Straw Hat Pizza consistently delivers poor quality pizza. The one star is for their consistency! They use low quality cheese and toppings. Most of the ingredients come from a can and taste awful.

Meh is right. I’m not really picky about pizza, but this kind of disappointed. I had been to Straw Hat way back when I was a kid and was looking for the«this is just as good as it was when I was a kid» nostalgic reaction. It was bland and as someone else mentioned just lukewarm, not hot. The toppings were ok, but sauce was almost non-existent. I don’t normally like extra sauce or anything so just a regular amount would have been nice. Pizza dough was kind of cardboard tasting… Pass.

High marks for the great experience we had with a 3 year old’s birthday party. The owner was very cool and let us have a section of the restaurant for a couple of hours… we set up decorations and let the kids run wild. The pizzas were really good; we got one each of the king size veggie and cheese. I figured everything was premade and shoved into the oven… wrong. They make the dough on site and add other ingredients to order. Also, they have a lot of customers who are strict vegetarians, so they have separate areas and utensils for veggie vs meat pizzas… I think some in our party appreciated that. Would definitely come back.

The food was great!!! They have great deals for families! And also have an arcade for the kiddos while we wait for the food which is a plus. They have plasma tvs with various games going. Overall experience was pleasant would highly recommended FYI the cashier is bilingual and has exceptional service keep up the good work we will be coming back

Haven’t been to straw hat pizza in over 20 years and came because I was super hungry and it was close. We ordered a medium pepperoni pizza and it came out in like 15 mins. It was really good! Sauce had good flavor and really cheesy how I like it. We’re definitely coming back!

I purchased a Medium Buffalo Chicken Pizza tonight online and picked it up 20 minutes after my order was confirmed. The pizza wasn’t hot but was just warm but the overall flavor was great. The reason this business gets a 2⁄5 star review is the customer service. On Wednesday’s pizzas are ½ off and there is a sign to display this on the register. I asked the clerk to take advantage of this offer which was valid for take-out and he simply refused saying I had my 5% discount from an online order. I hadn’t paid for the pizza yet so there was still an opportunity to apply the discount but both employees refused. The difference in cost would have been roughly $ 10.00 and I’m sure a deal like this would have brought me back on another Wednesday. Overall the luke warm pizza and poor customer service will keep me away from here for a long time to come.

Visited with three 10 year olds and they all wanted something different. One third cheese, one third sausage, one third mushroom and pineapple. They made it perfectly. Crust was crispy but not too much, ingredients were definitely fresh. Salad bar looked very fresh. A few tvs that provide options for entertainment. Restrooms and tables very clean. Tables out front for seating options too. Recommend!

Wanted to try this since I was at The Plant. the food was ok, price can be a little bit cheaper but hey, it’s lunch buffet. The thing that bothered me was the salad bar. Found a string of human hair on the lettuce bowl and immediately called the cashier to remove it. She did at that moment. Also the sofa-ish benches are extremely wear out and dirty. Was afraid of even sitting down properly. I really wanted to enjoy the food but after slowly finding these bad things, won’t be coming back until they can fix these small problems that’ll cause children to get sick.

Awesome range of pizzas. They have special veggie Pizzas which are much better than Tasty Subs n Pizza. Above all, the owner of the place– Mr. Sanjay Agarwal is very a friendly person and offers great customer service. I would highly recommend this pizza place.

We used this place to celebrate a kid’s birthday. They were quite accommodating, even offered to store the cake for a few hours and brought it out when I asked them. We were able to easily decorate the corner of the restaurant where we had the celebration. The pizza was quite good as well. The sizes seem to be larger than typical pizza in other places. I normally get the largest and it is good for 4 people, so I got 3 largest pizzas for 14 people. We had plenty of pizza left.

Well. I was craving for pizza… And this was near by. I wish this satisfied my craving… But it didn’t. Maybe it was because I did the lunch buffet.(Different quality?). The dough was… Like frozen pizza. Bad frozen pizza where the dough doesn’t rise when baked. Definitely not going back.

My husband brought me here after telling me he hasn’t had it since he was a kid but remembers it being very tasty. We ordered a large pizza for 20 bucks and did half and half of the California veggie and Classic veggie… both yummy. One has red sauce and one has white sauce. They have other good veggie options like Greek pizza and some indian, paneer flavored options as well. Oh and the jalapeño cheese twists were awesome. This location in particular was not very put together. I’m talking ripped benches, random Christmas light decorations… some new stuff mixed in with some old dingy looking stuff. Not very well kept. I would see prefer taking it to go next time… unless they fix that place up!

The pizza is nothing extraordinary and the menu options are limited and not very appetizing. I ordered the Aloha pizza and it was meh. Furthermore this place is filthy, the booths are falling apart, faded and ripped, the bathroom was disgusting and the tiny kids ‘arcade’ is yucky and the day I went there it was filled with very loud and rowdy children. I don’t think I’ll ever step back on that place.

Y’all got me fucked up. They have a little advertisement that says«Lunch Buffet $ 6.99 Everyday» but then they have a little note on their door that says,” No lunch buffets on Saturdays and Sundays, sorry for the inconvenience.” Honey, don’t advertise that you have a lunch buffet everyday and have a note that says no lunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays because that’s just contradicting and also false advertisement.

A long long time ago, I worked for a Straw Hat Pizza in my home town. It was my first real job, following my paperboy duties. I always thought they served some of the best pizza around. I believed this is so because the crust is different. not too soft, hard, thin or thick. Just right. I had also not been to a straw hat in many years, since I moved to SJ. I decided to come here for my lunch since its right by my work. I had been wanting to come here since I had seen a guy spinning one of their signs out by Curtner and Monterey. I went on the web and noticed they had a buffer for %6.99 for pizza and salad from 11 – 2EVERYDAY! I didnt want to come at 12 since it could possibly be too busy, so i got there at 1. There was a few pizzas left and groovy twist. In the time I was there they brought out two new pizzas and more twists. If you want a drink, they go for $ 1.99. The pizza was good, I had about 8 slices and a salad trip. My salad plate only consisted of jello, cucumber, lettuce and potato salad. Its not the worlds best salad bar, but it has its basics. The place itself is updated and had no real decorations. The Straw Hat I was use to had surfboards and all kinds of silly junk on the walls, almost like Bucca. I’ve always hated the parking in the plant shopping center. It feels so tight and crowded while you are driving. it only takes one sucky driver to ruin your day! The staff was nice. When we got there they were having issues with some customers. something about them paying with a prepaid card and their pin not working and them arguing that the pin is correct. Those people eventually called their bank and got it figured out, in case you happen to care for the drama.
