Hi, I promise I won’t be stealing anything from your store. Please don’t give me that look. Wait a minute, how DARE you give me that look?! Is it me or are Indian cashiers really paranoid? Do people come in to steal often? Anyway, this store has what I usually need. Maggie noodles, those thin pancakes to snack on. Prices are pretty decent, but MAKESURE to watch them as they ring you up. Sometimes I am charged for the full prices, even though the things I buy are on sale. Get in, get out. The general layout and cleanliness of the store doesn’t really call for much browsing to be done.

don’t be fooled by the name, this place has nothing to do with the spice girls and their awesome movie, «spice world.» while briefly disappointed, i quickly recovered once i learned that this is a bad ass spice market right on my side of town. spice world doubles as an indian grocery store AND bollywood video depot. very nice. the selection of spices is huge and very reasonably priced. i was able to pick up decent sized bags(think 7 oz.) of cumin, coriander, and turmeric for less than $ 3.00 a piece. way better than what you’d pay at any regular grocery store. there was an entire row dedicated to various types of lentils and a few items i’d never seen before. another row contained about 6 different kinds of rice and various jars of more stuff i’d never seen before. they do carry fresh produce but the selection was so small that i didn’t even bother to check it out. if you can handle the overwhelming and pungent aroma of asofetida, then this might be the spice mart for you. oh and something else to know, minimum $ 10 purchase to use your credit card.
