I’ve been all around the country and I love crab. This place is hands down the best sea food place I’ve ever been to. Well worth the price. If you don’t like the long lines order to go and it will be ready by the time you get there from your house. Great service as well with a lot of great eating choices. When ever I’m out of state I miss my Boiling Crab.

This is my favorite place to eat. I can come here every single day. They have great customer service as well. Definitely recommend if you love shrimp.

Amazing meal for me as usual. I haven’t actually tried this location before but I was sure it would be just as good as the other boiling crab in San Jose!(I just wished there was a boiling crab in San Francisco!) There’s always a long way wait for boiling crab but the staff was incredibly accommodating because my party had to add 1 – 2 people and they processed everything so smoothly. There was a bit of a wait to get all of our food. My go to orders are the shrimp and Cajun fries, usually at medium spicy. Their spices and seasonings are just delicious. I’m getting cravings just thinking about it now! I didn’t add any sides to the shrimp but I definitely potatoes and corn are good options. For boiling crab, I’d come back any time for the messy, delicious, hands on experience!

Mostly yummy as always but the shrimp was a little over cooked this time. I typically go to the Capital location but tried this out. For starters, it’s bigger! That’s a huge plus. Butttt parking is kinda annoying here in the plaza… so a double edged sword. Food, service here are more or less standard.

Every time I go to Boiling Crab I swear my happiness level raises to 100. I was able to visit both locations in San Jose during my most recent visit and have to say this one is just a little bit better since the location is bigger. I always order crawfish and shrimp medium spicy and the flavor is always perfection. The service is consistently good and they make sure you get everything you need. I definitely recommend going for lunch dinner the wait isn’t as bad. They always recommended coming back a little bit before your suggested time which is great. Expect at least an hour to two hours of a wait but don’t get frustrated I swear it’s worth it!

We came here in a group of 10 and luckily didn’t have to wait that long for a table. We tried the shabang sauce on shrimp, clams, and 2 dungeness crab, and I wasn’t impressed at all. The sauce wasn’t that flavorful, or maybe I should go with someone who can eat spicy to fully experience the shabang flavor. The freshness was just ok. Maybe I just had Crab Hut in San Diego the week before and my standard bar was raised a little bit too high. Oh yeah they don’t have garlic noodles like in Kickin Crab. Sofar Kickin Crab has the best cajun sauce to em.

Good stuff! The staff was very friendly & attentive, and the food was pretty good. The side of corn w/the king crab was amazing. 2 King crabs, 1 cup of gumbo and 2 sodas(a little under $ 100) Gumbo tasted a bit unseasoned(like a can of progresso soup over rice) but when you’re creole, the bar is set a bit higher!

There’s always a line here no matter the time, but when you get in and sit down to order and eat, it feels all worth it! Servers are nice and attentive even though it’s really busy, seating is not too crowded and the location is perfect since there are a bunch of parking spaces available at the plant. Portions are pretty decent as well! My favorite has got to be the wholeshabang because I life the garlicky flavor

I love this place. I found out about the Boiling Crab when having a consultation for Smart Liposuction… No bullshit! I was new to Cali, and wanted to drop some pounds. After eating here, I learned that I don’t give a shit about losing pounds and just wanted them to poor the«whole shebang» sauce down my gullet, and maybe a little to the taint region. IT’S THATGOOD!!! Warning, what you put in will come out the same way but even spicier. I’ve found that the thicker, softer«picker upper» is a commodity here. Just saying, I’m warning you. The stuff comes out like nuclear baby food. Eat hearty, and keep an eye on the glory hole and you should be good to role!

Why can’t the cajun chowder with rice be asked to separate the rice and the chowder when you can actually order them indiviudally? Overall, food and service is average here. I like Claw Shack at San Jose better and feel their sauce is more to my taste, stronger and heavier.

Boiling Crab has always been one of my go-to places. I never had an issue with the food or service until today. The wings were very red and bloody as shown in the picture. As a server myself, it’s understandable and easily can be resolved. When I called the server over, she looked at the chicken and said herself that it didn’t look right. However when the manager came out, she talked to us as if we were a bunch of kids. She explained to us how the chicken isn’t undercooked and the redness was from the bone marrow. By the look of those wings, that’s abnormally bloody. Although she did take the wings off our tab, I highly didn’t appreciate the way the manager approached us. I would never argue with my customers, but rather try to accommodate them as best as possible. Definitely going to stop going to this location from now on.

Boiling Crab used to be the go to for my crawfish fix; but these last few times, I’ve been very disappointed. Not only are the lines atrociously long, but the quality of the seafood is not well reflected in the increasing cost. The shrimp looks like it’s been a few days old(the skin is practically stuck on the meat) and the everything sauce gets less and less each time. The pound is now $ 13 compared to its initial $ 9 price which was a steal! Adding a piece of corn now is $ 1.50 as well… Though I was once a die hard Boiling Crab fanatic, I don’t think I’ll be back again considering how many other crawfish options there are now in the Bay Area.

Had a ton of fun eating here last night. Probably the one place you can go to eat and not care about table manners, let’s face it, you’re going to get messy while eating the delicious seafood. Warning: the wait is super long on the weekends. We got there and out our names down around 6:30 and didn’t get seated until 8:30. If you get there around 8, you’re going to be told that you’re not guaranteed a spot, so be prepped! The food itself was pretty good! The crab was fresh and the actual seasoning itself was delicious. Good spot for a date! Service was meh, but it was pretty busy so the servers might have just been swamped. Overall a good experience and a place that I would go back to again!

This place is great The line is super long I had to wait over an hour The place was packed My hostess was superb My waitress was fast and energetic The guys who brought my food were continuous The food was great Since I am not a big crab fan and that is why most come here Instead I ordered the potatoes and the French fries I also ordered a punch to drink My waitress brought my ketchup and she also gave me extra salt and pepper, she gave me some lines too The potatoes were spicy but good I ordered the mix And the fries I got were the lemon ones. Next time I will have to bring friends cause this group caters to groups and is ideal for parties and groups of people. If you have not yet been you should go It’s the place to go to, everyone goes here !!!

Hello my name is Lindsay and I am addicted to boiling crab. (Hello Lindsay!) My love for boiling crab usually includes a good two hour drive with a long hour wait or even longer. The longest I waited was three hours.(No complaints here!) However today was a miracle – I waited 0 minutes… Only because i was first in line when the restaurant opened at 3pm. So here’s how it works, you come in and make a reservation. They tell you a hideous long wait time and you cry about it and wait. After a while they call your name and your party is seated. I highly recommend ordering a dozen of oysters raw. Along with calamari, but keep some to dip into you shrimp bag. When I order my shrimp bag load it with the whole sha-bang, mild and a corn. I sometimes do a side of sweet potatoes or rice whichever I feel like getting down with that day. Then the food comes and I roll up my sleeves and get down to business. A few tears and sniffles come but afterwards I am satisfied.

I usually enjoy my lunch here but this time, it was pretty basic. I used to eat here pretty frequently but it’s been a few months so it’s finally time to come back! I normally order my pound of crawfish + a corn in the bag but I only wanted half a pound. They don’t sell crawfish by the halves so I ended up getting shrimp + half a pound of sausage – the whole shabang medium. The food did not come out smoking hot to where I couldn’t pick up my food. Usually it does, but it didn’t this time. The sausage was pretty dry and the sauce didn’t soak into the sausage well at all. I knew I should have gotten my corn. Overall, the food was basic this time. The Cajun fries are always good so you can never go wrong with those! Service was excellent as well.

It’s a 2 hour wait to get crabs. (Or a one night stand, depends on the situation?) At boiling crab, you don’t need to be drunk and go home with WHOMEVER is available at the bar… wait a minute. This is a kid friendly place. There’s no bar here. * sad face * BUT. There are spice bomb, give you the sniffles, burn your hands a bit, garlic stinky breath crabs available for your eating pleasure!!! :0 The dealio: you sit down after a horrendously long wait(and there’s ALWAYS a wait), you pick the combo you want(crab and shrimp, or clam and clams or if you just want crabs or shrimp or clams, etc) tell them the spiciness level(i’m a wimp/i can take it/i want to get hot squirts tonight) order a soda or just plain water to wash it all down and you’re good to go. Don’t forget to order a dozen oysters since let’s face it, slurping down oysters really gets my appetite going like no other. I loved getting down and dirty with my hands. Everyone has a method on peeling their shrimp or cracking their crabs, but be careful on the juice. I got squirted right in the eye and the spiciness burned my eyeballs for a good ten minutes!(That doesn’t really happen with a one night stand …)

I found a new thing to love at The Boiling Crab: Raw oysters!!! My SO and I got 24 of them for $ 32. They were deliciously fresh and surprisingly easy to remove from their shell(be careful because I slurped one up so fast, I almost chocked on it). I think they were Eastern Oysters? I’m guessing of course so correct me if I’m wrong! My favorite way to eat raw oysters include Tabasco sauce for some heat, a hint of lime, salt, and pepper, and a dash of their cocktail sauce. My SO and I agree that the fried calamari here is one of the best. Their calamari consists of only rings. They’re lightly breaded and fried, not dripping in oil, thank goodness. I only wish that it was seasoned a bit more because it was pretty bland, although they do come with dipping sauce. The best Cajun fries I’ve had, but the heat level can be a hit or miss. One time I asked for mild and it almost burnt my tongue off. This time I asked for mild and didn’t taste any spice at all. 1lb of shrimp, the whole sha-bang, mild was delicious as usual. Shrimp was plump and sweet. Service was impeccable. Our server made sure our waters were always filled and even left us extras just in case she couldn’t get to us.

You can always count on boiling crab being hella busy. Just plan for your wait to be at least 1 hour. The service is pretty good. The workers seem to know how to handle a huge crowd. The shrimp with the whole shabang is on point. The pound definitely fills you up. Ordered some Cajun fries and a corn. All great sides to pair with the shrimp. The wait ended up being too long so we just ordered to go and ate it outside. Not a bad choice if you are hella hungry or pressed for time. Overall: will return and probably order to go.
