Bob and his staff is terrific. Bob made a suggestion for my 1991 GMC truck and at first I was a bit hesitant, but following his instructions, I was impressed with the results. Been getting my oil change here and had my smog check here too. Good and fast service and prices are great too. They’re in a convenient location with plenty of other shops around you can walk to while you wait. Oh and don’t forget to check their website for coupons.

How often do you find yourself inspired to bake cookies for your mechanic? I did when Bob and his guys helped me hang on to my minivan for a tad bit longer. Thanks to the guys at Quality Tune Up, I was able to milk every last bit of life out of that vehicle!
Now that the van has been sent out to pasture, I have gone back with my new car and even taken both of my parents cars in for smog checks. My husband is a fan too. They are always prompt, courteous and fair.
It’s nice to see an small business succeed because of quality work, fair prices and honest service.

I really want to like this place. My daughter has taken her car there a few times and it’s been fine. I took mine in this morning at 8:30 for a tune up and oil change. He said there were cars ahead of me so it would be between 3 and 4. Fine. At 3:30 I called to see if I should start walking over. They hadn’t even started it yet! He wanted me to leave it over night but I was unable to do that. No call to let me know it would be delayed. The two stars are for his politeness and previous visits. Never again. My time is more valuable than that.

This has always been my go-​to place for routine vehicle maintenance. I’ve never had any problems here, the people are always honest and do great work every time. Oil changes are priced very reasonably and the service is always great!

Talk about a cool cat! Bob knows his stuff. He worked on my dune bug and a few weeks had passed I had some other probe, He took a look and told be what was up in seconds. Good, Honest, mom and pop shop.

I had my car oil change today. They check my tire pressure without me telling them. Very great service. This is my go to place. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Its Hard to find an Honest Smog Shop and this is one of them .
I got the Dreaded Smog Check required on my Work Whip White Rabbit .
So I designated a day to go get it .
Then I saw a Coupon for a Competitor for a Smog Check for $ 29,95 plus the Certificate .
So I rolled there where they said that price wasn’t for my Vehicle and they wanted $ 48 more to Smog my Vehicle. I looked at the Guy and Laughed in his face and told him nice try. See Ya wouldn’t want to be you and left that crook in a cloud of Dust and rolled out .
I went to my old stand by Smog Shop and talked to Bob .
Bob was straight forward a quoted me a price of $ 58.20 this was the out the door price for the Smog Check, Evap –Check and Smog Certificate
Bob explained the Smog Certification Procedure required for my Year Vehicle .
I told Bob what happened at the other Smog shop and he actually knew about the other shop having integrity issues.

Never come here, if you are in a hurry. I brought my car in for a simple oil change. I asked if they could have my car ready in 30 minutes. The guy said, «Sure, no problem.» It has been 45 minutes already and they told me if would be another 10 — 15 minutes. They also took another customer that came in after me and have already returned her car to her.

I come her for the last year or two, bob is very honest guy, and it’s important in this business.
The prices are good and the job get done fast and like the name quality.

What a great place! I checked Unilocal for an oil change, found these guys, and called to see if they could get me taken care of. I needed an oil change for my Toyota Camry Hybrid (some shops don’t like to work on hybrids, but that wasn’t a problem for them). I had only an hour free, and they said they could do it. I dropped it off at 8:10 with a stipulation that I had to leave at 9, went to grab a breakfast burrito, and returned at 8:30 to my car, ready to go! The mechanics were all very friendly, topped up my fluids and checked my tire pressure. They informed me that I should have some preventive maintenance done due to the mileage on my car, but were not pushy at all (ahem, jiffy lube). It cost me $ 26, and I am very happy with them and can’t wait to drive 3,000 more miles so I can come back!

How many shops do you know where, if you go for an oil change, they’ll tell you specifically that you do NOT need an air filter? No con, no bs.
I ‘ve been going to Quality on-​and-​off (depending on if i was nearby) since they were located on East 14^th and Hesperian. This «new» (a few yrs old) place is larger. Don’t assume you’ll wait long for an oil change – there is an additional automotive repair area in the back, not visible from the street.
How nice to go to a place you can trust!!!

Always fast service. We come in for an oil change when its due. I am usually given the coupon price even if i don’t have a coupon. Just saves a couple bucks. The reset my oil percentage on my Honda without me asking which i like.

Came in 8 months ago for a smog check on the recommendation of Precision Auto Repair. Passed smog & had a fine experience.
Came in yesterday to schedule both an oil change & another smog for today. It was very dead & spoke to Bob about needing to schedule a smog appointment in the afternoon for today (time was of the essence to make it to the DMV so I could drive my car to SoCal on Sunday). He seemed very blasé & said it wouldn’t be a problem & to just come in, even after I tried to insist on scheduling an appointment.
This morning I got the oil change somewhere else because I was given a free oil change coupon (can’t beat FREE!!). Then I needed to drive my car all day to help clean the fuel system because it had sat 8 months since the last smog, due to an insurance & DMV error. Finally came in today around 3:30−40 to get the 20 minute smog test done. I sat around for an hour before asking Bob for the keys back because it was now too late for the test & making it to the DMV. He gave me the keys back without uddering 1 word of apology. or ANYTHING!
I will never be back. PERIOD!

I been going here for a number of years. No high pressure up sell here like at a dealership. I usually head here for oil changes, smogs, and today a major tune up for an old car.

I came here for a smog check only. This is the lowest priced place I found. Most places quoted me between 70– 75 for a standard smog check. I paid 48.20 which included tax.
Things to do before heading over:
1. Print coupon off their website (They prefer an actual coupon instead of the smartphone thing)
2. Call and make sure they are not TOO busy
3. Bring DMV letter.
3. Go to the spot.
Simple, easy, fast, and efficient.

There’s almost always a coupon available for your standard oil change for $ 24.88, so make sure to check online before walking in. As long as you show them the coupon on your phone, they’ll give you the discount! The turnaround has always been within an hour or so (hour and a half, tops). Café Sorriso is down the street as well as TapEx, so at least you have places to chill while you wait!
They’re always unfailingly polite to me when I’ve dropped off my car. I used to take my car to a place in Oakland Chinatown for a $ 30 oil change that my dad recommended. However, now that I know of Quality, I’m going to start coming here instead. The oil change averages about $ 32, but the money I save in gas, the convenience in location, and the fast turnaround (the place in Oakland keeps me waiting for AT LEAST 2 hours every time) more than makes up for it.
Now if only I remember to always bring the car in when the oil change is due (as opposed to months OVERdue), then everyone would be happy.

Maintaining my car has always been a frustrating experience for me. I normally go to One Toyota in Oakland to have my car serviced and each service experience has been awful. I’ve waited up to four hours for an oil change and tire rotation. The complimentary car wash is a joke, the customer service is poop, and don’t even get me started about the recall issue I’m currently dealing with *face palm*
I decided to try out another car shop and found this gem. Dropped by to have my oil changed and it was quick and painless. The guy at the front desk (forgot to get his name) was nice and he got everything started quickly. I was told it would take about 30 minutes so I went to grab a bite to eat. Came back a little after the 30 minute wait period and my car was ready to go. Everything on my car checked out a-​o-​k and other concerns I had about minor engine issues were explained to me in a way that was easy to understand. Thank you Quality Tune-​Up for restoring my faith in the automotive service industry.

Quick, cheap shop, make sure to check their site they always have legit coupons. Like coupons for oil changes cheaper than walmart legit. I went in for their «mini combo» which consisted of an oil change, tire rotation and break check for $ 39.95
My break «results» came in and apparently I was riding on 1 millimeter of padding left. Woops. I asked how much time approximately could I wait, a month? He says no. much sooner than that. I ask, next week? He’s like no… like tomorrow the latest. WTH. What if I never came in that today. Would’ve been a total asian wreck on the freeway.
I tell him I’ve got somewhere to go that’s urgent (it wasn’t urgent at all, I just didnt want to miss my nail appt, ha). So he kindly tells me they can take it in again and have the car ready for me when I return. Total for the oil change, tire rotation and new break pads was about $ 225 which didn’t seem bad. I don’t know, I could be wrong since I apparently know nothing about my vehicle and when the breaks are completely worn out.
The only one thing that wasn’t so awesome was when we were talking, somehow I mentioned living in the hills and instead of the typical 1 year warranty he writes 6 months. COME ON. I thought we could’ve been good friends. whatever though, considering the distance I commute everyday I think I’ll need new pads within 6 months, so I’ll be back!

My SUV was in need of an oil change. I called the same day to make an appt. I was told by the gentleman on the phone to come in between a certain time and he would have my service on the board.
I showed up with a coupon in hand from their website. I was told there was a car being worked on and mine would be next. The wait was 45 mins. before my car was driven into the bay. My service took 30 mins. They also top off fluids and check the air filter.
They accept debit & credit cards.
I saved $ 5.00 with the coupon total was $ 26.
Staff was friendly but MIA at times when patrons walked into the office.
There is free Wi-​FI which can help with the wait.
The place is accessible to the San Leandro Bart station just a few blocks away, about a 10 min. walk.
