Willet’s Mini Creations

I ordered the craveez fory kids’ Easter baskets. I thought it would be cool to have them try something new, and I got to have a taste test myself. They were a hit. They were just the right amount of delicious! They keep you wanting more, without feeling like you’ll have to make it up with hours of gym time!

My husband and I both agreed that there was no way we wanted a standard wedding cake. We had considered cupcakes, but even those were becoming too trendy. So, you could only imagine our excitement the day we came across Willet’s Mini Creations. We were strolling through our local Farmers Market one weekend and decided to stop at Willet’s booth for a taste test. OMG. We’ll take a dozen, please! I can’t even begin to explain how incredible their cake pops are. And they’re so darn cute! We knew they’d be a huge hit if we had them at our wedding, which in fact, they were.
The display was adorable, and the assortment of flavors left each of our guests wanting to try them all. Thank goodness we had ordered plenty, in hopes that there would be leftovers for us to enjoy afterwards :)
The owner, Willet, is an absolute doll. We go visit her at the Market as often as possible, not just to get a dose of our all-​time favorite treat, but also to say hello to one of the sweetest ladies we’ve ever come across.
If you’re looking for a one-​of-​a-​kind dessert at your wedding (you could even use them as your favors– how cute is that?!) then I would definitely not hesitate to give Willet a call. And then afterwards, I’m sure you’ll be joining me as we drool over her cake pops at the Market!

Ran into WMC at one of Unilocal’s events and was so impressed with her Craveez that I ordered her for one of my wedding parties. I ordered the Guava and the Red Velvet. The Craveez I tried before are a bit smaller (the ones that come in the cute packaging), more like pop-​in-​your-​mouth size, but when my Craveez pops arrived, they could easily be a 3-​biter cake ball. The Guava was light, unique, and tasted so good. The Red Velvet was yummy and traditional and my friend at the party, who doesn’t even like cake, ate three of them. The Craveez pops were even decorated with my and my fiancé’s initials in edible pearls and covered them with colors of our wedding. (I didn’t even need to add a tag! YAY!) They were too pretty to bite into (but SOMEONE had to do it– and I choose me!) Make sure you order more than your guests so you can keep them in your fridge and have a reason to eat them (like we did). lol

I’ve heard of Bakerella — the original cake pops so I thought this would be similar. I like how they were decorated and they look really nice, but I didn’t like how they tasted. Either they had too much oil in their cake or they smooshed the cake too much into a ball that the lovely cake texture was gone. Bleh. It didn’t even taste like cake to me. Just a blob and overrated.

Had Willet’s at a Unilocal party… and I am writing a review because it was worth mentioning!
I am generally not a fan of cake pops, because I think there is a reason why cakes should be baked in larger batches (the cake is just more moist without having to use things like frosting). However, the pops here really were quite good.
The difference between American and European desserts is that my wife and I generally don’t like American desserts because they are all too sweet. I especially liked the Oreo and lemon pops, which surprised me by how well-​rounded the flavors were. I bit into them expecting them to overwhelm me with the sugar and sweetness, but they were pleasantly… well…balanced. Not too sweet, with just the right amount of rind and/​or Oreo bits. Quite tasty!

Thanks to a Unilocal event I’ve discovered these little pieces of awesomeness. Gotta say that Im not a big sweets person but little cakes on a stick are akin to crack. Damn addictive. It’s good for people like me who just want a taste of something and not a huge slice. Good for portion control possibly? Unless you sit and devour a dozen of them!

Craveez aka Cake Pops/​Cake Bites were the perfect addition to my graduation party this past weekend. I called in and customized them to match the color theme of my party and they turned our BEAUTIFUL!
I got Guava, Pineapple Upside Down, and Red Velvet. They were definitely one of the guests favorites parts. They are simple and easy to eat (no plate/​fork/​knife required) and were so freakin’ pretty!
Everyone was taking pictures of them and with them. I got some Craveez Pops and some Craveez bites with pearls and swirls to decorate them.
They are in my opinion better looking than tasting. but everyone really enjoyed them! I would definitely get these again. I want to try more flavors :)

Willet is so wonderful, and has always made me a happy customer. I recently ordered some for a bridal shower I was hosting. They turned out so beautifully, and way too cute to eat. The guests LOVED it, and they all asked where I got them from! **In Borat’s accent** Sweet success!
I must say, in the past all I ordered was the guava and red velvet, but now I have much more flavors I love. Their cookies and cream and chocolate are so good! I LOVE chocolate!
If you aren’t into sweets, DON’T be fooled. You will love them too. My boyfriend’s mother, who doesn’t like things too sweet, LOVED the chocolate flavored craveez! I was pleasantly surprised to hear that.
The craveez are great for any occasion!

I’ve worked with Willet twice now for two different parties & she’s been terrific both times! She did custom bee cravee pops for a baby shower I was throwing & they were so darn cute! Perfect favors!
When my son’s 3^rd birthday rolled around, I asked her to make some custom pops for his SF Giants party. I figured maybe some black or orange pops with an «SF» written on it would suffice. She wasn’t sure how they would turn out, but I told her to do what she thought would look best. I mean, she’s the expert right? So glad I just trusted her. What I ended up with was absolutely AMAZING! Totally blew me away. She did pops in orange, black, and white, some decorated as baseballs, others with sprinkles, and managed to get the SF logo on almost all of them perfectly! I was so impressed (as were my guests) and my son LOVED them!
Oh, and yes, they were tasty too.

Everyone LOVED the cravees — so much that people were stealing them from other people/​tables! My hubby and I never even got to indulge in ours because someone nabbed them before we got a chance… selfish snatches!
Working with Willet was great — she allowed us to sample a few flavors at the Santana Row Farmers Market so that we could decide what flavors to order for our guests. We loved them all — so it was a difficult decision but we ultimately went with the cookies and cream, red velvet, lemon and guava. Willet decorated them in our color scheme of pink, green, black and white and then had them wrapped in individual cellophane bags tied with pink or green ribbon. They looked perfect!
The only flaw (the reason for –1 star) is that we almost didn’t get our cravees in time for our wedding. Willet had a large number of weddings that weekend and mixed up our delivery/​wedding date. When an hour before the wedding the cravees hadn’t arrived I placed a phone call to the Willet. She was extremely apologetic and rushed to our venue to deliver and set up the cravees before the guests entered the dining room. She was able to get in there and get it done without anyone noticing.
After the wedding I received an apologetic email from Willet explaining that while they were very busy, there was no excuse and that she was refunding our delivery charge and that she would also provide my new hubby and I with a half dozen free cravees whenever we make our way to one of the farmers markets the sell at. I was stressed initially by the mistake, but the effort she made to remediate the issue was outstanding. That is good customer service, my friends. Shit happens sometimes, but Willet was able to smooth it out and in the end everything turned out rainbows and puppy dogs!
Thank you, Willet. Please know that I am still going to hold you to my free 6 cravees… I just need to get my arse to Santana Row or Los Gatos! ;)

I found Willet’s through Townhog.
I brought these out for a birthday party on a little silver tray. Everyone loved them. They are the perfect size to try out a couple of flavors. They were good and really cute.
Willet and team were great at the Farmer’s Market. They were really nice.
I would definitely order from them again. A little pricey for the size but these will be good for an «every once in a while» party purchase.

These tiny pastries are the cutest and most delicious balls of cake I’ve ever had.
They can be decorated to fit your event’s theme, placed in the form of a cake and shoved at the end of a stick to make cake pops.
Craveez are basically balls of cake mixed with icing and dipped in chocolate. The consistency is gooey in the middle but this is what makes the little desserts so unique. They come in many different flavors with my favorite being Oreo Cookie.. . Frozen Oreo Cookie.
I am located in a craveeless state but am excited to see that Willet’s Mini Creations ship outside of California.

Uh… what are these supposed to taste like?
After reading how popular the guava flavored cakes were, I decided to get a dozen of those. I just got mine in the mail ($ 12+ more for shipping through USPS) and was very impressed by the attractive packaging, but when I finally bit into the gorgeous little truffle, I was really baffled with the taste. Sure, the cakes themselves looked very attractive, but. it just tasted like basic dough rolled around in sugar syrup. I dunno. I was expecting this really fragrant guava flavor to burst in my mouth, but there was absolutely none.
I think i could make the same thing at home: flour, water, dunk them in sugar syrup, and cover in cheap white chocolate. I now have a Willet’s mini creation of my own!!! YAY!!!
Customer service was awesome, though, so five stars for that!

What creative and cute little pastries these mini creations are, I am so psyched I discovered them at the Unilocal event or else I probably would have never given them a chance.
To put it plainly, I am not a chocolate fan, I am not even close to a chocolate fan. Usually when there is something chocolate involved, I steer clear. I love coffee and would never even get a mocha if I can help it. So I don’t like chocolate. Of course seeing these chocolate covered little balls, I had absolutely no interest. Passing them a few times, finally the third person who came back for 2nds said there was red velvet and then it sparked my interest.
I picked up the red velvet and popped it in my mouth. What an amazing combination of flavors! The red velvet was tasty and moist while the chocolatey cover on the outside perfectly sweetened the little cake piece and acted almost as a frosting. Surprise! The bf also tried guava and said it was delicious as well. I think these are the perfect modern age desserts in replacement of the age old ‘cakes’ that everyone usually gets during birthdays and eats ¹⁄₁₀^th of one slice so half the cake is still left on the table.
I think I’ll be looking to Willet’s for future birthday celebrations!

Cupcakes are SO overrated. Wait… did I just say that out loud? Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for desserts — cakes, cupcakes, etc. Heck, I’m one to whip out a batch of Red Velvet Cupcakes myself, but nowadays everyone’s a baker and everyone and their uncles (or mamas) can whip out just about any good ol’ cupcake recipe out there!
Then there’s Willet’s Mini Creations. Little bite size cakes covered in chocolate goodness and decorated oh so cutesy. They come in a variety of flavors — you know, like cupcakes — Red Velvet, Banana, Cookies ‘n’ Cream and our personal favorite, Guava!
There are so many things to love about these cravees. My personal favorite is probably that they’re only a few calories each as I was told that they don’t use oil and eggs (or was it egg yolks?) They also are cleaner to eat — like eating chocolates out of a box! We really do love the concept (like petit fours) and can’t wait to try out Willet’s other flavors!

My Opinion/​Story:
It was really nice that they were there at the Unilocal Party presenting their creations. I would never have known Willet’s if not for this event. Their chocolate covered mini cakes were scrumptious. Each one was just the perfect combination of cake and chocolate. The designs are so cute and they’re bite size so for those who are on a diet (not I!) these are just the right size for you. I only wish I was able to get some of their craveez pops.
After tasting their mini creations, I’m craving for more. I only wish they have sample boxes that I can purchase and give to friends as a gift.

I don’t even like cake. I don’t even eat my own birthday cake…
Their Guava– oh so moist and filled with yummy goodness guava flavors, ugh, there’s a new birthday cake in town.

I tried the guava, red velvet, and chocolate at LB’s YEE. I really enjoyed the guava and red velvet. From afar, these little chocolate cake ball looked like truffles.
I had the opportunity to meet/​talk to Willet, who is super nice. Can’t wait to try more treats from her :)

Wow… someone beat me to it but i had to sober up after that Unilocal party. So i couldn’t leave.
The deserts were great and we are hoping to order some in the future.
We had the chance to try their desserts at the Left Bank Unilocal party. They had a couple of choices from chocolate, red velvet and guava. I think one of my favorites was the guava.

Their red Velvet crave pop is soo good and so pretty :) I almost can’t bare to eat !
The ideal of cake dip in chocolate & frosting is just great. Kind of like petit fours.
