I asked them to cater my daughter’s birthday party. I called a couple of days before to confirm. On the day of the party they were late… He had forgotten about it! All the promised food was not there. The food taste was okay but my guests were sitting there waiting for them, hungry! Do not get food catered from them

A friend and I decided to try a new Mexican restaurant for lunch the other day. We have a few longtime«favorites,» but, honestly, it’s the atmosphere we like. The food all tastes exactly the same. The Unilocal reviews for G&D’s looked promising. When we met there, we were both surprised that it was actually it the golf club’s club house. So much for atmosphere. But that’s fine. Lots of windows, and since it was lunchtime, the views were great. But the FOOD? Wow, the food was fantastic. Unique flavors, and lovely presentation. Truly artistic. We both really enjoyed our lunches. This food is really good. And the owners were really charming. Truly a find!

We had a great light meal here– everything was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The service was very friendly. Would certainly come back! Just a word of warning: we found it difficult to find: it looks like a golf clubhouse(which where it is situated) behind the Double Tree hotel. The sign is tiny and deteriorating. Don’t let that put you off– it is definitely worth the search!

one of the better places to eat at when it comes to the choices at the food court. we all know that mall food is usually average at best, but this place is different. they cook everything right when you order it so you know the food is always fresh, unlike a lot of the other spots. some people complain about waiting longer than usual, but I don’t mind(probably not the best choice to go with if you’re in a hurry). they don’t keep any ingredients sitting out either, so i find myself thinking that the quality of their food is healthier as well. the owners are very nice people, and it’s easy to tell that they really care about making good(and visually appealing) food. the rest of the staff are pretty quiet for the most part. their burritos, taco plates, and taco salads are super tasty. and they’ve never messed up on any of my orders. free chips & salsa whenever you eat there, so that’s a plus!

With my personal trainer out of town, my discipline faltered and I braved a walk through rainy weather to try Gabriel & Daniel’s after seeing the incredible photos on Unilocal.Unfortunately, Gabriel & Daniel’s did not live up to expectations. There were only two parties(a total of 4 people) ahead of me, but service at the register was so slow I waited 20 minutes before ordering. It then took another 20 minutes for my chorizo burrito supreme to be prepared. By the time my order was completed, I had devoured the complimentary chips and salsa in an attempt to ease hunger pangs even though the latter was too, literally and figuratively, hot for me. That being said, my burrito was tasty. I wish there were more greens, aside from the pitiful dollop of guac, in it, but the chorizo gave it an interesting flavor that I didn’t expect a burrito to have. Ultimately, I think the food’s presentation has distracted diners. If you factor looks out of the equation, which I did because my heart-burrito was haphazardly constructed, it’s nothing to rave about.

The chef took this 10 $ dish into an art!!! He has such passion and love to the food he makes. Ever time when I stop by, he always get excited about introducing his dishes to us, and get super happy back to his kitchen and make food for us. I love ppl who takes passion whatever they do as their job. No matter it’s an excel model, or video, or it’s a dish!

I’m not sure if I ate at the same restaurant as the rest of you… My super burrito was seriously«meh» and dragged way way down by the fact that 10% of the rice was seriously under cooked. That, or it was last week’s stock, because I’d get rock hard grains of rice perma-coated to my molars with every other bite. The shining star was the«guacamole”/green sauce that added some brightness to the otherwise muddled composition. Won’t be coming back.

I’m assuming the gentleman that helped us was one of the owners. Great man. He spoke so passionately about his food and the quality of the ingredients. Love that! Good food.

I am rarely at a mall let alone eating inside a mall food court. Came in on Halloween to look for a last minute costume(protip: don’t bother, every store was a complete shit show with last minute scramblers). Suddenly got hungry and ordered a shrimp burrito here. Do not eat here if you’re in a hurry because they are painfully slow. They are understaffed with only one person making the food while the place across had six people! They do not have black beans, only a pinto/black bean mix and their salsa is served super hot. I also saw them microwave something in a gallon size sour cream container(rice?) for 15 minutes and you know that container was not made for microwaving, especially for 15 minutes! Extra $ 1 charge for shrimp that was not listed on the menu.

On arrival to Rainbow Pizza, we discovered they were under construction so we had to go elsewhere. I searched Unilocal for some decent Mexican food & this place came up… Not familiar with this establishment, I got directions & off we went. Little did we know that it’s a spot in the Hillsdale Mall Food Court lol. We thought, well… with all the pos reviews, why not give them a shot? We were both pleasantly surprised at how tasty their food was! Usually food court dining is mediocre at best but this Mexican Grill served up some really tasty food!!! The gentleman who helped us was EXTREMELYFRIENDLY and gave us samples of their agua frescas to try, etc. Ended up ordering a big fat vegetarian burrito & some carne asada fajitas. Both were delicious! Although, the sauce on my burrito was quite spicy lol — next time, no hot sauce =). Give this place a try. Don’t be turned off that they’re in the food court ;-).

I knew it would only be a matter of time for me to stop by Gabriel & Daniel’s at Hillsdale Mall since I always stop by Hillsdale Trader Joe’s. The pics on Unilocal definitely don’t lie. They have some really amazing Mexican food in terms of taste and presentation. Because everything looked good on their menu, I actually had a hard time deciding what to order. I wasn’t too hungry for a burrito, so I decided on their Shrimp Taco Plate. Shrimp Taco Plate – How is this mall food? It’s literally art on a plate. And it’s not just a pretty plate, the tacos are really good! Each taco had a good amount of shrimp which made them substantial and then they came with rice in beans to compliment them. A very solid taco plate and I enjoyed every bite of it. On a side note, they’ve taken over the spot where Fajita Flats used to be at the Food31 food court. I missed that place so much because I thought their Global Burritos were ahead of their time with burritos like Indian Curry, Thai Peanut, and Teriyaki and this was way before fusion food trucks ever came around. I do know they have a more formal dining spot in Burlingame, but it’s such a surprise to see them bring their food to a mall food court. The food here is way too good to be mall food and I can see why it has such a high rating. Their Instagram-worthy food presentation is awesome and the owners are very passionate. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

I am shock that this place is in a mall food court. I think this is one of the best Mexican food eatery in San Mateo area. The food was not too salty and well-seasoned. This is not your typical buffet or sloppy spooned onto your plate. The ingredients are fresh and dishes are prepared fresh. The staff was friendly and professional. We ordered Chicken Fajitas with onions, bell peppers topped with salsa, guacamole, sour cream and cheese served with four soft tortillas. Chicken was tender with a simple fajita marinade sauce. The Beef tacos were awesome. They are assembled the traditional way, with meat, some chopped onion and cilantro. You probably can have them hold the sour cream if you choose. Both dishes were delicious. I look forward to going back and definitely have them cater my next office Mexican fiesta.

I wasn’t expecting this for mall food. We ordered a chicken taco salad and it came with chips and their homemade salsa! It was full of fresh ingredients and not oily! Tried their horchata and it was very flavorful & creamy with good flavor! Fresca was so fresh, and wasn’t watered down. The owner was very friendly! This is not your typical Mexican food place, and well worth 5 stars — I would come back in a heartbeat!

It’s a decent taqueria. The artsy presentation is definitely 5 star. One of a kind! The food however was lacking. Might have been because it was the end of the day. Dry rice, meh frijoles and the absence of fresh pico de gallo is what makes this place only ok for me.

Very very happy to discover the the Hillsdale Mall food court location is just as good as Burlingame Golf Center. I was a little hesitant at first bc I’ve had some awful food court experiences but this was not disappointing at all! I’ve visited the Burlingame location a few times and have been so impressed with the food, friendliness of staff and of course presentation !! I work a few blocks away from this ones and took my foodie coworker and he also loved it! My fav dish has to be the fajita bowl! It’s so satisfying and filling!!! I think they do a great job with the quality of the food and even though this is located in the food court they still have the same amazing presentation which is awesome!!! Love love love!

Never would I have ever thought to choose to eat the the food court when I wasn’t initially there to go to the mall for shopping, but me and my friend ended up here by the pictures on Unilocal of their cool plating. I got the shrimp quesadilla and it was okay. The shrimp were small and not super fresh and other than that, it was literally just cheese and tortilla with all bit of pico de gallo. The cool things was that they turned my quesadilla into a star and decorated it. My friend got the taco salad and that looked really cool as well. Overall though, it looks really cool, but the food was just alright.

I had some business to handle in the mall and stumbled on this gem which totally thwarted my assumptions about«mall food». I decided on the taco salad with shrimp which was as good as it looked! I want to assume the gentleman who made my salad owns the place or at least runs it. He was proud of his creation in presentation and of course that it would be every bit as delectable as it looked. No worries! I inhaled this taco salad in a flour tortilla shell, with beans, lettuce, rice, shrimp, roasted vegetables and topped with salsa, guacamole, sour Cream and cheese. Next time, I’m caught in the mall hungry. I will definitely return for some Mexican goodness.

I can see why their general Unilocal rating is so high, the guys here are super friendly and the food has unique presentation. Authenticity wise, the taste was in between Chipotle side and my local taqueria. Their taco salad looked like a sun and tasted good. Their freshly squeezed agua fresca was heavy on the ice but refreshing. Little bit better than average Mexican mall food. If you’re with kids then this place is perfect with the unique designs, otherwise, I think I’d rather get better burrito for a better price at my local taqueria.
