I would absolutely NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The education is lacking, the teachers are often terrible or complete idiots that don’t seem to know what they’re teaching. You have to teach yourself. Their site often glitches, which had cause my husband to waste countless hours re doing exams because halfway through it suddenly erases everything and asks him to start over.
Lastly, but most importantly, the directors, receptionist, and all staff there are awful. They frequently put my husband in the wrong classes. He would have to contact them numerous times to get it corrected. A few times he was told «we close in 10 minutes so we can’t help you today. You need to call back tomorrow.»
I’ve seriously contemplated suing them to get our money back. THATS how bad they are.

Great College, Great Education, Challenging courses in IT and Networking 3D Animation, Gaming and Design. I have had nothing but the upmost respect for these people whom have helped everyone that has come to them for an education. They help with employment issues and give suggestions to you about how to find a job and even offer a portfilio class..

I decided to go to Laurus when I finished high school so I could go in to medical billing. I did not qualify for any financial aid, and because I’m under 25, I wasn’t allowed to take out a loan in my name, so my parents paid the entire 30k tuition. (Not Laurus’ fault, of course, however this brings me to my next point). And for 30k, I would expect a challenging, informative education. However what I’m getting at Laurus is middle school class after middle school class.
My favorite class so far has been my Introduction to Computers class, in which I learned what email is and how to use it (*sarcasm*). And this was my 5th class at an online school… Obviously, I had been using computers for at least 10 weeks at that point, so that was a complete waste of my time.
And not only do I have to take these incredibly simple classes, but some of my classmates have no idea what’s going on, they come in late on a regular basis, and I just know that they’re the people that barely had to pay anything to be here. It really frustrates me.
Like I’ve said, I’ve only taken about 5 classes so far, but my actual favorite class so far has been the Diagnosis Coding class. It was fun, challenging, interesting, and it made me really excited to start work as a coder. And all of the teachers and campus staff I’ve met so far have been very nice, helpful, and open with the students.
In conclusion, if you qualify for financial aid and you are really interested in one of the degrees Laurus is offering, go for it. But if you were one of the «smarter» kids in school and/​or you do not qualify for financial aid, you will most definitely be frustrated with the simplicity of a lot of these classes.
