1st Impression Synthetic Lawns & Greens, a Diamond Certified company, specializes in the installation of residential and commercial synthetic grass lawns, putting greens, bocce ball, sporting courts, sports fields, playgrounds, dog areas and more! We are a full-​service installation landscape company that specializes in synthetic turfs. Our synthetic grasses are non-​toxic, made in the USA and lead free. 1st Impression is a highly qualified and established team with many years of experience working with all aspects of landscape construction. We serve all of Contra Costa County and portions of Alameda County.

History

Established in 2003.

Established in January 2003, 1st Impression was formed as a building and landscape construction company. In 2008, our customer requests for synthetic grass installations increased. Our workmanship and attention to detail led to a number of referrals for our installation services. As growing environmental concerns became a priority in the minds of many, 1st Impression met the demand and expanded our business. Today we serve not only the residential community, we also serve many commercial entities, such as hospitals, schools, apartment complexes, sporting facilities and large commercial properties.

Business Owner

Jason Webb, Owner & President, has been a proud business owner in the landscaping & building construction industry for 20 years. Jason was an enthusiastic 19 year old when he started his landscaping career, while also being a volunteer firefighter. At the age of 24, Jason became a full time firefighter/​paramedic, demonstrating integrity, strong work ethic, & responsibility. He kept his hands in the construction industry part time while with the Fire Dept. & continued to polish the skills needed to perform the highest level of workmanship. The continued experience expanded his passion for the construction trades. In 2002, Jason felt it was time to truly pour his heart into his business & bring it to the highest possible level. He obtained his contractors license, built a number of homes, additions, & performed numerous remodels & complete landscapes. As he watched the synthetic grass industry start to grow, he saw the need for a professionally run installation company built on integrity

Working with 1st Impression was such a breeze. Angel walked us through the whole process, and answered my endless questions in a timely manner. I used CaliforniaFIRST, a program in the Bay Area that finances energy efficient upgrades to our house. 1st Impression and CaliforniaFIRST worked together to get all the numbers, and all I had to do was read and sign. They started work a few days later. I got a quote for our front and back yard. It was more cost effective per square foot to do both yards, so we went with that. They were in and out within 5 days. They started early in the morning (around 7:30am) until it got dark. I was impressed with how efficient they were, especially since I just finished dealing with some very flaky concrete workers.
The yards look GREAT. We have gotten so many compliments from our neighbors. They were nice enough to cut the grass around some stepping stones in the back yard (see picture), free of charge. And in the front they measured out and dug the area for a pathway we laid down afterward (see picture).
Some benefits of going with this company include a 10 year turf warranty, American made products, easy transaction, and great communication. I highly recommend them!

Jason came highly recommended by our son and daughter-​in-​law who were very pleased with their Danville backyard synthetic grass which not only was it great looking, but also safe for their dogs. We received several bids from other companies before we finally decided on 1st Impression & we couldn’t be happier — «Best Decision» we’ve ever made! Jason was professional, gave excellent suggestions on our huge front and back yard, best price, and we couldn’t be happier. The timing couldn’t be better for us due to the drought and watering restrictions. Here we are in 2015, we have the best looking lawn in our Alamo neighborhood, no worries about watering, mowing, and best of all — our Water Bill cut in ½. We sincerely recommend 1st Impression and his staff!

I wish we had made this decision years ago! After struggling with a poor lawn and now with the drought and a new dog, we made the decision to go synthetic. After reading reviews and websites, we settled on 1st Impression to come out and give us a bid. Jason was professional, informative and very helpful. He talked about the pros and the cons of synthetic and made sure we knew the difference. He brought great samples for us to look at and we had a formal quote by the end of the day (verbal during our meeting).
He was able to schedule our job within the time he promised, his crew showed up on time the day scheduled and completed the job within the scheduled time period. We are absolutely thrilled with the work they did — we have a lush, beautiful backyard now that we can enjoy for years. I would recommend 1st Impression to anyone looking to landscape their yard.

1st Impression installed our synthetic grass in our large backyard late last summer after our pool was finished. We had talked with several companies about installing grass before we had Jason come out. After one meeting with Jason, we were sold with his innovating ideas and vision as to how we could achieve a natural look.
He was very honest (unlike a couple other companies we spoke with) and made sure that, once the installation began, that he was on site during the process. Now that winter has come, we are even more pleased with the beautiful green lawn. I would recommend Jason and 1st Impression for quality, options, and service. Jason even had the great idea for a putting green option which is a great addition to our yard.
1st Impression is by far the best company we interviewed.

We interviewed and received competing bids from 5 firms in the Bay Area (two of them were the largest in the business) and selected 1st Impressions for our 2600 sq ft synthetic turf job.
Jason spent quite a bit of time with us reviewing other installation sites and explaining options which was very helpful as we educated ourselves on the cost and process. He communicated with us extensively (text, email, phone) throughout the project and completed the job on time. He also had the best price.
Don’t assume that because a firm advertises on TV That they will have the best price, product and warranty. Jason can get almost any style turf product you want. He also has a «no pressure» sales style, his is a consultative approach where he works to figure out your needs and options. We Highly recommend 1st impressions.

I recently hired 1st Impression Synthetic Lawns and Greens to install a small patch of lawn, 60sqft in a memorial garden area I was creating in my backyard. I met Jason while shopping and was very impressed with the samples he showed me and how honest he was.
We set up a time for him to come by my home and assess the area. He gave me an estimate and showed me some projects he had done in my neighborhood. I called him later that afternoon asking when he could start and the next morning there was a crew at my house working.
The installation crew did a great job and was friendly, helpful and respectful. They put a special paver I had in place; made sure it was level so I could move a fountain onto it. They even worked while we had a rain storm.
The lawn looks great and turned this small area into a wonderful place that I can relax and enjoy, through all seasons without a lot of upkeep. I now have a green area for the dog to use.
I would definitely recommend 1st Impression Synthetic Lawns and Greens to all of my family and friends. They are a pleasure to work with, and my new lawn is so easy to take care of.

We recently hired 1st Impression Lawns to install a small patch of lawn in our newly renovated backyard. After finding the company online I reached out via email and got a quick response back from the owner. Within a few days we had met in person to look at samples and show him where we wanted the lawn installed. I was very impressed with the owner, Jason Webb. He seems genuinely interested in his business and isn’t a pushy salesman. He’s knowledgeable about the products and took the time to answer all of my questions.
Our project was only 220sqft and I felt like he was treating us like our job was his most important priority.
After meeting with him we had several weeks before the rest of construction was finished and we could begin the grass installation. In this time Jason called me periodically to see how things were going and check if we had any questions — again, never being too pushy.
When we were finally ready Jason had a crew scheduled in less than a days notice and got our lawn installed in less than 2 days, a full day ahead of schedule and in plenty of time for a big party we were hosting.
The crew that did the installation was friendly and respectful of our home and property and did a great job. The quality of installation exceeded our expectations ten fold.
The synthetic lawn is a terrific compliment to our new backyard and really brings everything else together. The grass turned a small unusable space into a signature part of the backyard that’s now not only inviting and colorful, but is usable for kids, adults and pets alike.
1st Impression Lawns was a pleasure to work with, exceed our expectations for service and the end product is stunning. We will recommend them to all of our friends and family.

We wanted a traditional Bocce ball court built using compacted gravel and crushed stone. One of our neighbors used 1st Impression with great success so we gave them a call figuring their expertise in grading, compaction and drainage would be perfect for Bocce. They did a fantastic job. Jason came over and clearly explained their construction process and submitted a detailed bid. His creative eye offered solutions to our questions. We were extremely pleased with completed court and how professional the crew was. A great job!

We decided to get a synthetic lawn because our existing lawn had difficult time growing in our yard due to the amount of shade in our yard. We called up few companies for estimates. After getting estimates from two other companies (Creative Landscape and Heavenly Greens), Jason (1st impression owner) came to our place. After putting together a proposal, the cost of doing the job was very fair. He did not out bid the two other competitors but we went with him anyway.
Please keep in mind that «you get what you pay for!» After I shared the two other bids, Jason brought the cost down to a point to where he was very honest about not being able to compete. He even suggested that I go with Heavenly (they were little cheaper) if I didn’t choose him (what a honest recommendation). Then, I asked him to break down the costs and he didn’t hide any information and was honest about his profit margin. Again, he had a business to run and there must be some money to be made so that his business could survive and thrive.
The minute we signed the contract, work began in few days. His crew came and was very neat in their work. They didn’t rush but took time in making sure that everything is put together right. The lawn itself was beautifully installed along with a pathway through the gate to the side of the street. On the next morning after the completion of the job, I found Jason inspecting a leak from one of the sprinkler pipes that broke during the installation. Jason took time to come back on a Saturday to fix the pipe himself and made sure that the pathway is assembled correctly.
Throughout the process, Jason was prompt in his responses via his mobile phone using text messages to me. He showed up to check on the process 2 or 3 times during the process daily. Jason is very easy to work with and he even bothered to learn some sign language to communicate with us!
I would recommend you to consider his business/​products and the pricing reflects the professionalism, honesty, integrity, and pleasantness of his services.

We purchased a short sell house that was in dire need of a landscaping face lift. We consulted three synthetic lawn companies and went with 1sr Impression for several reasons. Jason, the owner was professional, thorough, and not at all pushy. He helped us design our front and backyards. He also had the most realistic looking grass product and it does not require a sand filler. His company arrived on the scheduled start date and finished on the projected finish date. At all times his employees were professional, courteous, and helpful. They were able to locate and repair the 16 year old drip irrigation system. Our yards are beautiful! Our dogs love running on the grass and they cannot hurt it. We now have a low maintenance yard that is the envy of the entire neighborhood. We are so glad that we chose 1st Impression Synthetic Lawns and Greens and I would highly recommend them to anyone no matter what your landscaping needs may be.
