Amazing Stone

We were so pleased with the work we had done by Amazing Stone. I worked primarily with Jack, who couldn’t have been nicer, or more patient. His calm demeanor is wonderful. Our kitchen granite was done so well. Mario and his crew were professional and proficient. Everything was completed in one day. The prices were very fair. I highly recommend Amazing Stone!

I was behind schedule on my kitchen remodel and went in desperation to Daltile to get a list of marble fabricators to make and install my countertops. I interviewed 5 in total, but was impressed with Jany’s calm demeanor and thorough review of my kitchen plans to come up with an estimate. Since Daltile was initially out of honed she checked with other slab vendors and ensured I had the knowledge needed to pick the right stone.
The end product turned out beautifully and was installed in less than one week! Luis is a skilled stone worker and is exceptionally detailed. He’s also very neat and leaves your job site very clean. His partner, Mario, turned on the shop vac every time they cut or drilled to minimize the dust generated.
I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a professional product at a reasonable price.

We bought our granite for our kitchen from them. I am very picky and had gone all over trying to find what I had in my head. I actually loved some of theirs so much that I was able to pick it from a pic of the actual slab they emailed my contractor. Now that it’s installed it’s absolutely gorgeous and the prices didn’t break the bank. Oh, and when one of our pieces unexpectedly got broke, they were fast to get us more! Couldn’t ask for better treatment!

I was in need of a counter top for my bathroom vanity and originally went to one of the big box stores. I told them that it was going to have to be a custom job because size was not typical. They told me that it wouldn’t be a problem and that their installer would come and take the needed measurement. I explained to them that we were under a time crunch because we had family coming in a few weeks. Again they said it wouldn’t be a problem. When the installer came, I knew that he wasn’t interested in doing the job. He himmed and hawed but said that they should be able to do it. After calling the store several times, I was finally told that they couldn’t do it. After wasting 2 weeks, I found Amazing Stone online and found out that it was about a mile from my house. We went in and the staff was very helpful. We told them what we needed and told them that it had to be custom. They told us that it wouldn’t be a problem. They then showed us the different slab and then told us that they had remnants that might work for us. We found a perfect piece and she told us that they could have it installed in a week. The price installed was $ 900.00 less than what I was quoted than the big box store. The day before it was to be installed, we got a call saying that one of their guys wanted to come by and take measurement and get the template for the sink. The guy came and was very nice and answered our questions. He left and about 3 hours later we got a call saying that they could come in 15 minutes. The guy came and did the install. He was very nice and quick. He also did a great job of cleaning up after himself. I don’t think that I’ve ever had a company call and ask to do a job a day early. I was highly impressed from start to finish with Amazing Stone and would highly recommend them.

Amazing stone made my project to get new granite in my kitchen easy! I was surprised that I was able to choose my slabs and schedule my installation all in under 2 hours. They were very helpful in helping me decide what slabs matched. Two weeks later I had a new beautiful counter top I my kitchen. Also the installers were ON TIME and did a super job and finished in one day. This by far is the easiest home improvement project I’ve dealt with so far. Oh ya and it was a good 700 less than home Depot.

The project consisted of a complete tear down of cabinets, sink, relocation of gas and water lines. The project also required installing new countertops, cabinets and sink.
Mark our primary installer worked efficiently and accurately. When the City inspector came to check his work, there was absolutely no problem with the quality,
Mark and his brother Sam arrived at our home on Sunday December 30^th to finish our kitchen because they wanted to make sure we had a working kitchen for New Year.
That is what I call excellent customer service.
The countertop installers cut the granite on our patio. After they completed the cuts and installed the countertop, they took the time to wash the patio and left it spotless.
Jack Chan our Project Manager made sure all aspects of the install went smoothly and handled any change requests quickly with the goal of customer satisfaction.
In summary Amazing Stone lives up to their name… they are AMAZING.

Based on the Unilocal reviews, I decided to go with Amazing Stone. I should have taken into account the fact that they haven’t had any recent reviews in the last 2 years. I wish I had known about Custom Stone — also in San Leandro.
Here are the details behind my experience with Amazing Stone. If you choose to work with them, I hope you have a better experience.
My kitchen was recently remodeled and I wanted to replace the wood countertops with granite.
I selected 3 slabs of Volga Blue for $ 1,400 and Amazing Stone was going to demo my existing kitchen and install new granite countertops for $ 1,300.
DAY 1 OF INSTALLATION — The installer arrived 1 hour late to make a template. He said he is paid $ 500 per job so he rushed when making the template
DAY 2 OF INSTALLATION — The installer arrived with used plywood and I had to buy a new sheet. The final piece of installation was the «L» shape which housed the sink. It became apparent he had cut it 1″ too short and it didn’t clear the base cabinets. I was surprised because my instructions to Jack were to install the sink more towards the wall (left). I quickly called Jack and he agreed to come to the condo. When he arrived with his boss, Winston, they assured me the base cabinet would not be cut and they would provide a new piece — cut correctly. The installer ignored their instructions and went ahead and cut the base cabinet. Incidentally, I also pointed out several large cracks in the granite which were patched and were not there when I selected the granite. We left things off that the company would provide a new sink cut-​out. They also left all of the rejected granite pieces in the common area which the HOA issued a warning to me that the common area was not my personal storage area. Another mistake that surfaced was the installer cut the range section ¼″ too short so the gas range didn’t fit.
On July 26, Jack said «As a gesture of good will, I would like to leave the desk area and the counter over the refrigerator in the house. I would hate to see such a beautiful granite go to waste. «He also said «On our end, the sink is still in re-​sell condition, and we can use the rest of the material as samples to our client.»
I contacted the company about buying the «L» shaped piece after he said it would be used as granite samples, the company changed its position. Jack decided to charge me for the pieces he originally gave me justifying it as: «That action also means that there is a demand on the piece which boosted up its value.»
He also said «The original invoice price was $ 3,133.25, and you spent $ 1,500 to fix your cabinet, so the difference is around $ 1,600. You ended up with the granite counter you like, a good sink, and a better cabinet than before.»
On September 7, he demanded «you cannot mention anything negative about our company to any media, which includes radio, TV stations, and over the Internet.»
Overall, counting lost time at work, new contractors, an extra month of rent, and an attorney, this experience has cost me 3x what I expected to pay.

In previous houses, I have had granite slabs fabricated for my kitchens, at great expense.
At first I was a little hesitant to go the «pre-​fab» route. Especially since I wanted a «curved semi-​circle» cut to one of the slabs for the bar stool overhang area. I chose Red Burgandy which has a huge amount of «flow and movement» in the granite. I also needed 5 slabs as the kitchen is large, and they needed to be properly laid out so that the design flowed properly.
But after meeting with the guys at Amazing Stone, seeing their huge warehouse selections, getting patient help in choosing the right slabs and seeing their «Diamond Rating», I was cautiously optimistic that I made the right decision.
The day of the installation, I could not have been more pleased.
The team was professional, neat and knew exactly what they were doing. They had to demolish the old granite counter tops, and did so without causing any problems to the cabinets. The new countertops are perfectly laid out and seams are beautifully done.

I checked out 3 places to get a bid for kitchen granite countertops in a rental home. One was from Home Depot. The best price with a granite I liked was from Amazing Stone. They are not setup for high end custom jobs. Their stone comes precut and with bullnosing from India or China. When they install at your home, the finalize the cutting needed for your kitchen.
They did an incredible fitting job. It is almost impossible to see or feel the 45 degree cuts where they joined pieces together. The did a much better job than the granite installation that I had done from a high end company in my home.
Their job was so nice, that I told my neighbor and he used them to do his kitchen also.
On time, super professional, helpful, and cheaper than formica tops!

We’d been to Amazing Stone several times to check out their wares before actually doing business with them. We were finally ready to redo the kitchen, and they had the best prices and the largest variety of granite, marble, stone, Corian, etc. available. We ended up choosing a fabulous black granite with flecks of silver and gray that went very nicely with our maple and glass cabinets.
Fast forward to the day of the install — a crew of 5 guys showed up to deliver, measure, cut and install the granite, as well as the cool sink we also purchased from them. It took them several hours to do the job and I swear one of the guys polished the granite for about two hours before he was satisfied with it’s appearance.
Highly recommended — and I’ve referred several others to them who are also really pleased with their work.

We chose this place because of the reviews here and the counters that they have on display was beautiful. Their price was higher than all the other pre-​fab granite places but the workmanship on the display were good so we went with them. BIG mistake, they hired someone professional to install the piece.
Our counter has long hairline cracks that they won’t fix.
This is a follow-​up to my above review. Jack called back and asked to examine and fix the problems. That was a nice surprise! They did come over and repair the cracks. Thanks!

Amazing Stone did an amazing job on our kitchen. We looked around at all (or most) of the pre-​fab slab sellers in the east bay, and found Amazing to have the best selection, good prices, and very professional installers.
Unlike everyone else we visited, most of their slabs came in wide widths for islands, with both 42″ wide, and 55″ wide versions to complement our countertops. We were also able to get an ogee edge on our counters as opposed to the bullnose that is found on most pre-​fabs.
The net cost was about half that of ordering the same thing through a custom granite shop. It was amazing to watch their crew (very professional and courteous) set up shop in our driveway, and complete the fabrication on-​site for a perfect fit. We had an out-​of plumb wall that I expected to be an issue, but they handled it perfectly.
They also treated our counters with Dry-​Treat sealant at no additional charge.
It’s amazing to be able to go from picking granite out individual slabs, to a finished kitchen in a week. I highly recommend Amazing Stone. some of the Chinese pre-​fab suppliers in the east bay may be a bit cheaper, but their material is thinner, and they they don’t have the selection of wide slabs for islands that Amazing does.

people are very helpful. They give me a lot of ideas about my kitchen
design. They also took their time to show me which color should be
matching my floor, and my cabinets. They really know what they are

Mark and I have done a lot of remodel on our home. This was one that was made relatively painless thanks to our experience with Amazing Stone. After looking at slabs at a number of places, we stopped in at Amazing Stone. Jose began helping us and immediately he made our remodel less painful. We liked Golden River and he reviewed our kitchen drawing and explained exactly what pieces we needed and showed us how we needed to look for pieces that went well together. After he helped get everything organized, he gave us a price and we were both surprised at how low it was.
Questions came up as we went along, and Jose was always there to send pictures, answer questions, and hold my hand. He is truly a very special man. I might also add that he had his second child during our purchase and yet, he was always there with the answer. While he was out for a week, both Jack and Hadley helped me. What a team.
The installation was the most amazing part of this. Alex led a team of 4 guys who all knew exactly what they were doing. We’ve had many contractors in our home and these guys were truly amazing. They worked quickly, efficiently and quietly and matched the granite perfectly. Then they cleaned up after themselves! I might also say they extremely polite and non intrusive. The bottom line is I would refer this company to anyone and I know how they got the «amazing» in their name.

Amazing Stone just installed my beautiful granite countertops today and I am very, very impressed with them. The granite countertops are gorgeous. The installation was done carefully and expertly. They went out of their way to be careful with my new cabinets and new floor (I was really worried about both). They were courteous and professional. They were here when they said they would be (that’s a big deal with me). On top of everything else, they completely cleaned up after themselves before they left (even though they must have been tired), to the point of leaving our driveway cleaner than it was before they got here.

Granite is not cheap but their prices were better than quite a few other places (not the cheapest but I wasn’t looking for Wal-​Mart quality, either) and the quality of the granite is superb. Their selection is huge. These are what’s called «pre-​fabricated» slabs, meaning it’s not a giant piece of raw granite. It’s already polished and you can see what it will really look like in your kitchen. It’s much better value for the money (probably half the cost of starting with a big hunk of granite).
Their selection is huge and I never realized how beautiful stone can be. Once you’ve decided on the particular type of stone, you select each specific piece you want and mark it as yours. They’re amazingly patient with helping you while you make your selection; we went through every piece of the type we selected.
I can happily say that Amazing Stone lives up to their name. Highly recommended!

Amazing Stone is A-​M-​A-​Z-​I-​N-​G! My mom had counter tops installed in her kitchen and decided to use Amazing Stone after careful research of granite companies. Her salesperson, Sharon, was friendly and precise. The workers arrived promptly and were skilled craftsmen. The end result is BEAUTIFUL and she is extremely happy! If you want the best priced granite & excellent service, this is the place to go!

Wow, first review! My husband and I decided that we needed new countertops in our small condo kitchen. Dan did all the research and came up with the best price from Amazing Stone, including the granite color I wanted. Omar and Saul were prompt, courteous and did great work. They came on a Thursday morning to measure and do a template, took our new sink with them so they could cut accurately. The next morning they returned and had the granite and backsplashes installed in about an hour! We even have nearly the equivalent of a whole other counter leftover. We’ll save it for one of the bathrooms and have Amazing Stone come back to do that for us at some point. The price was very reasonable for what we wanted, especially with the higher end granite color, Venetian Gold. They also installed our sink for us.
