Pretty okay. Every time I go to a Thai place I order some curry, this time I decided to try the drunken noodles. The flavors were okay, not too spicy nor bland but it just didn’t blow my mind. The yellow curry that my husband had was better in my opinion, very creamy and tasty; but I’ve definitely had better. The restaurant itself is lovely and cozy, even a tad romantic.

Very, very delicious! The«vibe» in the restaurant is great… it’s relaxing and chill! The music sets the tone for a wonderful meal. We ordered the drunken noodles and fried vegetable appitizer. The spice level was on point and the veggies were tastie. They serve a special water, it’s crisp and prob the best water I’ve ever had.

I enjoyed my grilled salmon with vegetables very much. Although prices for appetizers were way too expensive at an average of $ 7.95 each. I don’t think my salmon was fresh… more than likely farmed/frozen but the fresh vegetables on top made a huge difference. I will give this place another chance.

Delish! Spotted King and I while driving home from work one day and on a whim tried it out. Kinda funny Gary R. is a fan too so when I mentioned I was considering I he also gave them a good recommendation. The food is awesome. I love the pad se ew(probably not spelled right but whatev. I get it with the mock chicken but if you eat chicken I’m sure you’d like it too because the flavor rocks. Also one of my faves is their tofu salad. It’s a pile of deep fried tofu on a cabbage salad with a spicy citrus dressing. The dressing is so good, I could eat it on anything. Service is typically pretty quick and always friendly. I’m only dinging them a star because of the general dining room cleanliness. It isn’t gross dirty, just kind of old dusty dirty. They décor needs a little spring cleaning. I know it sounds picky but when you come for a night out, you wanna feel clean. Otherwise this is my fave spot in North County for Thai food.

I came here with a friend last night about 40 minutes before closing(we arrived at 8:50PM) on Black Friday. The place is within footsteps from IHOP, which at first seemed a bit off layout-wise. But seeing as all the other thai restaurants in the San Marcos area closed at 9:00PM, we didn’t have much of a choice. We walked into a cozy restaurant nice décor fitting for a Thai restaurant with the traditional Thai décor. The restaurant has an additional large room in the back for additional seating. We sat in a booth and were seated immediately. When I looked at the menu, I was excited: they offer mock chicken AND mock duck in addition to tofu as a vegetarian/vegan choice! I’ve tried mock chicken before, but never mock duck– much less at a restaurant. In addition to the usual meat choices, you can also order roasted duck, calamari, and fish too. I was ecstatic. Since I like to try new things and my friend is vegetarian, it worked out perfectly for us. We ordered the mock chicken pad thai and the pineapple curry with mock duck. The mock chicken tasted not so great, unfortunately. My friend said it tasted like gluten. I liken it to a mix between plastic and the ends of the Vietnamese ham(cha lua). The pad thai noodles, however, were very flavorful with the sauce mixed very well. The noodles were a bit stuck together, but I know that they were trying to make our orders quickly before the kitchen closed down. The pineapple curry was okay. The portions were a bit on the smaller end. I felt like the meat was barely peeking out of the curry sauce itself. The mock duck was surprisingly interesting. When I looked carefully, I could see the imitation duck skin around the«meat» portion of each piece. And maybe I was just willing it, but I really did think that it even had that extra chewy, fatty texture to it like normal duck skin has! The mock duck itself is nothing much to write home about, but it was an in interesting option to select. We ordered the papaya salad($ 7.95) as an appetizer, and it was the worst one I’ve had in years. The papaya was not julienned as tin as I would have wanted them to be; they looked like string french fries instead of the usual thin julienned pieces I’m used to seeing. There was way too much lime juice used, making the salad very acidic. The variety of ingredients were also more sparse than I’m used to. It was my friend’s first time trying papaya salad, and I wanted him to have a tasty virginal experience with it. Unfortunately, he just mentioned in a polite way, «It’s good!» I was very disappointed. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they allowed us to stay until 30 minutes past closing in order for us to get the full dining experience. A+ on that. Overall, the dishes were meh for the price(prices generally start $ 11.95 with upcharges on certain meat choices) and portion, although I am biased because I love my thai dishes with true meat. The papaya salad is all on them though. I’d still order their pad thai here with chicken next time; it would probably be amazing.

Good food… but meals come out at different times so it’s hard to eat together. But the Thai Iced Coffee & Iced Tea are to die for! I’m in heaven… my new vice! We started w/the Golden Bags… tasty wonton wrapped yummies w/a hint of curry! The deep fried sweet potatoes w/coconut batter are good… but nothing special. I had the Pad See #49… Lightly sweet soy sauce flavoring… so good! Hubby had the Panang Curry, he said it was very good! Our friends split the Green Vegetable & Chicken curry & they said it was excellent, just right on the spices. The potstickers we ordered as appetizer came AFTER the meal…& I had to remind them. When they arrived, they weren’t cooked so we sent them back. They are the potstickers you get from Costco so I don’t recommend ordering them! Overall ok place.

Best Thai food I’ve ever had. Everyone I’ve brought here says the same. I’ve yet to find another Thai place where the yellow curry can even compare. The manager and staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is both fun and relaxing.

My family and I used to come to this place a lot. We noticed that the quantity of food has decreased. We used to have leftovers when we ordered 4 plates(for a party of 3) now the portion sizes have been smaller and we had to place an additional order to be full. But overall, the food is still delicious. I highly recommend the Tom yum soup with seafood

Ordered a to go order and no forks or napkin? Do you think that I’m a bear and eat my food with my paws? Lacking service big time and there was no one in the restaurant and it was 1hr until closing time smh and my mango tasted like onion im guessing they used a knife that had just been used to cut onion or something… very disappointing… called owner she told me to bring it back tomorrow because she said I was lying smh… why would I bother calling if It would’ve actually been good… bad business

Customer service could use some work. It took about 20 mins for our party of 10 to be seated on a Saturday night. While this is acceptable when the restaurant is packed, such was not the case here. Restaurant did have patrons but there were also some empty tables. We were seated in a private room which was nice. Our waiter was awesome. He was so tentative to us and we never had to hunt him down. He randomly came in the room to check on us but not so often as to not allow us to enjoy our meal. He got a bit confused with our dessert order but we worked it out and eventually all came our perfectly. All the food was delicious. The only thing that could have made it better are the portions. Fried rice portion was big. The spicy beef salad was tiny, maybe a maximum of only 5 – 6 bites. The golden dumplings portion was perfect for us. The tom yum was slightly on the small side. The angel wings were also on the small side. The glass noodle salad was of average size. I’d come back next time and order maybe more servings of the dishes now that I know the portion size.

The restaurant is quaint with a variety of Thai choices! My husband and I ordered a level 6 heat Vegetable Penang curry and drunken noodles. The heat and quality of the vegetables is really nice. Unfortunately, the curry does taste a bit like sauce out of a can and the drunken noodles were too oily for my taste. On the bright side, the customer service was great!

This place was so peaceful and quiet. So nice to get way form work. Went on my lunch break and made it back in time. Lunch specials are filling portions. Tom-Yum soup was delicious and their yellow chicken curry was The bomb. Five stars

Took a customer out for lunch. I had a lunch special. small House soup, salad and red curry with some brown rice. My two favorite things were the salad and the curry. The flavor and texture were perfect the vegetables and beef were thin sliced and were nicely cooked. The restaurant is small, probably not so good for large groups. The decoration did not look not really fancy, but I was definitely very clean. For the two of us the total was $ 29.00 after tip.

Love the location! I really like thai food so this place is one of my favorites! I love the pad see ew and the thai iced tea! Staff are friendly sometimes hard to understand if they have an accent. But overall a great place to eat.

We ordered take out at King and I after our first choice Kinaly Thai was closed. King and I is $ 2 – 3 more per dish than Kinaly which caused us only to get two dishes. We had number 37 Pad Kar — Pao and drunken noodle. I prefer the drunken noodle more as it was much more exciting. With a take out order I didn’t get the full experience so I will have to update my review next time. From my experience it was an average Thai experience that was $ 1 or $ 2 more than I would like per dish. There are a ton of Thai options in San Diego so you really should be having 4 and 5 star experiences!

Kinaly Thai is my favorite and for a reasonable price. It was closed today. There are some expensive Thai places in North County San Diego. This option is a decent second. Food We have found the food to be fresh and authentic. When taking it home it was well packaged and rice containers did seem smaller than others I have received from other places. Their«coconut soup» is my favorite and noticed that their version had the basics(e.g. Chicken, potatoes and mushrooms). Their satay chicken is smaller in portion sizes. The food needed a kick and we were not asked if we wanted it spicy. Service This is a fine place for your basic service. Whether eating out of in, they are efficient and friendly. Place is clean.

There’s a lot to overlook here to even get these two stars. Admittedly, I just got some Tom Yum and brown rice takeout at lunch and not a whole meal with lots of components. The place is a bit of a disaster, the kind that makes you really question what you’re about to ingest: open storage areas; register area is a mess; random looking people peeking into the kitchen asking for things for(their?) tables; and general chaos. For unreal food, all things you’ll happily overlook, though still worrisome. The Tom Yum wasn’t bad, chopped a little difficult to avoid the galangal and lemongrass, but pretty tasty. They tossed in the mushrooms so they’re just waterlogged, which is pretty much my least favorite characteristic in some thai soups. Given that I usually go for this soup for some medicinal qualities, i.e. I feel sick, I grab some Tom Yum to fight the evil germs… I’ll probably pass on this place based on the state of things inside. I realize this might be something to overlook, for any number of reasons, but I really do like my chefs fastidious with their environments and this was difficult to love.

Definitely my go-to place for Thai food in north county!!! Last time I went I tried their Tom Kha, Glass noodles and mango sticky rice. Tonight, I tried their beef noodle soup on their special menu! Also Penang curry with roasted duck and angel’s wings. … Of course we concluded the meal with our favorite mango sticky rice again! Flavors are amazing here. Every bite is so well balanced. Nothing is overdone. The Tom Kha is served in a flaming soup pot. The fuel runs out pretty much the same time when you’re done. the soup itself is refreshing as a great starter because it’s light and sour. Their glass noodles are cooked with tender meat and fresh vegetables and the dish is properly seasoned like a good pad see ew. If their special is still going on, order the beef noodle soup!!! My God! So, this is like the fusion of Tom yum soup and Vietnamese phở. Heard that?! You have best of both worlds in one bowl for 8 bucks. the soup base itself is a bowl of delicious Tom yum soup! Not to mention the Al dente Phở noodles and the juicy beef slices. And now I present the glorious, majestic, magnificent mango sticky rice! Fresh cubes of mango accompanied with soft chewy rice served with sweet coconut cream and topped with roasted sesame seed. If your mouth doesn’t start watering, there’s something wrong with you.(or I’m just a bad writer.) service is quick and friendly. prices are reasonable. Plenty of parking in restaurant row.(it’s next to ihop and opposite to penny lane by the way). Come here for your Thai food fix!!!(still full and it’s 5 hours already… Burp)
