Fisk Termite Control

This is for review on impression of the business.
I am process of purchasing the house and need to have termite inspection so I called Fisk Termite Control and the lady who answered the phone is not nice at all. I don’t care if it’s the busiest of the year but you are answering the call from prospect future customer and if this is the way that you handle the customer then I will have no business using them in any future at all. I might just call for termite inspection but I will be home owner so I might need to use your company for other project but since I am not willing to talk to this person to do business then you lost the customer. Just to let you know.

Rob inspected my new house before closing and found some minor issues and recommended some 1350 bucks worth of work. I know very little about termite controls and because my house doesn’t have a big problem, I can’t certify that he is able to do wonder per other reviewers. Enough of disclaimers.
Now to the point, he arrived on time, inspected every corner of the house and had a long list of things he suggested be fixed. He turned around his report the next business day. Throughout the process he was responsive to questions and explained things along the way. Also fyi– my home inspector saw his report and said this is a very clean report from Rob. Rob is the strict type, which probably does not appeal to real estate agents, who just want you to blindly bid up prices. If you are a buyer like I am, it’s important to have someone with high standards of practice to inspect your house. Based on his reputation and my experience with him, I would definitely request him again next time.

Fisk did extensive work in repairing wood rot and deterioration on the home we were preparing to sell. It required extensive removal of stucco and replacement of the underlying wood, deck repair, and replacement of the rear wooden stairs. The work quality was excellent and they completed the task on budget and on schedule. The crew was friendly and clean.

Full disclosure — I did not have many direct dealings with Fiske. However, they did an inspection and estimate for the home we purchased in June, 2014 on behalf of the seller’s Real Estate agent. The seller was a high-​end contractor himself, and in a subsequent walk-​though with him he indicated he was very displeased with them given that: 1) many of the test hole locations did not make sense (i.e. directly into a stud instead of between them to look w/​a light/​scope); 2) some of the test holes were made in very visible locations for no good reason (i.e. in the front arch entryway); 3) the estimate was exorbitant: over $ 60K. After being told that there was a 4+ month wait time to schedule work I went with another company (see my other review of them). They confirmed the sellers complaints were accurate and their estimate came in at ¹⁄₃ the cost.

We called Fisk to do an annual inspection on our home, as they’d done the pest work for the previous owner before she put it on the market last year. Our realtor had told us when reviewing disclosures before purchase that Fisk is «the best in the business,» and our experience with Robert certainly speaks to that. He arrived promptly, was patient with my many questions as he went around the house inside and out, and pointed out a number of different small problems he’d noticed that had nothing to do with termites. He also very honestly told me at the end of the inspection that annual inspections probably aren’t necessary for our property in the future — «every 2 or even 3 years would be fine.» When the time comes, we’ll definitely be calling Fisk again.

I contacted Fisk Termite after the first termite company gave us a green light at purchase and afterwards we discovered live termites everywhere. Robert was very thorough with lots of experience. He provided honest, professional and timely services. Robert explained clearly what needed to be done for the subterranean termites and I felt comfortable that I was getting what I paid for. For the inspection and treatment Fisk showed up on time, completed the work as promised and left the place neat and tidy.

We called Fisk after our friend in a related industry recommended them. They are considered very honest and knowledgable. After their initial inspection and diagnosis, we went ahead with the job, and the whole process was done in about ½ a day. It was a 3-​pronged attack on the termites beneath our steps. The cost was FAR LESS than the major exterminator chains. I felt that they were able to keep costs down by pinpointing exactly what needed (and what did not need) to be done.
They were also surprisingly neat. Not only did they patch a wall they had opened up, but they also painted it. Thank you Fisk Termite!
