The Creative Group

I am relatively new to the Bay Area, and had been looking for an entry-​level position in User Experience Design for about 2 months before connecting with Christina Lor at TCG. Two weeks from meeting with Christina I landed a job as a User Experience Designer. I was not only shocked, but immensely grateful that things fell into place that quickly (which I know is not the norm).
Prior to working with Christina I had been in contact with a few recruiters all of which promised the world, but never really followed through (I’m sure you’ve all been there). Christina did a great job at being transparent with me, and setting realistic expectations while offering support and advocating for my best interest.
TCG is a truly reputable and reliable recruiting agency. They take the time to meet with their candidates in person, and really strive to understand you and what your professional goals are before pushing a job on you. Christina worked hard to find me a job that combined my interests and her client’s — creating a pretty awesome win-​win for everyone involved. This place has helped me land 3 awesome, Graphic design jobs. I owe it all to them for putting in the good word and showcasing my design skills before I met with them for an interview. My last job I was hired without an interview. They simply told me, «we seen your awesome work, when can you start?» Since than, that company has brought me in as a full time Graphic Designer with full benefits. Couldn’t have done it without TCG. I love how professional TCG is. My recruiter, Christina Lor, has been nothing short of supportive. She goes above and beyond her job description, takes her time really getting to know her candidates, and is great about touching base. So glad I get to work with her to find positions that fit the scope of my future in design.

Thanks SO much to Kimberly for finally finding me a job, I had literally just about given up! I have been looking for over a year for a job as a Jr. Graphic Designer and the market has been hot, but tough for someone who’s not just out of school. :) I had signed up with at least 5 other agencies and other misc. recruiters and quite frankly, its been exhausting and discouraging work.
I decided to give Creative another try after some unsuccessful attempts late last year with them and was very lucky to meet with Kimberly, who came on board a few weeks ago. As agencies go, TCG is a good company. It’s a part of Robert Half and focuses on Marketing Professionals.
My recruiter Connie Yue, is the best recruiter I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with in an agency. She understands what you’re looking for and works hard to find a company that meets your needs. She’ll provide options that fit your personality as well as working style. Connie is open, honest and listens to your feedback.
In this business it’s about quickly placing staff in positions as fast as possible, but finding someone who cares about goals makes a world of difference to your happiness and drive at a company. TCG does well with recruiters like Connie!

one word: CONNIE
During my entire freelance career as a graphic designer, i’ve been signed up with 6+ agencies, and Connie is just the best out there. She takes the time to get to know her candidates, keeps in touch, checks up on your status, and is always on top of finding a job for you. Even when things were slow, she never forgot about me. It makes such a huge difference just keeping in touch with your candidates! She fully understood the direction i was trying to go and she landed me GREAT assignments. I’ve had agents (not at TCG) that only call me when they were desperate, told me to add skills to my resume i didn’t have, gave me advice that lead me no where, and inevitably forgot about me, but Connie has done none of those things, she is very honest about everything, and NEVER forgets about you.
Im not sure i can say much about TCG, as I’ve heard bad things about their other offices. My only complaint was that TCG payroll sent my checks in unsealed envelopes and sometimes other company’s envelopes (i guess they ran out).
But If your looking for a creative agent, go with Connie.
Update: I have to give a shout out to Cartson and Kimberly over at TCG. They have managed and placed me in great companies and are ALWAYS there to answer my questions or even just to hear my concerns. Connie, is no longer there, but if you get Cartson and Kimberly then you will be in great hands.
