I have been practicing in San Rafael and San Francisco for 30+ years working with adults, couples, children and adolescents. From my patients I have learned that in addition to being empathic and easy to relate to, most people want a therapist who is direct and interactive, who offers solutions to problems. We will do this in 3 steps. First I will evaluate the reason you have come. For some people it is symptom relief, to feel less depressed and anxious. For others it is to understand the patterns in their behavior that may prevent more satisfying relationships. For others it maybe family or work problems. Second, we will collaborate on a plan to resolve the problem. You will receive from me clear feedback that will help you understand how we will proceed together. Finally our progress will be reviewed together so we can be clear about the goals you’d like to reach.
