Apparently, a woman couldn’t handle a call? She handed the phone over to a male after she had already answered my two questions. Why? Beats me.
Her: «Hello, Rons Jewelry»
Me: «Hi, do you buy jewelry?»
Her: «We do.»
Me: «Oh, good. Do you also appraise?»
Her: «Um, we’ll do you want to appraise or sell? Because we appraise it for 75 $»
Me: «I was just going to sell, but was asking if you appraised as well…»
I was handed the phone over to the male MID-​CONVERSATION. Who does that? Really? The gentleman was very nice. I was just surprised to find another unnecessary voice on the other end. Guess it shouldn’t have surprised me to hear the frustration and confusion from the air head girl that got flustered enough to just hand the phone over to someone else. He asked if he could help me and I said that I just asked if they bought gold. He explained that they bought gold and jewelry and needs to be seen to give a price. I said ok that’s fine, I’ll just come in, thank you.
I guess it’s hard for him to find good help. She can’t even handle a simple phone call. Went in anyway to find out that he’s not interested in my ring because there isn’t enough gold in it. A small 14k ring isn’t worth his time. I will just sell all my jewelry at once to somewhere else in the future.

Let me just start off by saying that I walked into Ron’s Jewelry all excited about getting my rings resized finally and left feeling like a criminal planning on trying to get a better diamond for free. The salesperson and jeweller initially were very nice and personable when discussing my options. When it came time for me to leave my rings I asked the jeweller if I could plot the center stone on paper before I left. He looked at me all confused saying I would have to have them GIA certified and it would cost around $ 500. I explained that I just wanted to look through the jewelry loop and mark imperfections on a piece of paper so I can make sure I got the same center stone back. He was immediately offended and became arrogant saying do you know who that is on that picture? I said no. He said it’s Kobe Bryant and he has all his jewelry done here. I told him he is not related to me. What does that have to do with me looking at my diamond before I leave it? He then told me he was not comfortable working on my rings and didn’t want to resize them. I told him my intention was not to offend him and apologized for doing so. I have always thought that plotting them would protect both jeweller and customer. I had only been to this location a few times to have my battery on my watch replaced. I was trying to establish a positive relationship with a local business. So much for trying to support local businesses. Lastly I would like to say that I am a flight attendant and I see celebrities daily on my planes. Celebrity poop stinks just like everyone else’s. I do not need a celebrity to define how good I am at my job nor do I carry a picture around of any of them showing people who I have met. Sorry I have to give this place a star at all.

When looking for a local jeweler I went to Unilocal first to see the reviews on all the shops in San Pedro. Not to mention names but I went to two of the shops that were rated high and both made me feel like they were in a hurry and not really interested in helping me. I can be pretty indecisive so I know I am a customer that takes time, but the two previous shops totally had no interest in helping me. I decided to try one of the shops that had a low rating so I went to Ron’s, let me tell you they took their time helping me choose the perfect setting. I didn’t feel pressured and I left feeling confident with what I purchased. They also cleaned both my rings. I appreciated Marks outlook on each and every diamond. Mark and Ashley were very helpful and helped me pick a beautiful setting. I haven’t got the ring back yet, so there will be another review to follow once I see the finished product.

Obviously my horrible run in wasn’t with you. I find it admirable that you try to protect the integrity of the business you are affiliated with but instead of quoting T Swizzy lyrics I would suggest you pay more attention to what people are saying about the employee, not the quality at Ron’s. I think you helped prove my point that I was overcharged by confirming it should have only been $ 12. Again, the unruly man behind the counter with his horrible attitude is the reason behind my less than stellar review. That and he messed up my time piece.

This place sucks! This guy destroyed my wife’s TAG. He took the back off improperly and never sealed it. Charged me an arm and a leg for a horrible job. I had to send the watch to TAG to get fixed! I don’t know what’s worse, his jeweler skills or his shitty attitude. Go to Vilicich if you want your watch to continue to work. Lame! And before some moron responds… Take a hard look at your reviews. You’re not looking too hot!

One year ago my engagement ring broke. This ring means the world to me because it belonged to my late mother-​in-​law. We brought the ring in and were told that he would have to melt down the ring to make a stronger band. This was not a problem since we were told this would last for years and years to come. The price we were given was steep but we thought since the repair would last, we would bite the bullet. It took almost 3 weeks to get back but it turned out beautiful.
Forward one year later, my ring is broken again and in the exact place it broke before. Now I feel completely ripped off.
Apparently if your not Kobe Bryant the work is mediocre.

Picked up my new diamond ring Marc designed for me. It took longer than 3 weeks that was initially planned — BUT it is custom make, and I was pretty demanding of what I wanted. Let’s just say I got exactly what I wanted. If there was a 6 star — rating, I would. But OK, 5 is great. See the pic. Is it not the most beautiful unique design you’ve ever seen? 3 oval center diamonds with approx. 196 micro pave tiny dia all ovah da place… Aloha…

The cameras very well show how I was continually being cutoff by the man behind the counter. I had no idea how to go about this and why I had a few questions which were continuously replied with frustration by the man.
I will say that I was able to find a local jeweler that was able to convert the sizes from European to American (standard thing I was told) and able to add in a layer of white gold to make the the ting fit. Was done in house and not complicated at all. Fit my husband great!
I am not one to walk into a store and assume I know what needs to be done and rely on the expertise advise from the company. Excuse for not barking orders and expecting to impossible to happen. I rely on professionals for guidance, which neither of you did.
And lastly I was not at all frustrated walking in but sure upset at how I was treated. You should pay attention to the customers that walk into your store.

Ron’s Jewelers, Park Plaza, San Pedro, virtually shouts CLASS. Real gold, real pearls, beautifully crafted fine jewelry at reasonable prices. No cheap imported crap here. I had my watch battery replaced in minutes and was amazed by the selection of real gold jewelry and GREAT SERVICE.

The man working the front couldn’t be more RUDE! I went in to have some GOLD jewelry appraised & he wanted to charge me $ 100 just to test the gold!!! I told him why would he charge me for that service & he got really snotty & said «because I can, & that’s the way it is»! I told him he was trying to rip me off. So I just walked out went to another jeweler which did not charge me a red cent to test my gold!!! Plus, gave me a fair price for my gold! I told the person what had happened @ Ron’s jeweled & he couldn’t believe he was going to charge me that amount or any amount to test gold – it’s a FREE process when turning in gold. Needless to say, I will never return to that crummy jewelry place & deal with rip-​offs!

Great experience getting my wedding rings repaired & cleaned. 15 years ago, I had my rings soldered together here. Maybe 9 years (?) ago, I had it sized up after my last child was born. This week, since my anniversary is coming up, I decided to have the thinning prongs repaired and the whole thing cleaned up nice. They did a great job! It looks good as new and now I can rest assured my diamond won’t fall out. I will come to them again. Thanks!

Came tob Ron’s for an Xmas gift. I found exactly. I was looking for. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will recommend this store to my friends and family.

The WORST service I have ever experienced at a jewelry store. Unprofessional, rude and I will never ever step foot in that establishment again. I just wish I had read these other reviews before going there!!!

This is a revised review as Unilocal deemed my previous review not detailed enough. That’s fair, as my last review basically said «Rude Rude Rude.»
So here a more detailed review. I went in with my wife looking for a tungsten or cobalt engagement band. We had looked elsewhere and online and knew what we wanted for the most part. So we go in and sit down and the guy working their says he’ll be with us in a minute. He was with another customer, being very rude to her about some work he had done for her. Should have been enough of a warning but we waited. He comes over to us after a bit and asks what we want. We tell him we’re looking for a tungsten wedding band and he tells us they are now closed. I explained we would be quick as we knew exactly what we wanted but we were pretty much ushered out. Maybe he was just having a bad day but he was very rude and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else doing business here.

I originally reviewed this place in 2010 and they’ve been posting rude, poorly written responses, deleting them, then reposting new responses for years. So when you read this review, who knows if there will be an owner response or what it will be. Maybe they took an online marketing course and have abandoned their «go F yourselves» attitude towards Unilocalers. Whatever. Just stay away and beware the fake 5 stars. This place sucks.

Before my husband and I eloped to Las Vegas, we visited several jewelry stores in search of a wedding band for him. We had researched rings online, and knew that a nice tungsten wedding band would cost us about $ 100. After work one day, we rushed over to Ron’s, having never been there before but having seen it driving by. It was a little before 5:30. When we got there, the guy behind the counter (Ron??) was helping another customer and told us to have a seat and he would be with us in a minute. While we sat there, we overheard him belittling and talking down to the customer who was complaining about the cleaning job he did on her ring. I think he even said, «Look, lady…» at one point. But ever excited about our elopement and buying a wedding band, we overlooked his rudeness and continued to wait. While we waited, we noticed that Ron’s tungsten wedding bands that were identical to the ones we researched online were about $ 400 – 500. When the clerk finally made his way over to us and asked us how he could help us, we said we were looking for men’s wedding bands. He then said, «Sorry guys, I have to close up.» And he shooed us out the door. I have no doubt that if we were shopping for my engagement ring or any other piece of jewelry that had a higher profit margin for him, we probably would have been treated a lot better. And it would have been nice if he had told us he had to close before we sat there and waiting for 15 minutes. Please never go here. The service and the product are beyond awful. In the end though, we were victorious. We found a tungsten ring that was more beautiful than any Ron had to offer at the great, low
price of $ 29.99.

**Denise, I can tell you’re as lovely as the rest of the crew at Ron’s. I am married to Josh H. Great detective work on your part! We both experienced your poor service so we both reviewed you. That’s how Unilocal works. And great job on getting his negative review removed for being «too general.» He’ll be posting a more specific review promptly. Where you’re wrong though is that my husband and I were not in your store three times. We were there once. And that one time was enough to turn us off for good. Based on your other reviews I see this is standard practice for you. Also, I’m familiar with the concept of closing time. It just seems odd that your closing time would be 5:50. Lastly, badmouthing the fact that we paid market value for tungsten comes off as elitist. You might want to rethink that approach. You might also want to review Unilocal’ recommendations for owner comments. They almost always come off as desperate, and in your case, antagonistic. How about trying to get some positive reviews by improving your customer service? Best of luck in that endeavor.
