DNA’s Chimney service professional’s aid in the prevention of fires related to fireplaces, woodstoves, gas heating systems and the chimneys that serve them. Wood burning heating systems, requires careful monitoring and skillful operation. DNA’s inspects, installs, sweeps and maintains these systems, diagnose performance issues, prescribe changes for performance improvement and educate the consumer about safe and efficient operation of venting systems. DNA’s fundamental duty is sweeping chimneys to remove the hazard of accumulated and highly combustible creosote produced by burning wood and wood products. It means getting rid of bird and animal nests, leaves and other debris that may create a hazard by blocking the flow of emissions from the fireplace & chimney unit. In doing our primary job, DNA’s also function as on-​the-​job fire prevention specialists & looking out for dangerous or unhealthy indoor air quality. DNA’s also rebuilds & repairs brick masonry fireplace & chimney units. ;)

Established in 1999.

After working for another Chimney Company, I realized that people needed something different. So I started DNA’s Chimney Service an on time reliable trust worthy company that will take customer service to the next level by taking the time to pay attention to detail & what the customer really wants. Hello My Name is Adam Rodrigues, owner of DNA’s Chimney Service. After 10 years of being in Business, I’m proud to say we are one of the Best Chimney Services in the Bay Area if not The Best! We pride ourselves on our knowledge of how your chimney system works, costumer services and being straight forward, honest and candid with our communication with our clients. I have a loving and supporting family that consist of my Wife Janice, 3 boys and a girl (Devin, Adam, Johnathon, and Isabella) I also have a passion in life for Helping those in need. So for this reason I have created a website for youth to adult athletes to be seen, get recruited, or earn a sponsor. I also cycle for my health as well as for Charity.

I just had my chimney inspected by Adam and Jason. These guys were great. They were very prompt in returning my phone call and setting up an inspection appointment. They arrived on time and clearly explained everything they were planning to do. I didn’t really know much about my chimney, and they explained all of the various parts that make it safe for me to keep a fire burning in my house. I ended up having a fairly minor issue with my chimney, and they explained the steps that needed to be done in a very straightforward, no-​pressure way. I highly recommend these guys. They were great!

After trying unsuccessfully to install a fireplace pillow to block air from escaping up my chimney, I called DNA. Adam and another guy came out for free to take a look at the chimney. Once Adam realized that I really didn’t want to use the chimney and didn’t want an expensive solution, he clambered up in the roof in a jiffy and put some metal taping on the top of the chimney to seal it. He didn’t try to hard sell me on anything, and he did the tape as a courtesy and didn’t charge me anything for the call. He said if it didn’t solve the problem, he’d come back and put metal sheeting on it instead. Adam is a great guy, very professional, and he really gets customer service. That’s rare these days. I recommend that you call them now for your chimney needs!

A great measure of professionalism and integrity is the reaction when things don’t go as expected. We had an appointment scheduled for early Thanksgiving week. My husband stayed home from work, but Clean Sweep ended up not being able to keep the appointment at the last minute as an employee had called in sick. We were desperate for heat, so Adam and Janice found a way to squeeze us in later that week and performed the service free of charge. This was certainly not my expectation, but they both insisted.
The work was high quality, fast, and they had us up and running just before the cold snap hit. I will definitely use them — and recommend them — go forward! l

Let me just start by saying that I HIGHLY recommend Adam and his crew. Not only were they the epitome of professionalism, they were both a pleasure to work with. My partner and I recently bought our house in Oakland. Unfortunately, our chimney didn’t meet safety standards. We reached out to a few other chimney service organizations and were quoted amounts that we felt were unreasonable. Not only that, the service we got while getting the other estimates paled in comparison to the service we received at DNA.
Adam’s work on our chimney was extensive and he made sure we were involved and aware of exactly what had to be done in order for us to have a safe fireplace. We’re so confident in DNA’s work, that we actually are going to use them to install our new gas log set in a couple of weeks.

When it rains, my mother Lena K 2015 in Union City, CA, has been hearing a constant drip in our home near the fireplace. After having two (2) roofers come to our home and inspect the problem, it was suggested that we have our chimney inspected. Because of the lack of diagnosis, my mother was feeling very stressed and nervous.
As a result, my mother took a chance and contacted DNA’s Clean Sweep Chimney Service via telephone after business hours on a recent Monday evening. Janice answered the telephone. My mother informed Janice about the constant drip in our home near the fireplace. Janice was very kind, empathetic, and understanding. Although DNA’s Clean Sweep Chimney Service did not have any availability until mid-​January 2016, Janice said that she would contact Adam (the owner of DNA’s Clean Sweep Chimney Service), and call me back in 30 minutes. Minutes later, my mother received a telephone call from Adam. Adam asked my mother if she was available the following day. Adam said that although he had appointments the following day, he assured my mother that he will come to our home in order to inspect our chimney.
The following morning, Adam arrived at our home with Jason. Adam and Jason were both very polite. My mother informed Adam about the constant drip that she was hearing around the chimney. Adam and Jason began to inspect for the problem, and possibly repair the problem. Adam and Jason were both very thorough, patient, professional, and diligent in contemplating each and every option that they believed would resolve our issue.
From the moment that I contacted DNA’s Clean Sweep Chimney Service until the conclusion of Adam’s and Jason’s inspection the following morning, my mother had an absolutely fantastic experience with DNA’s Clean Sweep Chimney Service. I got to deal with Adam the owner directly. His assistant and him did a great job for a reasonable price and were able to fit me in quickly. He was also honest and told me i didn’t need one of the services I requested even though it took money out of his pocket. Very personable and honest. I really appreciate and respect that. These guys are a class act. It might take a call or two to get through to them but it is totally worth it.
Adam came out to inspect and clean the chimney in my back cottage. He is the nicest guy in the world and a pro at his job. He is unbelievably well informed. He told the the unvarnished truth about my chimney liner and gave me solid advice.
While I can’t use the fireplace till I get it relined, I am having him back to do the work. You can’t go wrong with these guys. They are honest to a fault and they know their business inside and out.

Wonderful family business!
Excellent customer service started with initial contact. Janice was super accommodating and kind. Although they were booked through mid December, she arranged for Adam, the owner to come out within a few days.
Not only is Adam an absolute professional, he is a *really* nice person. Took the time to explain how to safely operate my fireplace (I have never lived in a home with a fireplace) I appreciated that. He did the job quickly and efficiently. Overall I’m pleased and I will certainly have them out again next year.

Left them message I needed chimney inspection and maintenance in Sausalito. Adam the owner called me back promptly and seemed very nice. I was a little concerned when he said he wanted my credit card number then before they come out to do the work and that they would charge me the day they come out, but I gave it to him. Things went downhill from there. Although they did have their inspector Kyle come out to my triplex and inspect 2 chimneys and 2 wood burning stoves and another chimney up the street at my other place, and although Kyle called me that day to tell me he was there, I never received a report or any other communication from DNA. I was told I would get a report on the findings. I called DNA in mid November and left VM. No call back. I called again today 11÷24÷15 and left VM. I called Kyle the inspector on his cell today and he said he no longer works for DNA because he doesn’t like the way they do business. He also said that DNA has a reputation for not calling customers back. When I told him I had been charged $ 900 on 10÷30÷15 and still almost a month later have not received any report or anything regarding the work done, he said he is not surprised and that it is a common practice of DNA not to respond to customers and to charge them. He gave me the cell phone for the owner Adam and I called it and left VM expressing my concern and asking him to return my call asap or I would be forced to escalate matters.
If Adam does not call me back within 4 days, I will report them to the licensing authorities and esclate the matter further. If he does not call me back, I will be forced to conclude that DNA is running a fraudulent chimney sweep service and will take all appropriate legal action against them (I am an attorney).
Unless they seriously change their practices, avoid DNA at all costs.

Made an appointment to have our chimney looked at. We’re renting a house and had no idea what the condition of the chimney was, and we wanted it looked at before using it.
They called and let me know they’re running ahead of schedule and asked if it was ok if they came early. Even better!
Thee owner shows up, takes a look at our old chimney and let’s me know that it’s so old it doesn’t have tiles, and it’s really just not worth putting $ 5000 into if we’re only renting and we have another source of heat. I loved how up front and honest he was with me. It was very refreshing. I would definitely recommend these guys.

Kyle just came by and had a look and did a great job. I couldn’t recommend him/​them more highly. The company even called prior to arrival to let me know they’d be here within 30 minutes. So many contractors/​workers don’t even show up nowadays. So that was a big plus and very professional.
I also had many questions regarding fireplaces which I didn’t even know I had until we got on the subject. Kyle was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and then some.
All in all an A+ experience.

Every get bad news and are sort of happy you got it?
Well in this case yes. DNA came out and inspected all four fire places… they had not been used, cleaned or inspected in years. Kyle is really thorough… he looked like Dick Van dyke in Mary Poppins
Me: So can the fireplaces be used?
Kyle: Well yes but if you use these two you’ll probably burn the house down.
Me: Oh… good to know
Needless to say Kyle saved the day and the house. He also gave an amazing breakdown of type of fireplaces, what exactly was wrong, where, and various remedial solutions.
I mean this guy was thorough and I would not hesitate to recommend DNA clean sweep Chimney service.

We found a rat under our mantel, aigh! We called a professional.
Kyle showed up that very morning. He did EVERYTHING. He’s thorough, kind, chill, and QUICK! He was totally good with checking every part of our fireplace to find where the vermin got in.
He did a head-​in-​the-​ashes inspection, then went down in the spider-​infested crawlspace to check the foundations (clean, solid, good to go), and he even went up in the attic. Then he took the time to block the holes between the fireplace and the surrounding house materials… and even asked to use our old collection of used nails instead of the brand-​new box. Problem fixed!
Kyle then took the time to talk about the condition and aesthetics of the visible part of our fireplace, and explained a bunch of the nuances about fire starting and maintenance that I never learned in Girl Scouts. EXCELLENT customer service.

Got out the ol’ Unilocal app to find a Chimney Sweep. DNA had good reviews so we gave them a call. The woman that made the appointment was courteous and friendly. We were a bit apprehensive; didn’t know what kind of news we would receive since we haven’t had it cleaned in the decade that we have lived here. We were relieved to find our chimney is in good shape.
We were quite pleased with our chimney inspection and cleaning by DNA. Kyle was professional, informative and best of all — tidy. He made no mess as he got down to business and did the deed.
This is the time of year you should think about having your chimney cleaned. DNA will take care of all your needs.
