Employees are super nice! I just don’t like how this location doesn’t carry every brand that the Saratoga location carries :/​4 stars for the talented brow specialists!

Light weight bummed about my purchase, I grabbed colors that I like, and was in a rush to purchase and get it the door, HOURS later when I got home to swatch what I’ve bought, two out of the 4 lipsticks I bought were already open and used. Gross. Now I’m stuck with them because I am not trying to drive all the way back to ultra to return them. And that’s even if they’d take the return because it’s been «opened»
I feel as the check out girl, she should check to see if they’ve been open or not. And as a customer I shouldn’t have to check if things have been open or not, I should be able to run in, pick up and product and run out the door to continue with my day.
Sucks. Double check your products to make sure they’re open.

Review is for the salon only! had an ashy blonde balyage done with TISA and it was nothing short of amazing. Tisa is incredibly talented and a lot of fun! She seriously knows her stuff.
I’ve seen her twice and was never happier both times! Highly recommend her if you are looking for ombré, highlights or balyage, she’s the best!

Called on the phone to make an appointment to go ash blonde. I know it is a process to get to this color but TRUST ME, my hair was light enough for it. I’ve been starting the process on my own and needed a professional stylist to finish off. On the phone, They said they could do it so I got booked with Lisa. When I came in, I told her what I wanted and she brushed through my hair and started criticizing about how dry it is and saying that my hair would break if I was to go lighter. I know the consequences, I did my research before I came in and I was willing to accept it because my hair had no more hope with its uneven brassy colors. I agreed to still do it and while brushing through my hair again… She went on to rambling about how dry my hair was and kept asking me if I was sure I wanted to do it. Um I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t. She continues to brush through my hair and decides to ask me ONE MORE TIME and this time I was fed up. If you’re not willing to do my hair the way I want it, that’s fine just tell me so I can go elsewhere. I then asked what she suggests because at this point I was irritated. I ended up with just getting my hair toned (adding a bunch of purple/​cool toned creams in my hair). When it finished, I was totally disappointed. My hair looked darker than before and MOST of my blondes have vanished. I paid $ 80 for toning which I didn’t want in the first place, and walked out with darker hair when I was intentionally trying to go lighter. On top of that, after washing the toner off, she blow-​dried then curled my hair, ADDING MORE DAMAGE, when she was the one complaining about how dry my hair was… She also wasn’t friendly at all and looked unhappy the whole time while doing my hair, maybe it was a natural resting b**ch face idk, but for sure next time I would love to book with Jessica. She assisted Lisa on doing my hair and she seemed so joyful and bubbly about it! Also, a lot of reviews on here say Jessica is amazing, now I see why

Wow. Scheduled a salon visit last minute for yesterday, Saturday December 19, 2015 at Ulta at the Plant on Curtner Ave. It was last minute, for the holidays, and Jessica was available. She over exceeded all of my expectations. The only thing I could ever hope for is to bring my ideas (and pictures I found on the internet of hair that I love) to an artist who can interpret them and make it work for my hair… Upon leaving the salon, and paying at the front counter, I was asked and told that I better be going out tonight, and I said yes, while thinking, whoever I was going out with, better be okay with me looking in the mirror all night! I am a very busy person and I don’t think about my hair, but I had an exciting and impulsive idea to make it lighter, but keep it looking natural, and Jessica made it happen, exceptionally well. I am excited, and grateful, and cannot wait for next time!

There was one particular staff member who was just outright rude and disruptive. I know sometimes customers seem demanding, but you should never talk badly about a customer while still on the sales floor.
I was waiting in line to purchase my stuff while the associate processed a return. The woman returning stuff seemed pretty friendly and after the woman offer to help put things back and walked away, she immediately turned to her coworker – who was very quick and polite– and mumbled,” Oh my god, that lady was sooo…“
I get it dude, people are frustrating I’ve been in your shoes, I’ve worked retail for the past 3 years, but talking badly about customers in front of customers is a huge no no.

So I came in here to get my hair colored. The lady who helped me out her name is Jessica. She is amazing. Great personality. Very helpful information about hair coloring and the different steps we had to go trough. She was sweet and had a lot of energy. I must say I will decently come back and see her to get my hair touched up.

Amazing! My experience there was awesome. I love shopping there before but in past customer service wasn’t good. Anyway, today I got an invite from my FB for this event so I decided to go. I’m glad I did! New workers & new management… I was treated with respect & felt comfortable. The manager was very helpful & loved the vibe! I’m so happy:) Thank u Ulta

I’ve been here before mostly when I need a new curling iron but last Friday a girlfriend of mine asked me to go with her make up shopping. We got there about 10:30am it was pretty quiet, when we walked in we were greeted not really sure by who, I’m guessing when they hear the door it’s just an automatic «hello»
My friend and I split up, I was hoping to find a eye brow pencil and a new concealer. I really wasn’t sure which brand to go with, I could’ve used some help but it seemed as the 3 to 4 girls standing at the register were more interested in talking among each other than walking around to help anyone. My friend and I helped each other, some employees did walk passed us at some point but never made eye contact let alone ask if we needed any help.
Bottom line… no customer service. I bought two things and spent about $ 50 one was a make up brush that broke before I ever unwrapped it and now I gotta make another trip out there. Only reason I didn’t give one star because I do like the products they carry, its just bad bad bad customer service.
I will stick to Nordstrom at Valley Fair, I am greeted there every time, receive samples and often remembered by first name.

Hello I’m from the UK and recently in California I’ve tried many salons and hair stylist and I have to say the her stylist name Whisper is one of the best I’ve in countered in a long time. I’ve since then made her my main hair stylist. The place if filled with many amazing stylist and products i recommend this place as the best in San Jose

This place sucks! Ugh.
The girls always seem so stuck up and give you attitude for no reason and they don’t wanna be bothered. I’m sure they’re not all like that but from all my experiences here, there seems to be a lot of staff but no one really asking if you’re doing okay.
If I approached one of them, they would give me a short answer while walking away so it wasn’t really personal either.
The person who greeted me today at the front was nice and she even offered to help so props to her when she caught me again in the aisles. Everyone else should be like her. She did an awesome job.
This time around it was much more fully stocked but it still seemed empty.
I’ll only come here if I really need to, but their attitudes need to go.

This place is a joke. Everything is disorganized. Came out here looking for some NYX lipsticks and I knew there was slim chance they have it since NYX products are always out of stock. But seriously at least put your products in the right place so I don’t spend 20 minutes looking hopefully that the lipstick that I want isn’t in the wrong place!

So yesterday was my first salon visit at Ulta. I thought I’d give it a shot using their «25% off first salon visit» coupon. I’m SO happy I did! My poor hair has been thru hell (read my other review at Lily Salon and Day Spa) and back. It’s been fried by a horrible hair dresser and I’ve nearly lost all hope of reviving it, so I’m skeptical and hesitant to let anyone near my hair.
I booked with WHISPER. She’s seriously amazing. I showed her a couple of pictures and she talked me thru the process. Our consultation was very casual without a rush. She’s very friendly and after I left, I felt as if she’d been my friend for years. Down to Earth, beautiful woman, inside and out. She has 18 years of experience. TRUST ME when I say you’re in good hands. I’ll update this review with a picture (soon).

I love coming to ulta because of the convenient location. They just ended their 21 days of beauty sale which I went a little crazy with I must admit. There were so many half off deals that I love on some favorite brand bestsellers. This is my go to place to go for all my major beauty needs.
I suggest signing up for the ulta beauty rewards because its totally worth it. They gave little free gifts here and there when I come in it’s really nice :)

It’s like every time I come here I am letdown. Last time I came here I couldn’t believe ulta doesn’t stock any kind of acrylic nail at home kits. Yet they sell nail polish out the ass? This time I came in with a coupon from their magazine offering a free mascara sample, the woman turned me down and says they ran out of those and only had a select number of them. Now, I know for for a fact that ULTA has so many samples to offer so when she didn’t even offer another different sample for me I was seriously pissed. What the fuck man? Get your shit together already this is getting old.

Writing a review for my salon experience with stylist Elena, I’ve been to her twice and it was the same 5 star experience with my hair! We went a shade darker and I was able to FINALLY achieve purple hair! She is super friendly, personable, and has a wonderful bubbly personality. She has done wonders with my hair every time, I don’t even recognize myself. We keep forgetting to do a before picture, but I will post it next time. The after is amazing. I will always go back just for her.

I come here mostly to buy purple shampoo and eyelashes. Most of the times that I’ve been here I’ve always experienced good or average customer service. I’ve seen some workers look annoyed at customers from time to time, but I’ve never experienced it myself. Everything seems pretty stocked here. The only time I came in and they didn’t have a product was for the AG Sterling Silver shampoo, but the Cottle location didn’t have it either so I can’t really take off any stars for that. I’ll keep coming back for my purple shampoos and lashes :)

Ask for Wisper. She’s the NEW manager there, and also knows hair very well. I speak to her and she understands exactly what I want and need. She’s consistent. It would be hard for me to imagine going anywhere else for my hair coloring and highlight needs.
Also, Ulta Salon on Curtner has added an onsite skincare expert too, from Colombia. She’s great kind, competent, helpful.
Everyone just wants the best for you there. It’s a good feeling.

Had my first facial here, and Lisney did a really good job with that. However, the customer service was horrible. They never helped me with anything and every employee seemed like they were busy with one thing or another, I had to wait at least 2 hours for someone to do my brows. After all of that, they even charged me extra and would not change the price! When I didn’t give any tips because the person that did my brows basically rushed through it because she wanted to go home, the cashier girls gave me the stink eye. Would not come back unless I really had to and had no other choice.
PS: The price for the brow wax service is way too overpriced considering the quality.
PPS: You can find cheaper prices at any asian hair salon.

Loved my haircut with Kaylee! I had a $ 25 coupon to the salon, so I figured why not give it a shot? I was pleasantly surprised.
She cut off a ton of my dead ends. My hair feels so much lighter.
The only pointer I would add was that I wish my hair-​wash had included a scalp massage! But maybe I’m just spoiled.
