Wow the service has gotten EVEN WORSE since I last used it a year ago. Didn’t even think that was possible.
So Charles promised my stuff would be delivered between 3 – 8 pm on Tuesday but it never came. I called multiple times and nobody picked up until I sent an email expressing my disappointment. Then Charles called me ASAP and said something was wrong with the truck and would deliver my stuff the next day. ONLY IN THE AFTERNOON THOUGH. He said he’d deliver the stuff between 3 – 5 pm.
The next day comes and I’m waiting at home from 3 pm. At 5 pm, I called Charles asking where the delivery guys are. He said honestly the stuff won’t be delivered by 5:30 and said the delivery guys would call me to give me a rough estimate. I waited until 8:30 and NOBODY has called me yet, so I call Charles again. I ask him why they haven’t given me a call and he says that he’s left an «urgent message» for them. I simply ask him «When did you leave the message?» so I can understand when they’d call me and his response was «I DON’T THINK YOU SHOULD BE ASKING ME THAT.» He was giving ME attitude when I should be giving him attitude.
Guess when the delivery guys came? 9:56 pm. More than 24 hours after the promised delivery time.
So keep in mind that Charles just makes up this random delivery times and does not hire enough delivery guys. Be ready to get upset haha that’s all I can say.

I’ve used this moving company twice so far, and am just about to book them again.
So far I have found the workers to be competent and good workers. Boxes and furniture packed in a timely manner and unpacked just the same.
I saw a few reviews that said there were issues with packing. I’ve had my items packed before the movers arrived so I did not run into that issue. They did tape a few boxes shut for me that were missing tape, which was very helpful.
I’m glad I hired them before and I hope they are available for my next moving date to use them again!

If you are reading this, CONGRATULATIONS! This is your first step towards choosing a moving company and you can now definitely weed this company OUT! These guys are the most unprofessional, rude, unorganized and under qualified to handle your personal belongings. One would think that a moving company would have your belongings moved safely and efficiently as possible; however these guys literally will tell you like they told us, «that’s what happens when you move, things break.» Who the hell says that??? When paying over a$ 1000 for a company to move your stuff 6.7 miles, nothing should break. The damage was unbelievable! Truthfully, it wasn’t even about the money, it was about the attitude we received when they realized they had chipped, scuffed and broke all of out furniture. Let me repeat, ALL OF OUR FURNITURE !! In addition, these guys tell us they will only pay .60 cents per pound of damage. What kind of Mickey mouse insurance is that??? So for damage totaling over $ 1,500 they would give us less then half. Again, money not being the only issue, it was the effort and time spent looking for the items that were damaged. If any of you know the time it takes to find that perfect piece for your living room or bedroom out whatever room, you know what I am talking about.
I AM STRONGLY URGING ALL WHO COME ACROSS THIS COMPANY TO RUN AWAY!!! YOU WILL THANK GOD YOU DID!

Our family used Storage and Moving Center to move and store our daughter’s belongings after her first year of college at SFSU. This service was a life saver! We live in San Diego and our daughter goes to school in SF so to have a service that comes to the dorm, picks up the belongings and then stores them for the Summer is fabulous! THEN, to have that same service deliver the belongings to the new place the following school year… we couldn’t ask for more! When our daughter was moving back to SF from SD after the Summer was over, Charles bent over backwards for us when we were scrambling last minute to find an apartment in SF. Even though we were VERY last minute in providing an address he was willing to work with us on a date and time-​frame for delivery. It was one less stress we had to worry about. The guys that work for Charles are very friendly, work hard and are extremely helpful. As a parent of a college student, it is nice to know that moving, storing and moving again, are all taken care of in a professional and very handy manner! Thank you Charles and staff!

After reading others reviews on this company I decided to put my experience down.
This company is by far the best bang for your buck!
If you are well prepared and have everything packed before the movers get there you will absolutely be pleased! If you have an accurate list of items that need to be moved it can greatly affect time and expectations.
With most moving companies if the item is not on the list they wont touch it, this company storage and moving center will help with etc stuff that most companies would not. This company goes above and beyond what is expected.
The people that have problems with a moving company are generally lazy people who didn’t pack and wrap their shit them self and complain when it takes time to be done.
The movers have their own directions so having them follow you will only cause problems.

This wouldn’t be a problem if they were prepared and packed before hand, packing takes time. duh!
If you have a problem with their move/​performance do it your self.

My experience with Charles and his movers was not a positive one. I was moving from a 2 bedroom apartment to a new apartment 10 miles away. On the morning of the move, 3 movers showed up at around 8am.
Initially things started out very well. The movers quickly moved all of our boxes from the 2 bedroom apartment to the ground floor. Once finished with the boxes, one of the movers continued to help me move non-​boxed items (shelves, chairs, etc.) out of the apartment while the other two were out by the truck (parked roughly 100 feet away). After a while I went to see what the other two were up to, and one mover was inside the truck stacking boxes, while the other stood there and told him how to arrange/​stack the boxes — incredibly inefficient way of doing things.
Later on, one of the movers spent ~20 minutes going back and forth between the apartment and truck trying to find the right tools to take apart a bed frame. I then realized what was going on and told him it did not need tools to disassemble, and the bed frame can simply be pulled apart.
The movers did not have any wardrobe boxes, so I had to come back to the old apartment later to load all of the clothes that remained on hangars into my car.
Driving counts as double-​time. I told the movers to follow me (I’d go slow), because the roads can be confusing where we are going, and I know the best route to the new apartment. As we are about to arrive, they deliberately change lanes out of the lane I am in, and take a turn in the opposite direction of the apartment. I arrived to the new apartment in 20 minutes, they arrived there in 40, so we were charged for 80 minutes worth for their commute. I asked what happened with driving, considering I was right in front of them, and I received an answer that didn’t make any sense — they were simply wasting time.
After the move was completed and the movers left, I finally got the chance to take a look at the damage:
Rolling shelf dropped and 2 wheels broken off (this was the only thing damaged that was brought to my attention by the movers)
Scratched dresser
Ripped mattress
Broken bookshelf
2 dents in walls of new apartment from move in
Cost: over $ 600 to move our 2 bedroom apartment. Everything was already in boxes prior to the move.

May I note that I wrote a review earlier but because of my ‘bad’ review, I was called and was told to take it down.
These people advertise at my university and with them; I was told nothing but great things with them. They could work within my budget and everything. I called and right away they asked, how much could I spend. I told them my limit and they had the price right at my limit. They also charged my roommate the same amount where she got 2 less boxes than me.
She called back and the man was rude to her; telling her she was getting a deal. But if I can get 5 boxes for the same price for 3, I am getting he better deal: not her.
I don’t like the whole open 6 hours time for pick up and drop off. In the beginning it was great, they came very early. But when it was drop off, I couldn’t do anything in my day because I had a six hour window of when they came. They came 5 minutes before that window closed. When I called to get an idea where they were, they never check in with the guy; so he never know where they were. So I couldn’t plan anything.
I contacted them 2 weeks in advance and contacting them was impossible. It’s a 2 week notice or you get charged 100 $. I didn’t want that, so I was on time with my email. But I had to contact them with two emails and a phone call before I got a hold of anyone. Plus, he didn’t get my information right; was going to deliver a day before I got onto campus and wonder why I asked for that.
Plus, I wrote a review here and they personally called me and told me that I should take down my bad review on them; that it could hurt their business. I am sorry, but that is what criticism is. You take it and make your company better but instead I got my stuff delivered last; where you should have tried and made a better impression and delivered it first or I wouldn’t have written this back.
I would advise not to use this company.

I had horrible experience with the owner Charles and his movers. I hesitated to write this review because we thought maybe all moving companies were like that… until we recently hired Two Men and A Truck whose service was truly satisfactory.
To name a few issues: 1) one of the movers performed slow motions in wrapping; at least two hours of extra charge as a result; 2) they disappeared for lunch break for over an hour but insisted to subtract only 20 mins from billing; 3) one mover constantly complained about the quality of our furniture while he was causing scratches and breaking things apart left and right; 4) the owner Charles deliberately took customers credit card info upfront, so in case you challenge their billing errors, he could charge you regardless. Two Men and a Truck on the contrary said they won’t take our credit card number nor charging us a dime until we confirmed their service was well done.

+/​-​You can purchase some items (ex: packaging tape), but they’re a bit pricey (some of our things had to be secured better, and I’m glad that we weren’t charged for the tape– some of ours may have been used, but I’m not sure).
If you’re moving, save yourself some time and money by being at least somewhat prepared before movers come (the more time movers spend securing things or waiting around for you, the more you’re going to pay).
+/​-​The trip to the house was slightly dramatic. After 10 minutes, the truck fell way behind (it was loaded down, but the lead guy was also driving slowly– I can’t complain, though, if he was just being careful). We drove as slowly as we could (we even pulled over twice) in order to keep it in sight (we didn’t want the movers to get lost– I was also wondering, at least for a moment, if the truck was suddenly going to turn down a street and disappear), but it didn’t catch up to us until we reached the cross street (it was good when we had to stop at 2 red lights). Anyway, the guys had drinks in the truck (I think just energy drinks), and I’m glad that they had some time to catch their breath (they really only took bathroom breaks).
–The day and time we were given were basically assigned to us. Speak up if you can’t be flexible (no, I need you guys to come on this day).
–The movers weren’t fully prepared. I agreed to rent a queen size sheet (at one point, it was starting to sprinkle, and our mattress wasn’t protected). After checking, however, the lead guy came back and told me that they didn’t have any (they only had a full size sheet– I think renting the queen size sheet, by the way, would have only cost $ 4). I don’t believe the movers had any scissors either (the 2 small guys briefly borrowed a pair of ours to cut some tape).
This is written on the freight bill: «PLEASE INSPECT YOUR GOODS PROMPTLY.»
As far as I know (we didn’t really move into the house until 11/​1, and we haven’t unpacked everything yet), only 1 thing is missing, some K-​Y Jelly for Her (a dresser and 2 nightstands were taken). I told my wife that she’s shit out of luck (no, we have a few dozen boxes full of lubricants and lotions). Anyway, maybe one of the guys really wanted to please his girlfriend (it was full, and I didn’t secure the drawers well, and so some things fell out of my nightstand– I didn’t see it there when I looked, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Jelly was placed in my wife’s dresser). If the K-​Y was taken (I’ll provide an update if it suddenly turns up– I’m still looking, baby), I’m not too bugged about it (I still have my Snoopy slippers, and that’s what counts).
Update (¹¹⁄₂₅): The Jelly finally turned up yesterday. Some work is being done on the house now, and one of the workers found it and placed it near the dresser. The bottle was dusty, and maybe it had fallen out of a drawer and onto the floor (the workers were gone when I saw it, and I don’t feel like asking anyone about it anyway).
I wasn’t blown away by the lead guy (it’s okay if you’re a smoker, but smoke after a job, not before– I also think that the guy could have done a bit more), but the movers impressed me overall (they were quick, and there really was no wasted time– they even made a real effort to be done in 3 hours so that we would only be charged the minimum).
The total came out to $ 407. Even if everything was taken and another trip was made, we wouldn’t have been charged more than $ 700. That’s pretty awesome.
Again, I highly recommend Storage and Moving Center. My wife and I are very pleased by the job our movers did.
