TLC Mobile Pet Grooming

Buff is super awesome. My scaredy cat dog tolerates him which really says a ton. Convenient and he always does a great job.

Firstly, they are never on time, though they will often tell you to give them an hour after the apt time. Not professional.
They groomed my 14 lb shih tzu. They groomed him about 6 weeks ago, and had charged my $ 85, they said because the flea treatment they used was extra, ok fair enough. This time however they did no flea treatment and still charged me $ 85. When I asked, she said they never charged extra for services, though i swear to god we had a whole conversation about it last time, and that $ 85 was the standard. Given he weighs 14 lbs, and is 15yrs old and calm, and that I asked her not to do his nails, I feel that $ 85 for less than an hour for a dog his size and temperament is way too damn much. Especially since he looks meh-​just ok.
Also she had her own 2 dogs with her. They look like young, very hyper and very loud and yappy dogs, they were jumping all around the cab. Not the calm environment I want for my dog, which is why I pay for a mobile groomer in the first place. I don’t think its professional to travel with your own pets in the car while you work. Theres no way they aren’t distracting her and my dog too.
When I was paying her and I was pointing out the things about his cut I didn’t like or I thought she could have done better I just got uh-​huhs, no let me take him back to the fan quickly and fix or improve that, nada.
After using them twice I confident saying: There are other mobile groomers out there, I don’t think anyone should opt to use this service.

I do not recommend this service to pet lovers. I was over charged and not reimbursed with multiple follow up attempts. Then after the appointment I noticed my dog was excessively licking one paw and I saw he had been cut by the groomer ~ and she made no mention of it to me. This was my first and last appointment with TLC mobile pet grooming.

I’m writing an update to share with everyone the horrid experience I had with Gail recently. I typically hesitate to give poor reviews, but she actually endangered my pet and tried to cover up an injury she inflicted upon him. SHE SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS, NOR BE TRUSTED TO TAKE CARE OF OUR PETS.
I came home to find Gail holding Zoey with a tissue around his tail. She said she had «nicked» him and not to do anything, he will be fine. He was in obvious pain over the weekend, and when I went to touch his tail he growled and nearly bit me. This is very unlike his typical sweetness. I called Gail the following Monday and let her know that he is not acting normally and seems to be in pain, and that I should take him to the vet, perhaps he had an infection from the nick. She said the vet may probably take the rest of his tail off. I was flabbergasted and asked her what she meant. She said she had «lacerated his tail pretty badly» and that I should not tell the vet who did it. She lied to me about what had happened and her first thought was to protect her reputation. I told her I was furious, that she had put his life at risk. After two trips tot he vet, rounds of antibiotics and having to wear a cone, it turns out he was finally able to keep his tail. At least Gail reimbursed me for my out of pocket expenses, around $ 200, but frankly she got off cheap. I will repeat: SHE SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS, NOR BE TRUSTED TO TAKE CARE OF OUR PETS.

This is a review from an outsider. I’m am having a garage sale next to this groomer. She is yelling at the dog, extremely loud. I can not imagine her being kind to the poor little dog in there now. Please do not use this groomer. If you do, I definitely recommend staying near so you can watch your baby.

Buff did a great job with my 13 year old standard poodle. He was gentle and cleaned her ears wonderfully. I highly recommend their services as going to a regular groomer is way too much stress for my dog and me!

I’ve used them a few times in recent years, and they’ve always been quirky. But never again. It’s hard enough getting them to show up on time (or at all). But two hours after my last appointment came and went, I called to ask whether they were still coming. To which Gail responded, «Did you still want to do this today?» Yes although had anyone called to let me know how late, I would have said no.
Anyway Gail shows up to groom my kitties, very frenzied and also without the harness needed to wash them — and so uses her arm to hold them down instead. She also almost dropped my male cat while picking him up with one arm, and it flailed around eventually snagging her lip with his claw. I noticed when I re entered the van that he had a couple bleeding nails, which she said sometimes happens when clipping. Fair enough, except none of the nails had been trimmed. My cat had obviously been ripped from whatever he’d been grabbing onto and the nails tore.
I wouldn’t trust my pets to this service again. Not malicious, but can be careless and certainly unprofessional.

The first time I used TLC was a great experience for the most part. My dog, a mixed breed, looked so fluffy and she smelled amazing. They had asked me if I wanted to have her belly and butt shaved (for sanitary reasons) and I said sure! When she came out she was perfect. It wasn’t until after they left I realized that my dog had some pretty awful razor burn up and down her belly. Her nipple was slightly bleeding as well. I do work in a veterinary hospital so I knew it wasn’t too big a deal however they could have told me they did this and not surprise me with it. A lil communication is all it would have took to not make mama bear upset. I mean me of all people could understand if my dog was a little bit wiggly and they nicked her, that’s okay, just tell me it happened.
Anyway I forgot about that because they did do a wonderful job and in no time at all.
I called them back to make my dog another apt… I asked if there was any on the day I called-​Tuesday. The lady said no. She told me that if there was any cancelations she could call me. I said that was fine and gave her my info. I asked when would she be in my area, she told me the following monday. She told me she would call if there was any cancelations and we hung up. Well she never called me. I understand if there wasn’t any cancelations but not even a call back to set up an earliest apt either??! That’s weird, I thought they wanted business.
I would recommend following up with your clients better and communicating to try to get clients to make apts instead of just fitting them into canceled slots. I would have given less stars but I am going to give them one last shot sometime soon and update my review then.

I have used them serval times to groom my old (15 years old) dog who is in failing health. They have handled her with care and tenderness every time. They have been very pleasant on the phone and even taken the time to ask me how our old dog is doing. I would highly recommend they to anyone.

Brooke is the best! She arrived yesterday, just as scheduled, and my cat and I were both nervous. He was an absolute mess, and he was totally freaked out. Brooke was great to explain what she could do, and she did a fabulous job of calming both of us down and doing a very thorough job on a very matted cat. Oliver is so happy! He acts like a new cat, and has even started grooming himself. TLC was great from talking to Gail on the phone and setting up the appointment and Brooke doing a terrific job of grooming an unhappy and terrified cat. She is the BEST! Thank you TLC! I will be back and this time not wait so long.
I highly recommend their service!

I called TLC last fall after having shoulder surgery, and have used them ever since for my two cavaliers and our older lab. Sonia is wonderful and kind with all the dogs, and they always look beautiful. I like having them right in front of my house, and the pups don’t have to be kenneled and stressed out while they wait for grooming. TLC is worth every penny!

I can only give 4 stars because my toy poodle didn’t actually get groomed. We came to the downtown Sonoma chicken coop for the «pups on the patio» event. We decided to have our little guys get his nails done and a bath. They are not cheap but comparable. With the bath and blow dry, gal also brushed him out and cleaned his ears. Once his nails were trimmed she brought me back my pooch but asked to speak with me. I was appalled to see what she got out of my dogs ears!!! He is a long haired dog who requires a full grooming every 6 weeks (shampoo with a dip, cut, private parts, nails and ears).
Gail explained that they use a special powder to help clean the ears of all the long hair, wax, and good. She showed me what she got out of my dogs ears who had just been fully groomed two weeks ago. It was disgusting. I felt so bad for not realizing the groomers were not really cleaning his ears.
I plan on having him fully groomed by Gail in 4 weeks. It may cost more but I rather pay the extra $ 15 and know that the services I paid for will be properly executed.

Gail was great! I called last minute on a Monday hoping to get something. Which no other places ever got back to me or answered their phone. She came to my house after about an hour I called. She said she was ahead of schedule and could come to where I live in Los gatos. This was my first time getting my cats groomed and shaved so I was a little nervous. But she did such a good job and when my kitties were all done they didn’t seem freaked out at all. I have two cats about one year old. The boy is long hair and the girl is a Siamese. I would recommend her to anyone and can’t wait for future appointments! Thanks again Gail!

I’m a first time dog owner, and a hairdresser and I can’t say enough about BuFF and his knowledge and skill with our first groomed Labradoodle, Brody.
He is in our Los Gatos neighborhood on Thursdays and drove into town. I had noticed his service but inquired as he coiffed another blondie. Buff took the time to meet the pup, he toggled a groom leash and gave Brody treats during his first introduction and my dog has found the love between man and dog. We booked with Buff for the following week.
As a hairdresser, I felt at one point that I would maintain the trimming on my own, but I have since changed my mind as I can see the relationship evolve with Brody and Buff and the results are much better than what I could do myself. He has the golden touch and my puppy’s hair (long wavy coat) and has chosen the right lines for the doodles.
I trust Buff and know that no matter what, he will arrive as scheduled, keep my dog calm and well groomed, and his wagging tail tells me I’ve made a great choice.
I allow a 2 hour window for his work, and he’s right outside my door doing the work so I have the peace of mind that I won’t be rushing for pick up. Trust this dog lover, and know that he is out for the best interest of the dog and the owner.

Our Precious Angel, had a flea infestation and I called Gail and She proved herself to be a lifesaver and came to our home, the same day I called!!! THANK YOU, GAIL!!! She took such care in bathing our beautiful cat! She talked to her constantly, gave her back to us looking like a doll! If you need your cat or dog groomed do yourself a HUGE FAVOR, call Gail! She is FANTASTIC and we will be using her services again!
Just a quick side note, I called several places last night and early this morning… if you have a cat… some groomers only do cat services on certain days like Tuesdays or Thursdays, and most places I called last night and early this morning didn’t even have appointments till Monday at the earliest. If you have a flea problem sooner is better than later not only for your pet but for your household and we have 4 cats so once again… THANK YOU, GAIL!

I have been using Sonia for months now. As far as her grooming goes she is a great groomer.
As far as being a professional, consistent and honest person — I have learned, she isn’t.
At the end of every grooming session I book the following one. I do it with her and my caregiver all at the same time so no one gets it wrong. Sonia has never been god at confirming my appointments. I always have to text her the morning of the appt. to ensure she is coming. Often I don’t get a reply and she has been late.
However I understand there is no texting and driving and do not encourage it. I encourage pulling over safely and calling the client to let them know you are late.
Yesterday topped the cake. I booked an appointment a month ago. No one called to confirm (as usual) so I text Sonia to do so. I do this (texting her directly at her personal request. She asked me months ago NOT to involve her boss Gail when I had needs, questions or problems. I agreed for her sake, but now I know it basically prevented them from ever getting any complaints ever.)
Again, Sonia is a good groomer. However, in my personal experience, she has proven not reliable at all. As this is not the first problem like this.
I also noticed the last time she came she told me the bill was $ 100 instead of $ 70 like it had been. No reason as to why. I was too confused to ask about it.
So today I called to talk to the owner Gail and Buff? Unfortunately no happy resolution was found.
I have to say how disappointed I am in Sonia– personally and professionally. I treated her well and she was certainly paid well. My only requirement was timely service or a call to let me know what is going on. When that can not be done and instead I’m given insults and lies, it leaves me little choice but to change groomers. Obviously Sonia is not quite the person she initially presented herself as.

I met Sonia from TLC Mobile Pet Grooming this morning. She took care of my 4 ½ year old Toy Havanese named Snuggles. I was a little worried since this was his 1^st time with Sonia and 1^st ever mobile experience.

Sonia was easy to talk to, she listened and understood exactly what I wanted. I even had a situation with his ears because he’s fighting off an ear infection. She was careful with his ears and she cleaned them out.
Her Mobile unit was immaculate. I felt perfectly confident leaving him and being the only client sped things up. She was done in an hour. That was a full bath, trim, nails, ears, private parts and fluff dry. All for $ 70.
Top it all off… when she was done she offered to come up and see what unit I lived in and how to best access me for future visits. She even offered to come in and get him for me. I thought that was so very kind of her. I’ve recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and some days just moving is a challenge. It’s a comfort to know there is a great company like TLC Mobile Grooming that can come save the day!

I have used TLC several times now. My first appointment went well with Gail. Since then I communicate directly with the groomer for my area her name is Sonia and she is awesome! My doggie loves her! Sonia always returns my calls (or texts) and shows up on-​time. She does a fabulous job making my babygirl Sugar look beautiful.

We have experienced this place twice. The first time they arrived, they were two hours late. Second time I booked the appointment, it was a no show and when I called to speak to the person in charge in regards to the no show appointment, they said that the person that was suppose to come to our house was out running errands. She dismissed the conversation as if it was not a big deal.
She then said that she was going to try to contact the person that was being sent to our home but then never called us back. When I tried to call them back twice, they did not answer their phone. Generally speaking, I would not recommend this place to any pet owner, especially if you are on a schedule or short of time.
I would rate this a one star but only because I couldn’t give this a zero review.

TLC was on time, professional, did a wonderful job washing and giving my cut his lion cut, and were done when they said they would be.

I met the owner, he was all over a blonde groomer, grabing her waist and calling her honey! It made me sick this old man looks like a pervert he belongs on dateline!
Very unreasonable.
