Tatiana Zhornist, R.N., B.S.N.

Director of Aesthetic Services

Tatiana has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from University of San Francisco. She is a member of the Dermatology Nurses Association, Association of Medical Esthetic Nurses and ASLMS (American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery). Ms. Zhornist is certified with over 10 years of expertise in: Botox® and Dysport, Fillers such as Restylane®, Perlane, JuvedermXC™, and Radiesse and Belotero. She was trained by the founder of IPL (Photofacial) Dr. Patrick Bitter Sr., She has also provided service in: Laser Hair Removal, Sclerotherapy, and ReFirme (a new skin tightening technology). Tatiana has been a trainer for Allergan USA, Inc. She has conducted classes on science and techniques of Botox® and JuvedermXC to medical professionals from San Francisco to San Mateo to San Jose.

Came for laser hair removal and worked with Garrett. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional. I was super nervous as this was my first time and she made me very comfortable. Would definitely recommend laser hair removal w Garrett! I’ve only gone once so far and I can already see a big difference.

I’m surprised anyone would give this Titana more than 2 stars, she rushes through the appointments and discusses prices way too much with out being asked. I wasn’t happy with her Botox and filler results !!! and she made no effort to address this concern other than to say it was my skin type, didn’t react well !! Oh really ??? receptionst however was very pleasant !

The skin care here is EXCELLENT. I have been searching for the kind of quality skin care medical place similar to the one I used to go to in Los Angeles and I have FINALLY found it. Kristen is knowledgeable, loves her work, has gentle sure hands and is very engaged with the work. I have had excellent service and will continue going back. Everyone who works there is patient, and answer every question you have. They are all well trained and just plain nice. And I love the work that Kirsten does. You can trust her with your face. I like that she doesn’t push procedures, she listens, answers questions and never rushes. This is one great place!

I suppose I should have read the reviews before dropping almost 500 $ for Botox here.
Tatiana did my Botox the second time for the touch up. The first time it was another lady. I had ZERO results. I’d had it before a few times, in the past but, my lady retired. When I received Botox from my lady– it was not highly diluted. And it lasted a year… EVERYTIME! So, I found Lumina and read a few reviews but not all of them. They seemed professional and I went forward with the Botox. It lasted about 2 months. I came in for a touch up and that lasted a month… maybe. I was LIVID. I went in initially in June or July and came back about 1 month or so later for a touch up, and by October– you couldn’t tell if even had it done. AND Tatiana told me, «you have VERY strong forehead muscles». What? Lol.
Then I talked to a plastic surgeon. He told me that when the Botox is over-​diluted with saline– it is being used by inexperienced administrators or administrators without proper training. Or both. He said that it spreads faster, and usually lasts weeks to a few months. And when diluted properly by trained professionals– it should have LONG lasting results.
This seems to be the only answer to what my experience was here at LS.
I’m peeved that I’ve called, TWICE about this issue and they offer NO solution. So, basically, I have to spend more money with my new Board Certified and Licensed Plastic Surgeon to make sure it’s done right.

Super friendly staff and took great care of us. My mom went in for a Botox and although I called last minute, they made time for a consultation which was free and got it done the same day with Kristen. She’s super attentive and told my mom to go back in 2 – 3 weeks for check up and make sure she’s content along with giving my mom great tips to making sure the Botox stays intact. Loved it and would recommend anyone who’s into great costumer service and have their money’s worth. I also liked the facility, overall really good feel, not to mention that there is validated parking.

Anyone looking to find a caring, reputable medical spa should NOT go to LuminSkin. I had been going to LuminaSkin for IPL treatments for over 5 years and I learned that they could care less about their clients or what happens after they leave their office. The last treatment I had, Tatiana severely burned the nose on my skin. I called to notify them that the burn was getting worse. I received 1 phone call and 1 email to check up on the status of the burn within the week of the treatment and never heard from them again– even though they saw a picture of how severe the burn was. It took 10 weeks to heal and I am left with a scar. They never followed up or offered free products or other treatments to help with the healing and eventual scarring. I even contacted the Better Business Bureau who called, and sent letters, requesting full reimbursement of the treatment on my behalf. The staff at LuminaSkin were so arrogant, they never replied to the BBB’s multiple requests or refunded my treatment cost. If they cared and took pride the ensure all clients are properly cared for, they would have taken action to help me and at the very least refunded per the BBB request. LuminaSkin did nothing.

Some of the worst service I’ve encountered. Paid a package for 5 laser treatments done by an old and un updated machine. The treatment actually made the growth worse.
My last time there an incompetent woman named Keren showed up an hour and a half late. She said I was too tan and «will not be doing laser today», even though it’s my choice to carry on or not.
Her tone is always off and makes me feel uncomfortable. She is NOT thorough for the money I’m paying, and she mastered wasting my time that day.
I told her we’re doing the treatment anyways. Since I was tan she decided to treat me on levels half the strength I was being treated with without my consent. So I basically had to pay for a treatment that didn’t do anything, as I’ve already grown tolerant to lower levels. The worst part of it is that if I hadn’t asked I wouldn’t have known. Keren also would miss huge parts that I would have to reiterate for her to go over… I couldn’t relax the entire time because I’m correcting her incompetence.
Lastly, the rude staff wouldn’t tell me how late she would be, although if they told me she would be over an hour late I would have left and come back a different time. This was a 5 hour pointless trip to Lumina.
Spend your thousands here if you want crappy incompetent service and laser treatments that don’t work.
I switched to Berman skin which has updated machinery and since my first session I’ve seen significant improvement.

I’m a 6 year customer with LuminaSkin —– I keep coming back — for the excellent service, professional treatment, warm and friendly staff — truly experts in their field.
The owner, Tatiana and her staff make you feel comfortable during the procedures — but the also are aware of the latest in skin care treatments — whether is laser, IPL, botox, filler for facial wrinkles, etc.
Once a month they feature guest speakers who make presentations on various products and technological devices that help with skin issues.
The office is inviting and you feel rested and at peace with the surrounding environment — of course, the open house parties with delicious ethnic foods is another perk that keeps the customers coming back for more …

I Love DERMAPEN!
It’s the first treatment that clearly reduces the appearance of acne scars, chicken pox scars, and large pores. It also has a tightening effect which is just an added bonus for me! KRISTEN is awesome… she is thorough, gentle and determined to see an improvement!!! Gotta love that !! Ask for her.
LuminaSkin is always the first to have the latest technology and always doing their best to make it affordable to their clients. :-))
I recommend this procedure to anyone who has scars. There is no downtime, no pain (they will numb you with a topical cream) and results are seen after a few weeks. Of coarse, the deeper the scars the more treatments. But after 2 treatments there is a noticeable improvement in the texture of my skin.
I just love the fact that I have had NO DOWNTIME with visible and lasting results. I’m in and doing treatments til their gone. (On treatment 3 of 5) !! So happy to say goodbye to my acne scars !!!

I’ve been coming to Lumina Skin for about a year and a half and couldn’t be happier. From the beautiful, spa like reception area, and clean medical treatment rooms. I’ve seen the wonderful Tatiana but Kristen usually takes care of me. She has an eye for exactly what I need and we always have a good time. No one has ever pushed product on me but have always thoroughly answered my questions when I was interested.
I always look forward to visiting all the ladies and especially looking and feeling better when I leave. Thank you!!!

I’ve been coming to LuminaSkin for four years and have had consistently good experiences, including reasonable prices, communicative staff, and little to no waiting.
Most recently I came in right before my wedding because I had an absurd breakout. The staff member who saw me was attentive, took her time, and offered free «touch ups» if there were any spots that turned out to need further attention in the next day or two. Even more impressive, she talked me out of getting a particular treatment that wouldn’t make sense given my situation. It would have been really easy for her to sell me a treatment I didn’t need, so I was really impressed by her expertise and consideration.

I was referred to LuminaSkin by a friend a few years ago and have been using their services since. After taking birth control pills and tanning for years, I developed large brown spots on my face. My dermatologist prescribed me a cream, which slightly improved my skin texture, but the spots were still there. Kristen used IPL treatment, which targets only dark areas, and after a few days my spots were gone and my skin looked even, younger and tighter! Wow! Kristen also did my laser hair removal. Though its not completely painless procedure, she was very careful adjusting the power of the laser and keeping me comfortable. It was absolutely worth it! They have the latest equipment, great staff and service. I definitely recommend this place!

Add to that a friendly and knowledgeable staff and a modern and clean office space and you have a skin care center that’s well worth the hour+ drive from San Jose.

This review is long overdue. Where do I begin? I use to be a sun worshiper. As I got older, I’ve developed sun damage below the right side of my right eye. It was the size of a dime and had a brownish dark color. Tatiana explained the IPL procedure in layman terms. She also put me on the Obagi skin regimen. I used this product for 3 months and was amazed at the results. I’ve gone through microdermabrasions as well and I always feel so good after i leave.
I’ve gotten compliments on my skin and the dark spots have lightened a lot.
I’ve used other services that Tatiana offers and I definitely recommend her.
Both Julie and Susan are friendly and always there w/​a smile. Lauren who was new is pretty good. She worked on me once and I’m due to go back soon.
