History

Established in 2012.

Established in 2013, the Simply Elegant Events has designed and produced numerous weddings and events in California and destinations worldwide. We had received great compliments and feedback from our customers. Our long-​standing relationships with the event industry’s top vendors ensure a stress-​free experience both during the design and planning process and on the day of the event. We work hand in hand with our client’s vendors to ensure that the vision we have carefully crafted with our client is well communicated, understood and brought to life.

«Hi, I’m Carol in The Simply Elegant! I have always had the passion in organization. From daily life activities to events such as birthday, bridal and baby showers for family and friends, I am always in planning mode. Ask my nearest and dearest and they’ll not-​so-​jokingly tell you that before making plans of their own they’ll check my calendar to make sure I don’t have something fun already up my sleeve.

I fell in love with event planning after the amazing 25th birthday party for myself. I had attended many weddings and have practical experiences in every single fields — I was a wedding emcee, event coordinator, wedding planner, event decoration designer and florist.

If I had only found Carol and her company before I started planning… I would have saved myself months of agony and stress! Her company plans the ENTIRE wedding so you don’t have to worry about anything except what you want and how you want it.
Coordination: Carol is extremely professional, thoughtful, communicative (we exchanged many many emails while I was on the other side of the US), and patient (she had to explain many things to me and did so with tact)! She was there with me every step of planning, reassuring me the night before, encouraging me on the day of, and making sure both my husband and I were having fun and staying hydrated.
Decorations: The wall drapings and lighting transform your venue into a mini wonderland. Highly recommend it though it can be pricey! Table décor was a mix of my DIY and Carol’s expertise — what can I say but simple and elegant?
DJ/​Emcee: Guests really loved the 2 bilingual emcees and wanted to know where I found them — through my coordinator! They made sure the banquet flowed at a good pace (of course with Carol’s guidance) and everyone was entertained. Guests also loved the tasteful mix of music the DJs played.
Makeup/​hair: Kelly stayed with me the whole day and made me into a very beautiful bride. She took my comments during the trial session seriously and made amazing changes on the day of. I had a total of 4 dresses accompanied by 4 different hairstyles and makeup.
Cake: Carol’s company also handles your cake — please let her! Coincidentally, I found the same bakery before hiring Carol though I wish I hadn’t. I had my own cake tasting after I arrived back in the Bay Area; my husband had already tried a slice. The baker wouldn’t let me try the flavor my husband had and only let me try one. I’m sure Carol would have pulled out her awesome negotiating skills and made the cake tasting experience better. More bizzarely, the bakery called me on the day of the wedding asking why I hadn’t picked up $ 200 worth of cookies… suffice it to say, the baker is amazing with cakes but not so good with organizational skills.

You will never regret by choosing Simply Elegant Events to be your Wedding Planner. Carol Huang, who is knowledgeable about the whole wedding thing, from trial make up to wedding date makeup, wedding table set up, music, MC. Carol was not only did a pretty makeup and hair for me on my big day, she also did a wonderful make up for my mom and mother-​in-​law. In addition, Carol was a MC at our wedding. She even cares my wedding more than I do, this is no joke! Last but not least, our photographer Jeffery Liang, Jeffery is so passionate in photograph, who directs us in different poses and the photos came out amazing. Many thanks to Carol and Jeffery for planning a fun and memorable wedding for us on 5÷1÷2015!!!

I can’t recommend Carol enough to all the brides to be! She did an amazing job planning for my wedding on 4÷18÷15. She went above and beyond in her duties as a wedding coordinator. When browsing through wedding coordinator websites I often see details that include how many sessions you get to have with them each for 0.5−1 hr. But I had to plan for my wedding from out of state and only got 3 trips back home to plan for thing. During one of my trip, Carol came with me to see the church, the restaurant and stayed with my family to discuss the venue, which took the entire afternoon. No other coordinators would have done so.
She also did an amazing job on the day of the wedding! The restaurant was slow in serving our many courses of the Chinese banquet, so Carol had to move up the events so that the guests don’t get bored.
Our decoration was just perfect, similar to the photos uploaded by the other reviewers. One thing to note was that our cake tasting was not impressive at all when Carol brought the cake to my house. But it was soft, moist and delicious at our wedding. Many guests wanted to know the bakery. So perhaps have the caking tasting at the bakery would give you a better idea.
Kelly also did an amazing job with my hair and makeup! People gave me many compliments.
Apache kept the atmosphere fun and lively during the reception.

Carol did an amazing job setting up a recent wedding that I attended. I was honestly amazed at how classy, organized, and fun the wedding was. Not only were the music, DJ, and MC well coordinated, the entire venue was beautifully designed and decorated. I would highly recommend the Simply Elegant Events.

Dreams DO come true! And they came true with ‘The Simply Elegant Event!
Carol Huang was our wedding planner/​wedding coordinator. The moment we met Carol, my husband and I knew we were in good hands!
We initially met with Carol at our home and discussed our vision, what we needed help with coordinating and the package we were interested in. Carol has a great personality! She is so easy going and professional at the same time. She really calmed our nerves about all the coordinating and organizing that needed to be done.
The months before the wedding, Carol helped us organize our vendors and discuss the next steps in organizing for our big day! Together we worked on a timeline, decorations, music, and what we needed help with in the upcoming days closer to our wedding. It was to our surprise (and relief) that Carol has previously worked with a lot of our vendors! How awesome is that? It made me feel even more confident that our wedding day would go smoothly. Carol was there when I did a makeup trial with Kelly (my makeup artist) to decide what would look best. I loved my hair and makeup. It held up all day and night beautifully.
The day of the wedding, Carol was so helpful! In the morning, she came to our house to help us bring over everything we needed at the restaurant and organized everything so well! Carol tended to everything and made sure we didn’t worry about a thing! She was so attentive at the reception to all our guests and also continuously checked in with me and my husband throughout the night! At the end of the night, my husband and I were so impressed with how beautiful the decorations were and how organized it was! We received many compliments from friends and families. Wow!
Carol is nothing short of amazing and I cannot think of anything else to say to really show our appreciation for her and her professionalism during our special day. She was worth every ‘dime’! :)
