Beginning as a carpenter in the Union for over a decade, Travis then embarked on becoming a general contractor to fill the need for superior project management and execution.

Travis Kelleher has been doing custom residential and commercial building as a General Contractor for over 25 years in California and previously in Hawaii. Located in Marin County, Kelleher has built custom remodels in most local townships as well as outside of the county.

I called a number of contractors several weeks ago, because i wanted the fence and the gate replaced, along the front of my house, and i wanted it done yesterday. When I called Travis, he actually answered the phone, and I was able to discuss my situation, what I needed and when he could realistically complete the job, with the contractor who would be organizing it. I did not have the frustrating situation, like I did, with every other fence contractor, of having to leave a message, either via phone mail or with an assistant, who could not address even general concerns of mine about the project. In addition, these other companies were not willing to given me an estimate, in a timely manner, and during a time I would not have to miss work. While not making any promises, over the phone, Travis came out within several days to give me an estimate. I explained the job I wanted and my primary concerns, which took only several minutes since Travis «got it» immediately, and quickly went about showing me how he would rebuild my fence and gate, to my exact specifications. He gave me a reasonable price which he did not deviate from and within several days, he had a crew out at my house, who quietly, politely and diligently rebuilt my fence. The result was beyond my expectations, and more than i had hoped for. The fence and the gait function exactly like I need it too, and looks absolutely stunning. But that wasn’t enough for Travis. He came out personally to inspect the work, make sure I understood exactly what i did, and install some very beautiful hardware on the gate which I had not even anticipated. It was important to Travis that i be completely satisfied with his work before I paid him. To say I am satisfied with the work is a major understatement. Talk about smooth sailing with a contractor!

Travis and his crew are a rare thing. We knew every man on his team. They are honest, hard-​working guys. Travis himself has the very rare combination of technical skill, management skills, attention to detail, and forethought that make him very, very good at what he does.. most contractors we’ve met have strengths in one category or another, but not all. In addition, his choice of subs do excellent work, are reliable, and reasonable.
We hired Travis and his crew to knock down half our home and rebuild an addition. We lived in the other half of the house. many other contractors were not ok with that complication. Travis made it work. He also juggled his own crew and different subs so that teams were constantly at our job site, without missing a single working day for our 7 month project. We had many neighbors comment on the speed and cleanliness of the job site, compared to the multitude of construction projects in our neighborhood. When we ran into issues, Travis had solutions. He is smart, to-​the-​point, and practical. Best of all, the end-​product is solid and cleanly built. Some people talk about that little detail in a project that went a little wrong, that one you notice every day. I fell lucky to say that I haven’t encountered that. Instead, I do find myself admiring the lines, corners, details of our new addition in quiet moments … something I never thought I’d find myself doing.

It wasn’t an easy job but they were able to troubleshoot problems that cropped up… AND finish the work within the budget we’d discussed. Delighted and grateful!

He and his team are conscientious, resourceful, understanding, and the end result is as good as it gets. I am an architect, and Travis has executed several of my designs over the years. Awesome!!! Anyone who owns a house and wants to keep it up and do improvements along the way knows how hard it is to find good trades people. Generally, they want the big juicy projects where they can bed up for a few months or more. Can’t blame them as they have to put food on the table too. For starters, Travis is a professional. Pretty much anyone can have a General Contractors license if they are willing to do the paperwork and pay some money. Travis has obviously done this, but he also has taken the time to go through the instruction and apprenticeship programs that are required to be a true professional. And, he gets it. If you do a two day project for someone, you’ll get the kitchen remodel job when its time. For the job he did for me, he showed up on time the day he said he would start. It was a two day job and he was very mindful of finishing in two days. The quality of work was superb! He installed double doors in my office. It was clear to me within a few hours that it was gong to be hung correctly. Not just thrown in there and trimmed out. When I say it was perfect, I mean perfect. There’s nothing worse than paying for something to be done in your house and then you have to look at the mistakes for the next 20 years. He charges a fair price. You’ll probably be able to find a cheaper price, and you’ll regret it later, if you know what I mean. Travis, will do all jobs at my house going forward as there is no reason to look for anyone else.

Even though I knew that Travis was a general contractor, I was desperate to find someone skilled enough to tackle some of the «broken» aspects of my home. I have a bar swing, custom made entry gate to my front walkway, half of which fell apart. I took the other intact part of the swing down, forlornly assuming I could never find someone to replicate it’s mate. Travis took the still intact half of the gate and returned 1 week later with a beautifully matched other half, of which was better crafted than the original one. Second on my hit list — broken side garden wood door — also custom made (hmmm, by the same garden landscape contractor who made the front gate), that was hanging by a tread. Travis came over with all of his tools, wood, hinges, and voila — within a couple of hours fixed it, again, better than the original. Third on the hit list, my daughter’s room was the only room without crown molding and Travis completely installed beautiful crown and base board throughout her bedroom, quickly, perfectly and spotlessly. Here are the high points: Travis is an ultimate professional — he’s prompt, very courteous, honest (huge plus), efficient and actually does what he says he’s going to do. Cost — very reasonable. Having learned the hard way that going for the less expensive person always costs you more in the end, I highly recommend Travis Kelleher for your home improvement projects.
