SLO Camp N Pack

Went in looking for 1 thing and found it. The staff was very helpful and informative. There was a few things that also caught my eye so I will be back.

This place has a little of everything for the outdoor or military enthusiast. They also carry Proper brand tactical pants at a reasonable price, which are great for DIY projects around the house, or while hiking out on the trail. The staff here has been very helpful whenever I’ve needed something.

Love this place, I usually come here 1 or twice a month to check out the new gear or just to browse. The owner is super nice and the other employees are also very well knowledgeable.

I’m a historical reenactor attending Cal Poly, so this surplus store was definitely a place that I wanted to visit when I came by. Selection-​wise, it’s pretty average with your usual stocks of surplus army ACUs (that nobody wants to buy– for good reason too) and assorted BDUs in various sizes.
If you’re looking for European and Asian camouflage uniforms, you’re pretty much SOL. My friend bought a pair of German flecktarn pants but the store didn’t have the matching field shirt or even a smock. We were told that they get their stock basically by random from whoever they can pick stuff up from so it’s understandable. My local surplus store in Campbell, CA almost always had a good stock of foreign uniforms so perhaps I’ve been a bit spoiled.
The store also stocks a decent amount of Condor pouches and whatnot for your airsoft needs. Though not the best in quality, Condor stuff is cheap and gets the job done for the most part.
However, SLO Camp and Pack did have some interesting pouches and assorted goodies for some good prices. I found some Tactical Tailor and SDS pouches in a bin there, and was very tempted to pick them up. They also had some M1 helmets for $ 40, which was a better deal than I got mine for up north. On the other hand, their flight suits and crewman coveralls were way overpriced at around $ 50 – 60, where as I was able to get mine for $ 35 – 40. So it really depends on what you’re looking for.
If you’re in town, SLO camp and pack is definitely a place worth visiting. Staff is friendly and you might find some goodies.

Good selection of flashlights, knives, and obscure stuff. Friendly staff and good prices. I usually am able to find some army surplus stuff like cases or packs that I need. They have special ordered some stuff for me.

SLO Camp and Pack was the only Army Surplus store I could find in the area. They had exactly what I was searching (needed). I’m going camping and when packing the zipper on my duffle bag broke. Once I arrived I asked the store clerk what they had. She walked me over and they had three sizes in two colors. I picked the largest (21×50) and paid $ 37. Good quality product for a fair price. One star down grade for store size. It’s the smallest Surplus store I have been to. I would shop here again.

we neglected to account for the cooler mornings/​evenings in SLO, so we were drawn in to the store by a barrel out front with «used/​new» clothing for 1 $. we found a pair of pants that fit and didn’t look too used. kept the wifey warm during our night bike ride. friendly service.

Fantastic store for outdoor activity gear. Some of their stuff (like really great hiking socks) is even cheaper than you’ll see at big box retailers. It’s always nice to be able to support a locally-​owned business and still pay fair prices. Worth a trip! They have an excellent selection.

I visited this store several months while visiting the area. The staff was rude and watched every move you made while in their store. Customer service –Fail. They sell a lot of junk brands in their store including condor at a premium price. Quality — fail
Overall experience– fail. Shop amazon and forget this dump!

Dropped off my knife to be sharpened on the 18^th of January and was told it would take 12 days to get back to me. It ended up taking 40 days to get back to me and the woman working there gave me an attitude the two times I dropped by to see what the hold up was. She also gave a woman from the Navy who was buying a few bumper stickers an attitude, but was more than friendly with a man who was buying a $ 180.00 knife. Not the type of people I want to do business with again.

They always have what we are looking for with active Boy Scouts and regular camping trips.
All of the staff members have been friendly, informed, and helpful in finding anything they don’t have in stock.

Great little store. Very good selection of authentic camo wear. Bought a pair of digital camo pants. The lady was really helpful. 5 star service.

My husband and I were visiting from out of town and wanted to check out the local businesses. My hubby’s into prepping lately so he had quite a list of things he needed. He had a few items in his hand and we were headed into the back room when this blonde lady insists we leave the stuff at the counter. I understand a place needs to protect themselves from theft — I’m just saying they should be able to do that without offending people. Well, epic fail this time. My husband was extremely angry and refused to spend a penny! We won’t be returning.

fun place to go and daydream. staff is cool and eager to help. one dude there knows soooo much about knives its awesome.

figures I’d be the first to review this place. Been shopping here for years, but the new owner has really shaped up the place. THE spot for army surplus in SLO. A bit on the expensive side for surplus, but not much more than the usual SLO tax. They also have loads of new stuff for camping. I always check here first when I need something to repair a pack or some gear for a trip. Better than Big 5 by far, and a cool local business that needs your support.
