Specialties

Ben Franklin’s Sandwich Company Since 1969. San Luis Obispo’s oldest sandwich shop. We serve huge east coast style sub sandwiches and a few classic Californian ones too! Don’t forget our Salads, Soups and Snacks to complete your meal. Locally owned and operated, we’ve been involved Cal Poly and Cuesta College since the beginning. Come see our classic art by local artist Hugh Slayden and our original redwood tables glassed by surfboard shaping legend Jerry Grantham. If you like a great sandwich served quickly in a clean, friendly environment, come on by!

History

Established in 1969.

Ben Franklins was opened in 1969. It was originally called Ben Franklin’s Electric House due to the owners passion for all things electrical. After 20 years of phone calls from people looking for electrical parts and supplies, the name was shortened to Ben Franklins Sandwiches. Ben Franklin’s has always been locally owned and operated with strong ties to local schools including Cal Poly and Cuesta College. We buy local, support local businesses and charities. Our menu has changed very little in our 45 years. We are always inventing new specials and items but we still love our classics. We hope to see you soon.
