Erik was prompt to respond to all of my inquiries about pricing and food options. He was also able to arrange for delivery and set up at my home while I was at my graduation ceremony.
My menu included a cheese platter, chicken skewers, fruit tray, turkey arams, turkey meatloaf, carrots, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, mini cheesecake, lemon bars, and brownies. All the food except for the samosas were exceptional! I received compliments from all of my guests on the food.
Price was so reasonable that I kept adding last minute items. :) They also came back a couple of days later to pick up all their glassware and chaffing dishes.

We have catered several events with Cheese Please with groups varying in size and purpose. Every experience with the company, from ordering to delivery and presentation to the quality of the food, has been exceptional! They are prompt, professional, friendly and have fantastic customer service.
We will happily continue to use them in the future.

Cheese Please provided the catering for a birthday party we hosted at GoKart Racers in Burlingame. The caterer was easy to work with and provided a great selection of menus to choose from. He returned my calls and emails promptly. The food was good and received several compliments at the party. The food and server arrived right on time, and the server was very helpful during the party in getting drinks, arranging the food, cutting the cake, etc.

I have used Cheese Please for numerous events ranging from 10 to 120 people and have not once been disappointed. They have catered several wine and cheese/​appetizers office receptions (70 to 120ppl), a full barbeque picnic lunch (80ppl), elegant brunch (50ppl) intimate breakfast (10ppl). All menus were fabulous, great value, and professional and courteous staff. Rental prices are also very reasonable.

I selected this caterer for my daughter’s high school graduation party and could not have been more pleased! The website was easy to use, my phone call was returned immediately and working with this caterer was simple and easy. I was unsure of how much food I would need to order and was given an honest opinion which turned out to be the exact amount. The presentation was beautiful, the food was fresh and delicious and I received constant compliments the entire party.
This will be my go-​to caterer for any future events/​celenbrations!

Very good for corporate events.
We had a lunch for about 20 people with «The Tuscan Luncheon.» When I walked into the room housing all the food, I knew that it was going to be a very delicious lunch.
And it was! I had some of the caprese salad, which was not bad. The mozzarella balls were less than ideal, but the grilled mozzarella slices were pretty good. I heard the tortellini were very good, but I don’t eat gluten, so I can only rate the chicken that went with it, which I was grateful they separately served from the tortellini.
These people came on time, and there was plenty of food to go around. Would definitely recommend.

Erik was very helpful and responsive. We had an office lunch for 25 people, and the food was plentiful, fresh and tasty. They arrived on time and set up quickly. Very nice people. Will definitely use them again.

Eric was great at accommodating our small budget. It’s the first time I’ve used a caterer so I was a bit nervous. We told him what we wanted to spend and he gave us several options. We had a delicious french toast casserole (they lent us the chaffing dish), a fruit platter, yogurts and granola, and orange juice… all for $ 11 per person. The food was garnished and visually appealing. We were able to avoid tax and the delivery fee by picking it up. The man who was there (Michael, I think) was so helpful. He let us borrow serving utensils and made sure we had everything we needed. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I remember when they were located at there old digs at 229 California Drive in Burlingame and was sad until I learned that they had moved to their present location at 12^th and B. .Some friends had a wonderful gift basket delivered to Cheese Please for us in light of my father’s passing. It was filled with summer esausage, cheese, crackers, cookies, and chocolate which are the usual things that you would expect. It was wonderful and the service is very friendly. So, for excellent gift baskets, cheeses, beer, wine, and spirits, and specialty foods with friendly service, Cheese Please cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys.

I just used Cheese Please for a bridal shower. I called two weeks ahead of time and Candy was great to work with. She was flexible with our changing needs and tweaked the menu so we got just what we wanted in terms of menu and pricing. The food was ready for pick-​up just as scheduled. Even better, our guests loved the finger sandwiches and desserts.

I have absolutely no idea how this place maintains a 5 star rating. do I smell employees rating their own company? employees friends maybe? no?
I would give them a 2.5 if I could. Come on Unilocal give us half stars!
The person that helped me set this up was nice, friendly, and helpful. There was no problem with her. Candy was her name I think?
Anyhow, I used them for a company event at GoKart racer for about 30 people.
We paid $ 1500+ for nacho’s, fajitas, some desert thingy, and a little beer.
We ate less than half of it, and not because they brought too much food.
Maybe my coworkers are spoiled. we have company chefs that make out lunch and dinner at work everyday and they pretty much kick ass.
At the end of the event everyone was happy with everything except the food. I heard «the catering sucked» from several people. Since I set the event up I felt bad about this…
GoKart racer only offers 5 caterers that they allow and this place actually called me back (others did but much too late) so we picked them.
The food and drinks total could not have cost them more that maybe $ 250?
Our team would have been happier with cheap chinese takeout or some random mexican hole in the wall… which we could have gotten for $ 250.
I won’t use them again.
It’s a shame because our company has 250 employees and caters large events several times a month. They could have earned a lot of business had they done a better job with our small team. =(

Cheese Please was GREAT. I wish I could give them 4.9 stars because really the only slight negative comment I can make is that I assumed my rentals would arrive with the caterers, and in fact everything showed up earlier. This worked out ok, but since friends were hosting the party, I had a moment of panic wondering if they were going to be around and awake at 8am on a Saturday morning!
Other than that, these caterers are awesome. I organized my dad’s entire surprise birthday party from Chile, so I can say for sure that Erik is great at checking e-​mail and getting back to you! My dad is allergic to garlic, and there was no problem coming up with a garlic-​free menu. Some of the best restaurants in the Bay Area look at you like you’re the weirdest, worst client they’ve ever had if you ask for a meal without garlic, so the ease with which Cheese Please found alternatives for our all-​appetizer menu was a nice change!
The three guys who came on the day of our event were friendly and helpful — they even brought ice and helped us set up the bar area, despite the fact that we were doing a self-​serve bar rather than using their bartender! Everyone commented on how good all of the food was, service throughout the party was top notch, and the chef didn’t even mind when everyone moved to the kitchen to steal food off the plates before he could set it out :) I will definitely use Cheese Please again!

I have been in the events and meetings industry for over 13 years and have worked with Cheese Please from the beginning. They have been a consistent partner and my first choice any time I have local catering needs for both corporate and private events.

I contacted Cheese Please 3 weeks before a graduation brunch for my son from college. With many out of town guest and the busy weekend events — catering is the way to go. Other Unilocal reviews encouraged me to try Cheese Please
The initial conversation went well. Date was fine, we went through menus, price, staffed event and tables, etc. We talked about the budget with all food, staff, tables etc being about $ 40/​pp.
It took about a week to get a bid on from the catering person. The bid was about $ 80/​pp. Double the initial discussion. When I panicked that 10 days before the event — I was way out of budget. Candy told me she could work with me on the event and menu. We could get it down to something reasonable.
Ten minutes later Candy was told to call me back from the owner of the company to explain that my event was too small for them and not worth the business. Thus I should find another caterer.
So much for Cheese Please. 10 days before the event and I am back at square one.

food catering service… delicious cheeses… and gift baskets. cheese please caters fresh and delicious meals… try them out if you are looking for a caterer in the peninsula area…
the continental breakfast.$ 10 per person… the breakfast breads are sooo delicious… so moist and dense… the fruits looked very fresh (i’m allergic to fruit, so i don’t eat the stuff)…
the avenue luncheon.$ 16 per person… focaccia sandwiches. the bread was so soft and fresh… with fresh spinach and tomatoes… with tasty chicken… the vegetarian mushroom sandwiches weren’t bad at all… the spinach salad with mandarin oranges and caramelized walnuts in honey-​mustard dressing was sooooo yummy… if you order a different lunch package… still substitute with the spinach salad… ask for dressing on the side…
