So happy to have found La Costa Upholstery! Took my vintage dining chairs in to get the seats recovered and just got them back. The job they did is incredible! Looks better than I could have imagined; they even made sure to center the fabric print on the center of the cushions. Pricing was fair and better than quotes that I had received from their competitors. Turnaround was so fast, I couldn’t believe it. So happy, I’ll definitely use them again in the future.

The people at La Costa Upholstery were very professional. Roger came out to measure and there were many-​many fabric books to browse through. We are very happy with the work and would recommend this company to anyone.

La Costa Upholstery took on a very large job when we showed up. We asked that they create custom large 5″ thick cushion sections for a metal loft structure we’d built and installed in our home in San Jose, CA. We’d made templates, come home to visit our parents in Encinitas, and heard this was the place to get quality custom upholstery. We presented them with large templates of each section, each with several notches as the pieces had to conform to the irregular shapes caused by various metal plates and bolts.
What we received was beyond anything we’d imagined! We knew our request was difficult and the size and shapes less than ideal to work with, but Roger and his team at La Costa Upholstery delivered a product that was amazing in quality and precision.
Thank you to the whole team for a perfect job that was well worth the price. We’ll definitely spread the word and be customers for life.

Just took my couch cushions home newly filled with fresh foam. Wow! What a difference! We have a U shaped couch we purchased from Macy’s four years ago with chaise lounge and wanted new filling in the cushions that are most sat on. Now, seeing what can be, we will be calling tomorrow to get the rest if the cushions done. The refilled cushions from La Costa upholstery feel so much better than the cushions that are never sat on. Fair price, done professionally and timely. I highly recommend!

We moved into our new home a few months back and had La Costa Upholstery recover several pieces. I can’t comment on pricing because I didn’t shop around but the work was high-​quality and Roger and Margaret are very easy to work with. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Heard about La Costa Upholstery through the grape vine. When it came time for us to do some re-​upholstery work that is where I turned. We started with re-​stuffing our family room sectional. It has a great frame and fabric but the cushions were more than tired. Because of my husband’s back problems we had it re-​stuffed with firmer foam. It is like a better than a brand new couch and much better for my husband’s back.
Next we decided to refinish our mid-​century dining room set and then had La Costa Upholstery re-​upholster the chairs. This involved taking the teak chairs apart as well as replacing the seats and backing. Again, their results were fantastic, the re-​upholstery work and new fabric made the chairs look much better than they were originally.
Last but by no means least; we decided to have our living room sofa re-​upholstered. I looked and looked for fabric but could find nothing that pleased me. I thought I had exhausted all for La Costa’s fabric choices when I happened to go into the work room to see some pillow style options. Looking back at me was the most beautiful fabric and a most creative solution to pillows and arm styles. It opened up my mind to new possibilities. We discussed design changes I had not thought possible. The result is I worked with La Costa to restyle the pillows and sofa to make it a more contemporary style, added legs to match out coffee table and had them custom make an apron for the sofa to protect it from our cat’s curious claws. The result was amazing. We have loved this couch for years but with La Costa’s help we ended up with a custom designed beauty we will enjoy for years to come. And the custom sofa apron is indeed successful in keeping our cat from shredding the couch.
La Costa Upholstery attention to customer needs their attention to detail and their workmanship will have me singing their praises often. They are prompt and very professional. I highly recommend them. And I recommend you let them help you think outside the box for your upholstery needs.

Stopped by today to check out some fabric samples and had the good fortune to meet the owner. He was very helpful and friendly, kept the shop open past closing to help me pick out a fabric that I liked, then had a wonderful conversation while he checked out two sample books to me. They had an amazing selection of fabric samples available, and the prices were very fair. Great experience — I’ll be back!

My wife and I have been using La Costa Upholstery for all our upholstery needs since 2002. We had a 1930’s Rococo living room set (sofa and two chairs) reupholstered initially. We had four bar stools reupholstered several years ago and are now having them reupholster several sofa cushions for us. Excellent craftsmanship and great service. Highly recommend them!

We love our sectional — we’ve loved it for all 20 years we have owned it. When it was time to look for a replacement we found it was irreplaceable, they just don’t make them like they used to. Luckily, we found La Costa Upholstery who reupholstered it for us.
Roger (the owner) came out, measured it and made suggestions on how to further improve it. It was clear he knew his business inside out. We selected a fabric from an extensive collection of samples in his showroom and did the deal.
Today, six weeks later as promised, our new sectional was delivered. I say new because it looks and feels new, perhaps even a little better than when it was new for the first time.
Now it’s good for another 20 years.

These guys are amazing. My beloved 12 year old family room couch cushions needed new stuffing. Everyone else wanted them for 2 — 3 weeks — meaning we’d be without a usable couch for that long. At La Costa Upholstery, Roger ordered the materials on Wednesday. I dropped the cushions off at 9am on Friday and picked them up at 4pm. A 7 hour turnaround, at one third the cost of three other competitive bids… What more can you ask for?

We’re very pleased with the work done by La Costa Upholstery. We brought in a set of dining chairs to have just the seats recovered as the backs didn’t really need it. As we’re not good at picking out materials or selecting colors we relied on Margret’s expertise to pick out a fabric. The results were great and the cost was well within what I expected to pay. It was a pleasure to do business with this company.

I can’t say enough about this company! I called on Monday. they picked up my sofa, helped me decide what I wanted my slipcover to look like, picked it up, and had it back by Thursday morning. It is GORGEOUS! They are extremely detail oriented in their work plus they’re quick. The price was unbeatable too. Excellent work. HIGHLY recommend.

I loved my 12 yr old Crate and Barrel sofa, ottoman and chair, but the fabric was tired and stained. The frame was solid hardwood, so we decided to reupholster. Best decision ever. Looks brand new!

I first contacted La Costa Upholstery when I needed replacement foam for a sofa cushion. They were prompt, professional and priced right and the new foam turned out fantastic! I recently had to replace the foam in another cushion and even though I now live over 45 minutes from this shop I didn’t look anywhere else. They will always have my business.
