They sharpened our knives perfectly and quickly! Completely pleased with our experience with Walton’s.

I came to Walton’s to buy router bits and to have my knives sharpened. They were sold out of every router bit I was looking for. It looked to me that they only stocked one type of bit at a time so when they sell that one, that’s it for a while.
I also had my knives sharpened at Walton’s. They seriously butchered my very expensive Wusthof kitchen knives. When I got them home, I noticed that the tips of many of the knives were bent. I also noticed that the bevel was not an even width down the length of the blade. The bevel was also very scratched looking as if they took the knife to a belt sander. One of the knives had many chips in the edges that had not been addressed. Almost all of the knives had spots near the handle where they had chewed into the metal (see pictures). The serrated knives that I brought in were somehow duller than when I brought them in. They were also covered in a strange rust/​scale that was certainly not there before.
I brought my knives to Sonoma Cutlery in Petaluma to get a second opinion. They confirmed what I thought about the sharpening job and said it could have been done much better. I would avoid this place at all costs. I should have brought my knives to Sonoma Cutlery in the first place but I did not want to have to drive to Petaluma. Lesson learned. Don’t skimp on having good knives sharpened.

Excellent service — knives were returned sharp as HELL! — and, received a very quick turn around of only one day! Prices are amazingly reasonable (unlike most things in Marin) and customer service was also stellar. I thought I was running late to pick up my knives and wouldn’t arrive till closing, but the nice guy behind the counter said if that ever happens, just give them a call and they’ll be there (just don’t abuse it – 15 minutes tops). Will definitely be coming back!

I called Walton’s for a price on a new HSS 325 mm cold saw blade and a re-​sharpen and spoke to Darren. Darren proceeded to have one of the field guys give me a call back to see if they might have one on their trucks. I said sure no problem. A guy name Oscar calls me back 1hr later and wow this guy needs some serious customer service skills. I had to pry information out of him. I asked Oscar can you find out a price and availability and call me back. I told him the application of the saw and use and I wanted a recommendation on which to purchase. He said things like «well we dont cut so I dont know.» Ok fine your company does not use or test blades to know their efficiency which I don’t understand why you wouldn’t. In addition, why wouldn’t you want to get valuable customer feedback from companies that you service if you claim to be the saw «Experts». Walton’s may do a great job at sharpening and I’m not disputing that; especially based on their reviews you can see that. However, if you claim to be the «Saw Experts» you should at least put an expert behind the phone and not Oscar.

The old saying is true, a dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one. Getting your knives sharpened can be a hassle. Yiou can go to the knife sharpener in the van at the farmer’s market, and many of them are good… I’ve been to a few. But no one sharpens with the expertise of Walton Saw Works. Every resp[ectable profession sushi chef brings their highly coveted knives to Waltons. Why should’t you? I am just a home chef but I love my Asian cleavers and chef knives. Waltons put a beautiful sharp edge on my knives which I have never experienced before. They are efficient, personable and the price was great (4 knives for $ 21 — believe me I would have paid more, it was that good).

I have been using the Walton family’s services for my own woodworking sharpening for 4 decades. The work that Darren and his father have done for me over the years cannot be duplicated or surpassed. Carbide blades, complex router bits, kitchen knives, whatever — Darren and his staff can deal with it. If its dull, the boys will sharpen it. And Dru is a magician; she can find obscure or discontinued items with a few key strokes-​she has done this for me on multiple occasions Walton’s is the invisible member of my woodworking crew!

Walton Saw & knife are so skilled & friendly! Our knives have been sharpened perfectly (in contrast to chipping of the edge by less skilled knife sharpeners), with great advice re knife care. This is a friendly, knowledgeable business, fun to visit!

When it comes to sharpening tools, chipper blades, or saw chains, Waltons has been the place for me for 25 years.

I have an older, cheepo Sears table saw that just died one day. I did not want to have to deal with Sears service department so I stopped off at Walton’s to see if they fixed table saws (I would bring it in with my truck). Alas, they said no, they didn’t do that sort of work. THEN, a fellow (I assume boss/​owner) came out from a back room and asked me some questions. After we talked a bit, he suggested that I bypass the switch to see if that was the problem. It was, I ordered a new switch from Sears and replaced it. Now, my saw is running quite well and Walton’s saved me a ton of $$$. No charge for the free advice which was right on. Way to Go!

I saw Walton’s when I was driving around this area and on a whim brought all of my seriously dull knives in. The pricing seems right — $ 3.50 for little knives, $ 5.60 for 7 – 8 inch knifes, and $ 6 for most scissors and hand pruners. The turn-​around was faster than expected and everything looks and feels as good as new… maybe better. Thanks Walton’s!

They are fantastic and «cutting edge.» I found them because my husband has his work tools sharpened. Now I use them for all my kitchen cutlery and garden tools.
They often call me with in a day or two for a quick turn around.
