10th Planet Jiu Jitsu San Mateo specializes in providing World Class No-​Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training. Most Brazilian Jiu Jitsu schools focus on traditional Gi Jiu Jitsu where a kimono is required for most techniques. 10th Planet San Mateo focuses only on no gi jiu jitsu techniques that are not dependent on what your opponent is wearing.

Head Instructor and 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu black belt Adam «Big Red» Sachnnoff specializes in a welcoming environment for beginners and experienced grapplers.

History

Established in 2014.

10th Planet Jiu Jitsu was created by Eddie Bravo in 2002 after he defeated Royler Gracie at the ADCC world championships. World Champion Denny Prokopos of 10th Planet San Francisco became the first black belt under Eddie Bravo. One of Denny’s top Students was Adam Sachnoff. Adam Sachnoff won multiple world championships and was the first 10th Planet student to ever win the ADCC North American trials. He went on to win the 2012 10th planet warrior of the year award. Adam Sachnoff is now opening his own 10th Planet school in San Mateo.

Adam Sachnoff, also known as Big Red was born in San Francisco. His fascination with martial arts started at an early age. Throughout his life time he has trained in Taekwondo, Boxing, Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu, NO-​GI Jiu-​Jitsu, Judo and Muay Thai.

He is an established world class Jiu-​Jitsu competitor and a ADCC Veteran. His competition accomplishments include three world titles and winning the ADCC north American Trials for a free trip to china and a chance to compete for $ 10,000. Adam is a Black Beltt under Denny Prokopos of 10th Planet San Francisco. In 2012 Adam won 10th Planet Nibiru Warrior of the Year.

He specializes in creating an atmosphere where everyone can enjoy his class from the most seasoned athletes to people with no athletic background looking to get into shape.
