Rachel is wonderful to work with. I ordered a barn birthday cake, animal cake pops, and cookies for my sons and 1^st birthday. Quick response, great price, and delicious goodies! Very talented!

Rachel did an amazing job on my wedding cake and cake pops! I sent her pictures from Pinterest and she made the cakes exactly the same! She is so responsive via emails, and her price is so reasonable. I didn’t get the chance to try the lavender flavor cake pop, it’s all gone when I tried to save one at the wedding. It was so popular! I will definitely go back to her if I want to order cakes or deserts in the future! Thanks again Rachel!

We requested a Winnie the Pooh cake for my daughter’s 2^nd birthday. It turned out adorable and the strawberry cake with vanilla filling was delicious! So naturally made and not too sweet, that’s what really made the difference. The quality of ingredients was definitely obvious. So great.
I also loved how easy it was to communicate with Rachel and how attentive to detail she was. She made sure to get the cake delivered when I needed it and made great recommendations.

I ordered 30 cupcakes and a birthday cake for my son’s birthday party in August. They are customized in Batman and Spiderman themes. My 4 years old and his friends loved them very much. I communicate with Rachel in the office via email. She always replied to my emails promptly. Absolutely love their service and products.

Rachel, was wonderful, to work with! Even though I contacted her at almost the last minute, she made time for me and found a way to make the cake my daughter dreamed of! And, it tasted great! So many gluten free cakes can be dry, but this one was rich and moist. Thanks, Rachel!

UPDATE Aug 31, 2015: I am in the process of taking legal action against Powered Sugar Bake Shoppe for causing me emotional distress by publicizing my private information in their outrageous comments and refusing to comply with Unilocal’s privacy policies. I have reported this business to Unilocal as well. In the meantime while Unilocal is investigating them, due to the grief caused by Rachel’s comments, I had to delete my previous review and post a new one. Please be very careful with these guys esp Rachel. Note that Rachel’s name is published on their website and therefore, whether or not this is her real name, I have the right to use it when referring to her business. If you are considering doing business with them, I recommend you do not provide your name, address etc. or any private information to her. Contact them as anonymous for enquiries, if possible. If things don’t work out, the business owner — Rachel — is a real bully and leaves no stone unturned to cause grief to her customers, which is what she did with me. She had no problem violating Unilocal’s privacy policies to harass and bully me as her customer — what a shame that such businesses exist. I absolutely do not recommend this place.

Aug 23, 2015: I reached out to this bakery after reading their Unilocal reviews.
I wanted them to make two cakes for our first child’s first birthday (once in a lifetime event) — one a normal birthday party cake, another a smash cake. Rachel was all excited and jumpy in her emails and wanted me to pay immediately for these cakes and then decide on the flavors, frosting, gluten-​free etc. In her emails she kept pressurizing me to pay without giving me any information especially on the smash cake. I wanted the smash cake to be particularly special but Rachel completely ignored my questions about the smash cake. Before telling me anything she wanted our money and sent over the invoice first thing. I have posted a screenshot of the invoice. I called to speak with her and make sure they are a legit business because all my interaction with her was online but she wouldn’t answer my calls. I was reluctant to give my money to someone I can only interact with online, and who is promising me that she’ll make these cakes for me but at the same time pressurizing me to pay without confirming what I want.
Also, having gluten allergies, I know that gluten free baking is hit or miss. Some gluten free cakes taste terrible, so I wanted to make absolutely sure these special cakes would taste as good as they claim. So I asked to taste the flavors in the form of cupcakes, which I am happy to pay for, and her response is «That’s fine. Er… I’m pretty booked so we may have to squeeze it in on a Monday or Tuesday sometime in the near future» — after that she happily confirms via email saying she can totally squeeze me in on Saturday and/​or Sunday.
I wait till Saturday hoping that she will deliver but there is no response from her and she doesn’t deliver. Frustrated but still patient, I finally reach out to her asking for an update, and I was extremely friendly, talking about how great her cakes are and how I’m so looking forward to trying them. By that point she has made us wait for one whole week and we have already ran out of time to order from a different bakery who are not only professional but reputable and can deliver on time as promised.
Concerned that she is going to beat around the bush on delivery, we offered to pick up these cupcakes on Sunday. Her response was even more confusing and unprofessional: «Oh you don’t have to do that! Well, I’ll think of a time… not too sure yet as my boys and I have some grocery and last-​minute back-​to-​school shopping to do at some point. However, my address is _​_​_​_​_​_​. I’m making them right now so let me think and get back to you soon. And thank you! Not to toot my own horn, but the chocolate cupcakes are (so I’ve been told) excellent. «
Her first sentence suggests she doesn’t want me to pick up, then her next sentence gives us a pick up address and says she will think of a time. But she is not too sure of the time because she has to do grocery shopping and last minute back to school shopping. These guys seriously need to get out of this business because they have no concept of honoring their word, customer service, or how to earn business.
I feel these guys are nothing but a bunch of crooks who are highly unprofessional and never honor their word. They wasted a week of our time with vague responses and stringing us along while we urgently needed to order the cakes.
If you want to pay in advance for cakes you know nothing about, or if you want to be strung along while you try to make all the arrangements for your special event, this is the business for you.
We ended up ordering cakes from a wonderful and well-​known gluten-​free bakery in Danville (highly rated on Unilocal as well) who not only treated us with respect and honored their word, but provided an amazing customer service.

~ Rachel was Amazing to work with! She was so patient and kind while helping me custom design our Birthday Cake!!! We did a Photo Collage Cake with a White Frosting, Chocolate Cake and Almond Coconut Filling!!! It was such a great service that she also Delivers and the prices were good!!! Our Family was so happy with the cake and seeing all of our Family pics on the cake!!! It made the Birthday a true success! We will definitely be ordering from here again!!! ~

So far so good!!! I am special ordering donuts from Rachel at Powered Sugar for my wedding. The big day has not come yet, but the communication and transaction with Rachel has been great so far! I will be back to rate the delivery and product, after the wedding! Can’t wait!!!

The Powered Sugar team provided cupcakes that were a big hit for our firehouse birthday party. The process was really easy, stress-​free and we were able to quickly coordinate an order. The delivery was right on time. Oh yeah, the cupcakes were delicious!

Found her through Unilocal,everyone was right about her talents. So good at communicating and customer service. We all had fun at the party, the cake and cake pop definitely came a photo booth.

When I was little, I thought birthday cake was absolutely revolting. Crazy, right? But aside from my mom’s cakes, my only experience with them were those bunk tasting artificial bombs of dry flour-​y hatred picked up from the nearest grocery store and decorated with frosting that tasted like it was made with plastic and aqua net.
Kids today are spoiled. They’ll never have to experience that frosted awfulness, thanks to indie bakers like the Powered Sugar ladies. And even though I live in Calgary, seeing all their Instagram posts made me want any and all excuses to order one of their well-​crafted handmade works of art. Powered Sugar sources the best quality ingredients possible for your thigh insulators. So when a friend’s birthday came up, I thought it was the perfect time to finally give these ladies some love.
Ordering on their site, even on an iPhone, was a breeze. Each treat has its own page, complete with a photo and ingredient listing. You can even make special delivery requests (I asked for the recipient to be sung to– hey, it doesn’t hurt to ask). Another great thing about PS: GF and vegan options! Even though I placed my order fairly late in the evening, I got a response right away. They use PayPal for billing, which is always a plus for me.
Rachel also made sure to coordinate with me, so that we knew the birthday dude would be home to receive his cupcakes filled with butterscotch, bacon and beer (basically, I tried to pick the manliest option on the site). She was punctual and sent me a photo for delivery confirmation, and the recipient confirmed that they were scrumtralescent.
Definitely try these ladies out, if you live in the Bay Area, or have friends and family that do! Their prices are beyond reasonable, so for the same price that you would pay for an aqua net cupcake, why not give them a try? Order cake pops and doughssants in your underwear and have them delivered right to your door! Also, they have a Unilocal coupon!

I had the best experience with my daughter’s birthday party. Rachel was so easy to talk to and really listened to what I wanted my cake pops to look like. She responds so promptly and her prices can’t be beat. And she delivered right to my front door. Her cake pops were not only delicious, but so beautiful they made me tear up seeing them. Perfect addition to my daughter’s dessert table. I’m going to use her for all my upcoming events and would definitely refer friends n family.

On a whim, ordered a dozen cake pops for my daughter’s birthday. We already had a cake but she wanted pink and Costco doesn’t do all pink frosting (it did have pink flowers on it and she still loved it).
The menu on the web site is very impressive. I was so tempted to go for some of the more creative, adult flavors but managed to stick to my mission of pink and chose strawberries and cream. Cake pops were delivered to my door with a smile. I’m just outside the 5 mile pickup range but delivery was only 5 $ extra. They were very professional looking and very pretty. My daughter did not want to share!
So how did they taste? Well I managed to sneak a bite and they taste as advertised. Like strawberries and cream. Very moist and flavorful. Not my favorite flavor personally but the kids LOVED them!
We are definitely going to order some of the more creative items for future occasions. The prices are very reasonable. One dozen cake pops cost $ 14. $ 19 for beautiful cake pops to be delivered to my doorstep? Hell yeah!
