist attempted to put a crown on a cracked tooth where the nerve had become inflamed, and the process was extremely painful, because the tooth apparently could not be completely numbed. After two weeks of incessant pain I was referred to Dr. Filice for a root canal. Based on the stories I’d heard from friends, I was very apprehensive. As in, terrified. But Dr. Filice scheduled enough time to do the job right. He and his assistant took plenty of time and conducted tests to make sure all the nerves were truly deadened.(In other words, the tooth could be deadened, it just took some patience and skill). At that point, he was able to finish up the root canal quickly. Afterward I had so little pain that a couple of ibuprofen got me through the rest of the day. He even gave me a follow-up telephone call to make sure I was doing okay. His staff is friendly and supportive and patient. They are such a great team I almost wish I needed another root canal so I could go back(no, just kidding). I would highly recommend him to anyone.
