I’ve been here a couple times for my car & work cars. I always feel that they truly care & give fair prices. Easygoing, friendly, & honest people. They don’t take appointments but I typically spend an hour there average which isn’t bad. I like that they keep you informed and don’t just tell you what they want to do. They tell you what’s wrong, ask what you are looking for or want, then suggest accordingly.

I was referred to this tire store by a good friend when my then Honda Civic needed all four tires replaced. The gentleman that assisted me was very friendly and courteous, he immediately pulled up several sets at different prices and let me decide based on my budget. Of course the price was almost half of what the dealer or any other place I had received quotes from. I plan on going to see him soon for a new set on a different auto and I have also recommended this place to my son for his Silverado and he has was satisfied with the service and pricing as well.
Don’t get discouraged by the several autos and busy atmosphere. If you don’t mind hanging out in downtown SLO while you wait, it is worth the drive! Keep up the great service!

My daughter goes to school in SLO and I sent her here based on reviews and location for a flat tire. They patched the tire, remounted it and the spare and did not charge her. Couldn’t be happier knowing that they took such good care of her.

Fair tire and brake shop that doesn’t try to BS or upsell you for anything you don’t need. Smart strategy, they are honest, and thus their business is return customers. Get there early. The parking lot is busy and a madhouse, a good sign, they have tons of customers because their prices are fair and customer service is excellent.

Passing through town on vacation and got a flat tire on our rental car. We took the flat to The Tire Store and they had it patched within 30 minutes and we were back on the road. Very nice guys and they work fast!!! Absolutely recommend.

While traveling through San Luis Obispo on my way to San Francisco, my tire gage came on in my car. It turned out that I had a nail in the tire and it was doubtful if it could be fixed or if I would need a new tire. The first tire store I went to didn’t have a tire for my car and they directed me to The Tire Store. They managed to patch it and didn’t charge me anything for the labor! Great customer service, I would definitely buy tires from them if I lived in the area.

This place was highly recommended to me by my mechanic to replace my tires. He described it as «Costco Prices, but everyone there is actually an expert on tires.» Regardless, I still did some price hunting around town, and it turned out that the quote they gave me at The Tire Store was the best deal I could find anyway! So I decided to give them a try. I took my car in on a Friday during lunchtime, apparently an incredibly busy time. Nevertheless, it took under an hour to get my tires changed and balanced. The service was quick, efficient, and affordable.
Here’s the kicker. I get home and I see a HUGE screw in my now flat brand new tire. Frustrating to say the least. The tires were perfect when I started the drive home so I must have picked this up randomly on the way. Thankfully, the Tire Store is open on Saturdays, so I went there first thing the next morning, and they switched out my tire in no time at all. It was amazing. I was back home within an hour and a half from the time I left.
I definitely understand now why my mechanic, who is amazing, recommended them so highly. If you need new tire, go the the Tire Store!

Only one thing I can say that I didn’t read in the other reviews: They have given me a free used tire before. I was broke and couldn’t pay for it but they didn’t want me driving on the donut that I had. Needless to say I’ve never done business anywhere else since and I will stay loyal to them. These guys are just great. Honest, kind and compassionate; these are not attributes you find at a tire store usually. But they have them.

These guys were recommended by a repair shop in Arroyo Grande and they weren’t lying, these guys were great! The lug nut key to my locking lug nuts became stripped so I brought it in to see if they could get the lug nuts off. They fit me right in and had me out the door in under an hour, and they were busy. The wouldn’t even accept payment! That goes above and beyond service. Just as comparison, a «Big Brand» shop in Arroyo wanted $ 55 to do the same job. Any shop willing to do that is a shop that I trust and they have earned my business in the future. Thanks guys.

I’ve never been steered wrong at the tire store. Been getting all of my tires here for over ten years now. They’ll be the first to tell you if you don’t need new tires (instead of just making a sale because they can), their customer service is amazing, and they take care of you very well. Definitely recommended!
Tip: Get there right when they open if you haven’t scheduled an appointment or you may have to wait a little, they fill up fast!

Bought a used car a few weeks ago and noticed that the tires needed a balance. Went in told them and they confirmed. 30 mins later, done. Great price and as always kick butt work.
When ever I buy tires this is the place to go. Call around and you will see they are the cheapest in town. A friend of mine used to work there, (Brian) I’ve seen him at times beating the TireRack prices. Place is always busy, but worth the wait. I never mind waiting for top notch service I get here.

The Tire Store is a great tire shop; I’ve been having them take care of tires and alignments for years. I work in the automotive industry so I have higher standards for quality of work (compared to quality of coffee/​wall paintings/​waiting rooms) than most people. The Tire Store is a good old fashioned shop that does one thing and does them well. They aren’t trying to do everything in the world repair wise like Big Brand or Sears are attempting. They are undercar specialists.
The pricing is fair, the work is top notch. They are always extremely busy, so call and make an appointment! The only reason I don’t give them five stars is that they need to do something about their parking situation. It’s far less than pleasant, especially when they get deliveries and you are in a hurry to pick up your car. It’s rare to pull in without a traffic jam or with an available spot to park – you have to get creative. Again, call and make an appointment.
Their waiting room consists of a couple of chairs and a coffee maker. As it should. If you want a luxurious experience and free wifi and Starbucks, go to your dealer and pay a whole lot more. If you’re down for good old fashioned service and don’t view yourself as too good for a good olé greasy garage, give Kevin and Joe a call!

If you search «tires» or «auto shop» in Unilocal for san luis obispo, this place will be the first result, and there is an obvious reason why. They have the best customer service! They are a honest, hard-​working company that isn’t out to take advantage of you and take your money. don’t go anywhere else! for example, sears was going to charge $ 20 plus a little more just to fix my flat, but the tire store was willing to do it for free!
this place is perfect for college students. why? used tires are only $ 25 and a new one will run you about $ 50 – 60! I was worried I was going to have to shell out a lot of money for a tire, but this place put my worries aside. my used tire was a Pirelli with really good tread, and my friend went recently and got a used Michelin! Both well-​known brands! wait time is about 30 min-​1 hour tops for a quick fix
