I have been coming here for years. I have become friends with the owner and his wife. Food quality is amazing.

I love this place. Recently started getting their food for parties, and they’re great. They have a California roll, shrimp wonton, and cream cheese wonton platter for $ 25. For day to day lunches, their fried chicken curry is great, too, along with the shrimp fried rice. Workers there are very kind as well.

Admittedly, I come to Toyo Bowl much more often than I probably should. But there are so many nights where my boyfriend and I can never settle on what to eat. When nights like that come, Toyo Bowl is always there for me. Why is teriyaki chicken my go-to when we can’t figure out what to eat? Honesty, I have no clue but I feel as though I’ll upset the balance of the realms if I change my go-to dinner dish, so best not to question it. Anyways, you really can’t go wrong with Toyo Bowl. Everything is a decent price, food comes out pretty quick, and it tastes great. I haven’t explored their menu thoroughly because my boyfriend and I tend to stick with the teriyaki chicken/California roll combo. And we enjoy it every single time. If you’re looking for a quick bite, craving some Japanese food, or just cant decide, Toyo Bowl will be there for you. Toyo Bowl will be the light at the end of your dark food abyss, guiding you towards affordable deliciousness.

This places prices are going up and the portions are downsizing seems like they add a quarter or 50 cents a plate every 3 – 6 months. They’re prices are moving faster than the inflation rate.

Decent, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Very costly for the quality. The restaurant next door is much better & reasonably priced.

My favorite Teriyaki chicken place. The sauce is really good and they sell it to take home in a bottle so I suggest you get yourself one cause its never enough!

I’m glad this place has stood the test of time as so many restaurants in San Pedro have not! I remember stopping by here after school many many many years ago and they’re still great! I’m pretty sure the ownership has changed since then as the menu looks and tastes a little different, but I did enjoy my meal. I got the teriyaki chicken bowl with brown rice and 4 California rolls. It’s a little pricey more than enough really good food! The people that work there are always VERY nice whenever I stop by(once or twice a year). That would put them at 4.5 stars in my opinion

I have been coming to this place Since middle school and always order the teriyaki chicken bowl w no cabbage and sushi rolls. I am not a fan is sea food or anything like that but this place is the only place I have ate sushi rolls(cal rolls) very delicious and the owners are very friendly … Now that I have my son he enjoys watching the fish while we wait for the food and likes the chicken as well. Highly recommend this place it’s small but it has good food

Was in the neighborhood & saw this little hole in the wall in the corner of my eye. Asked a regular with his child, who raved. This being a traditional fishing town, I tried the seafood soup which was pretty satisfying. Like most places, a bit too salty for my tastes, but not overly so. Brought the shrimp fried rice home which didn’t disappoint. Nice people & clean place.

Getting my food no longer takes as long. The food still comes out hot, fresh and delicious. The owners are really nice and sweet elderly people.

This place is average to bland. The teriyaki tastes like bland meat grilled with sauce on it. I got the Thai tea and it was watery as well. The only thing good was the California rolls, and even those were just okay. The portions were generous and the price was right. The people were nice as well. But I’m still going to keep looking for a good teriyaki place!

Beef teriyaki — the beef is too overcooked stay away Chicken teriyaki — average Beef bowl — best dish of the night, meat is average quality, decent choice, very solid for the price Fried potstickers — these are worth getting to share, it’s not enough for a meal though. has chicken shrimp and pork. Above average California rolls — standard and pretty good Steamed vegetables — I liked them, very healthy Miso soup — not authentic but I actually liked it. It’s like a chinese version of miso soup. Goes well with rice. Comes in a huge bowl, around a quart.

WOW!!! SUPERTASTY! My friend just stopped by there and picked up a beef bowl and ate it in my house. First of all it mad my house smell WONDERFUL! I am so thankful he saved me some, and why didn’t I say«yes» when he asked my if I wanted one of my own??? Now i know better. The meat was lean, thin, no fat on it. My kind of bowl. You can tell they take pride in the food they serve. I can’t wait to go back myself. It’s no wonder they have 4 stars.

I was at first skeptical with this teriyaki place but we gave it a try, and did not regret it! The parking here is pretty crowded and compact since it’s in a plaza with other businesses. When we got here, it wasn’t that busy and the lady who was behind the counter was great! Very business-like and serious, but she was kind and informative. I believe this is a mom and pop business and their recipe are on point!!! We ordered the combo of chicken and beef teriyaki with 4CA rolls, and same order with veggies besides the rolls(they also offer brown rice, if you prefer) I also wanted to try their milk tea boba and for a place who doesn’t focus on boba drinks, it is pretty good! All orders cost less than $ 25. I swear, this place provides great service, prices, and also the quality of meat. Tried many famous teriyaki joints and this place is better than others! I loved how they grilled the meat, and their sauce was flavorful. They offer a wide variety of choices, the only downside is that they give water in a small ass paper cup like uh, that’s only a sip. They also don’t have a bathroom, but whatever, the location suck anyways. But the owner and the food are super-bbbbb! Will come back again for their short ribs: D

My rating is for the spicy teriyaki combo. The service is good, the older lady behind the counter is very nice and explained the options to me(first time eating here). I went with the spicy teriyaki combo which includes beef and chicken. I have to say the portion is small for the $ 8.00 price tag. Only about 8 small slices of beef. Maybe one thigh of chicken. The sauce is very good, it did have a nice kick to it, its the sweet kind of teriyaki, not much saltiness. Overall they know what they’re doing, and the food is fresh. My only beef is with the portions.
