UGS is a full service graphics company committed to learning and service operated by select students from Cal Poly’s competitively ranked graphic communication programs. Our managers are experts in print, color, prepress, graphic design, web design, and embodying Cal Poly’s learn by doing motto. Our company is supported by industry leaders which results in products of professional grade quality, quick turnaround times, unbeatable prices and energetic customer service.

If you’re looking for an eco friendly solution for printing, UGS has a Forest Stewardship Council ® certification, which promotes the responsible management of forests. By choosing to print your job FSC certified, you are partnering with UGS and committing to the highest social and environment standards within the printing industry. FSC stock paper guarantees the paper is derived from well managed forests.

Recently, UGS has created UGS Print & Copy, a complete retail printing center that provides quick print services on campus. Our printed products will shortly be available for order online. Through shared knowledge and the support of the Graphic Communication Department at Cal Poly, we deliver unique solutions in print, design, marketing and web development services that enable our clients to move forward in their business and personal initiatives. Look out for the launch of our GrC brand apparel coming this Fall!

History

Established in 1968.

UGS has been an integral part of the Graphic Communication Department’s educational program since 1968.

As a student-​run company, UGS values continuous learning, constructive self-​criticism, continual self-​improvement, integrity, relationships, mutual respect, teamwork, openness, clear communication, and personal and company excellence. We appreciate creative design, vibrant color and understand the importance of personal customer service. We place a high value on relationships with our clients and have a passion for print, design and web development. We pride ourselves in accomplishing any challenge and surpassing clients’ expectations. We pursue the opportunity to learn and grow our skills through partnerships with corporate sponsors, the Graphic Communication Department, Cal Poly Corporation, the Cal Poly campus, and the greater San Luis Obispo area.
