Came in with my family after searching Unilocal to satisfy our snow craving. The price is super affordable and the snow is tasty. They also give you pretty big portions. We ordered the Che (s), Berry Chocolate (m) and Durian with rainbow jelly (m). Only downside: they were out of fresh cut strawberries for the night. Other than that, we will definitely come back again soon! The owners were super friendly too.

Love the fact they opened a location in the Evergreen neighborhood.
On a hot Saturday afternoon, when we were craving for something cold, ice cream came to our minds and our choice was Snow Lounge!
My choice that day was Milk berry delight — shaved milk ice cream, with strawberries, boba and drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce.
The milk ice cream was delicious and loved the mix of caramel and chocolate sauce, although I would have liked a little more generosity with those two sauces. Nevertheless, it was still very good.
I’d love to come back again to try the other flavors. Taro, especially is calling me!!!

Snow Lounge sell shaved ice and macaron. place has just a few tables, so it’s not actually a lounge. no décor either. just plain vanilla.

This place was pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon which we didn’t take for too good of a sign but I really wanted to give it a try and I love snow ice. It’s a small place with a couple tables and the worker came in after we walked in. I assume she was taking a break somewhere.
As we debated what to get, she offered us suggestions and was really kind and helpful. You get a number of free toppings depending on size. I got a mango snow with strawberries and mango mochi, The snow itself was decent but a little too packed for my liking (probably because of the condensed milk that drenched the top) because it kind of defeats the purpose of light snow. The mango mochi was much harder than mochi should’ve been which make it difficult to eat sadly.
Before we left, she also offered a loyalty card. I might be back but I have had better snow ice. The service was very good though!

Five stars for the lady at the front. Very accommodating for our first time.
My son says his Mango Snow looks like banana chopped into spaghetti strips! He got fruit loops and strawberries on his. He was very happy.
I got Green Tea Snow with Mango Popping Boba and Condensed Milk. Awesome. I realized too late that checking in before you purchase gets you that drizzle for free. Save for next time. Next time I wanna get mango sides, that looks yummy, it’s just that all sides add 50 cents (why doesn’t my phone have a symbol for cents?!)
This place is hidden between major stores Safeway and Walgreens. Once you find those, it’s tucked between Popeyes and 8elements over by pet food express.

Came in on a Sunday with my sisters for our sweet tooth cravings. Small place, trying to remember distinctively but there were about 3 to 4 tables in here. As you walk in, the menu will be to your left. Seperating from the two boards — customizing your own and their specialties. Small, Medium and Large are the sizes they go by and they could range to $ 3-​$ 8 for customize. For specialties I am not quite sure if it is the same prize but I think there is a few dollars difference. I did not get to ask! This place is owned by two Vietnamese owners which were very friendly.
My sisters and I settled for the Che (Milk) Snow and the Matcha Green Tea. The texture of the snowice was extremely fluffy, mouthmelting, and soft. The best snowice dessert that I EVER had. You know when you try snow ice and still taste the crushed ice? Well. I can safely say that there was completely no speck of ice the every single bite I had! It is SO MUCH better than Sno-​Crave Teahouse and many of the other boba places that I have tried! Sadly, I cannot say that this place tastes better than Sno-​Zen only because Sno-​Zen has a different texture and look to their own type of snowice.
Our two orders were amazing and the tapioca pudding on the side went really well with the Milk Snow. The flavoring topped onto the snowice was evenly distributed, extremely tasty!
OH, and don’t forget their stamp card! Buy 9 and get the 10^th Small snow with one topping for free! & Of course, one stamp per snow!
We are glad we stopped by for dessert here. I will be returning and will take others with me to prove to them that this is better than most places they have tried!

This is probably my new favorite place to grab desserts!
I brought my nieces here today after Bambu was closed. I was not sure how this place worked but the lady who was there (assuming she’s the owner) was eager to teach me the ropes.
She explained that we could choose from the different selections of snow plates or customize our own. Obviously I would choose to make my own! I ordered two small plates for my nieces. One was strawberry snow with mango popping boba and the other was mango snow with strawberry popping boba. (can you guess what their favorite flavors are? Haha)
Now my first bite of this was absolutely amazing. I am still puzzled at the texture of the snow. It’s not icy like shaved ice but it’s not exactly creamy like ice cream. It’s like in between! I couldn’t get enough of it and kept eat more! As I was eating, I noticed the pictures on the wall and that made me want to try the other flavors. Next on my list is taro and green tea for sure. And of course I definitely want to taste the mocha and macron toppings!
Make sure you check in so you can get 1 free drizzle. And make sure it better be condensed milk because omggg it’s heavenly on too of mango snow!
I love this place! And the customer service is excellent! I hope she remembers me next time. She gave me a stamp card too! So challenge accepted!

2014 Unilocal 365 CHALLENGE — ²⁷⁰⁄₃₆₅
Came here for the first time a few weeks ago. I went with my boyfriend and my friend like five minutes before they closed on a Friday night LOL. Fortunately they were nice enough to let us still order even though I could tell they were starting to keep shop.
They had several snow flavors and a variety of toppings (not self serve). I ended up getting the plain milk snow with strawberries, crushed Oreos and mochi. I normally like to have brownie bites rather than Oreos, but they didn’t have any and the woman working there said that what I ended up getting was a very popular combo. My friend got the green tea snow with mango and lychee. I forget what my boyfriend got.
The consistency was very light. A little lighter than I like for it to be (my favorite consistency is from Blockheads Shavery in LA, or Snowflake Teahouse in Fremont). The flavor was decent, but could have been more prevalent.
I have never gotten Oreos on my shaved snow before. It was not too bad, but I didn’t LOVE it.
Overall, I kind of had a mediocre visit here. The shaved snow was decent but it wasn’t enough for me to really enjoy or become a fan of this place. 3 stars.

Came here with my girlfriend one night when we were dessert hopping.
The place seemed somewhat busy, but a few of the people sitting at the tables were employees just chilling. We walked in and were greeted and helped promptly. The lady recommended the Taro Snow with blueberry mochi and popping boba, so we tried that one. The workers here are really nice!
Honestly, this place is lacking compared to other shaved snow places in the area. The taro flavor was just okay. I wished that they gave more toppings for what we paid. The large was ~$ 8 and didn’t have as much toppings or a variety of toppings like I expected.
I’m willing to give this place another shot though, but I think I’ll be making my own creation next time.

My family and I had just finished dinner and were hankering for some sweets. «A new snow place opened, want to try it?» Of course! The last time I had snow was at Snow Crave in the bay and Snow Monster and Snow Factory in SoCal, so I couldn’t wait to give a new place nearby a try.
Five of my family members (aged 10 – 24) sped off to Snow Lounge to get a taste of the goods. We shared two large snows: strawberry snow with mangoes and mochi and green tea snow with rainbow jelly and strawberries, both ordered for dine-​in. We all agreed that the toppings were rather paltry, especially the fruits. The green tea left a peculiar aftertaste, which was markedly not green tea flavor but some other green color mystery flavor.
Service was slow, as it was 7pm on a Sunday with only one person taking orders and a second making the snow.
The interior is quite austere and empty, with very limited seating.
Having had snow in SoCal and at more established snow locations in the bay, I would definitely say that Snow Lounge has some catching up to do. Perhaps I will give them another go if I am having a super craving that I don’t want to drive too far off to satisfy. Despite the summer heat, I will likely be satisfying my cold sweet craving with boba or ice cream, or snow elsewhere.

Such a cute little place! A perfect location in Silver Creek/​south east San Jose area. I’ve had Snow Crave/​Flake in Fremont and I gots to say, I like this place a lot better.
I love that they have three different sizes and so many different toppings too! Almost like a frozen yogurt place. They also have some pretty exotic/​unique flavors such as passion fruit, durian, guava, not just the typical taro and mango. They offer to go options as well as dine-​in, though it is a really small place for many people to dine in.
The managers were really nice and went around asking how everything was and they made a lot of recommendations for us, since it was our first time there.
My only gripe is that all the syrups cost extra and don’t count as a free topping.
I had the Tropic Kailua — passionfruit snow with rainbow jelly, Fresh lychee fruit, fresh mango fruit, and coconut shavings and condensed milk.
The pre-​made desserts come with so many toppings! So you definitely get a good deal, and you can always switch out toppings you don’t like as well. I was very happy to see that they had a lot of fresh fruit toppings and not everything was a jelly soaked in syrup.
I’ll definitely be backk.

Got the durian shaved snow with condensed milk. I didn’t get any topings because I was already pretty stuffed from dinner.
I love durian, and the flavor didn’t disappoint. The texture wasn’t as good as their rival, Snow Zen. If I went to this place before Snow Zen my rating would have been higher.
Prices are affordable. Service was friendly. Seating is limited because its such a small space.

Since my best friend likes shaved ice/​shaved snow more than ice cream, we decided to check out Snow Lounge for dessert. The shop isn’t very big — they only have 2 – 3 small tables and 1 big table.
We ordered a medium Che ($ 6 – 7) from their menu which comes with rice pudding, red bean, lychee, and mango. Although she did drench our shaved snow with condensed milk (I LOVE condensed milk), I felt like the portions of the toppings were lackluster. There wasn’t anything amazing about the overall dish, and I usually love shaved snow. Like their boba options, San Jose needs to step up their game in the shaved snow department.

Its a really small shop between like popeyes and 8 seasons or something so you gotta look out for it.
The shave ice is like taiwanese kind not korean kind where its like ice chunks, but its the creamy shaved kinda. I got the Matcha Love or something. Its green tea shaved ice with red bean and mochiiiiii. I love mochi! It was super good and me and my boyfriend finished a large between the two of us.
The owner was super nice and asked if it was good and she was really friendly. I will probably come back since its been so hottt lately!

mmmm probably of the cheapest place to get shaved snow and you dont feel like such a fatass for eating the whole thing LOL. It’s closer than all the way up in Fremont, thats for sure.
The inside is brightly lit so it makes have a happy ambiance. The workers are happy to let you sample or answer any of your questions! They just came out with a new flavor — durian! for you durian lovers LOL. not a lot of people like it, but its a specialty if stores have that flavor. They gave us a cup to try and the durian flavor is really subtle so youre not overwhelmed.
My friend ended up getting the green tea (medium) combo which includes red bean, condensed milk and mochi. I got the small melon shaved snow with mochi and condensed milk. The small is good for a snack or a dessert after dinner and its only 4 dollars! The medium is around $ 5 i think. The melon flavor is sweeter than im used to, but still really good. The green tea flavor is also very subtle, like the durian but delicious if youre looking for something that isnt too sweet. The shaved snow itself isnt too dense, very creamy and light. More on the yogurt side than ice cream.
Overall, i would def com back again! I want to try all the other flavors and the different combos they have. Best place for inexpensive shaved snow!

One of the most recent «snow» shops in the area. They have three sizes, small medium and large.
Start by picking a size, pick your flavor, then add your toppings.
My bf and I shared a medium and I thought it was more than enough since we didn’t want to go overboard on the sweets.
Ordered a medium green tea with condensed milk and added almonds, Mochi, and red bean since that’s what the worker recommended.
The shaved ice consistency was okay, didn’t melt too quickly. But I would suggest not getting the condensed milk on top because it masks the green tea flavor and makes the texture a bit too sticky.
The store itself is pretty small and there’s about four tables in total. The workers (one may have been the owner?) we’re very friendly and sweet. They offered recommendations, asked if we enjoyed our snow, and were very knowledgeable.

Fiancé and I was shopping next door and saw Snow Lounge just opened last month so we took a peek inside. The place is pretty tiny with a couple of chairs but we saw they had the snow which I noticed is recently becoming more popular in the area. It’s not like a snow cone, with sugary syrup water on top. It’s actually flavored ice that is shaved very thinly in layers to create a light, airy texture. We decided to get a small $ 2.95, which comes with one topping. A syrup is an additional 25 cents and any additional topping is 50 cents. Toppings ranged from sliced fruits, candies, typical toppings you find at a froyo place.
We chose strawberry flavored with mochi topping and condensed milk. The size was a good amount for the two of us to share. We easily could’ve eaten more but we wanted to give it try first.
Verdict: It was very good! I like that the snow was not bland, it had a lot of flavors similar to ice cream. You could taste the strawberry flavors and interestingly, it had a milky taste to it. It’s a good alternative to ice cream because it feels lighter and a good change if you’re a froyo fan. What’s interesting is that the woman working there didn’t know if there was milk in the ice, especially good to know for customers that may be lactose intolerant.

Not the best shaved snow I’ve had, but far from the worst.
Shaved snow is definitely trending upward in popularity as a dessert. If you don’t know what it is, it is not like shaved ice at all because the flavor is frozen into the blocks of ice and the shaving machine gives it a distinct texture by cutting off thin slices instead of grinding it. When I learned about Snow Lounge a few days ago, I knew I had to give them a try.
Snow Lounge is in the plaza with the Safeway. Specifically, it’s between 8Elements and Popeye’s. They have three size options of shaved snow, and I went for a medium mango snow ($ 4.95) with mango and mango mochi as the free toppings. I’m used to certain places providing one sweet sauce free, but when I found out that it was 25 cents extra and chose not to order it, the lady made a very nice gesture and offered to throw in condensed milk free.
I must start with the texture. My ideal for shaved snow is for it to be «hard» enough that it’s tough to manipulate and cut w/​a plastic spoon, but the way they prepare and cut it here makes it softer than that. However, their version is substantial enough and does not disappear so quickly as some sort of frozen yogurt or lesser ice cream might. Yeah, let’s just say I’ve had worse.
Flavor of the snow was decent. I’m now thinking that most places mix sweetened/​condensed milk into their mango such that it obscures the real mango flavor. I also tasted my friend’s green tea snow and found authentic green tea flavor that was probably mixed with some milk. I really wanted to try guava or passion fruit, but I had to go with a familiar flavor for review’s sake.
The toppings come in a very modest portion at best, but there’s enough to enjoy toppings in every bite if you don’t overload your mouth early. The mango fruit was good if a little soft, and the mango mochi was tasty and reminiscent of ice cream-​filled mango mochi.
Based on the sizes of the snow and topping portions, I would venture that they are a little overpriced. You can get a free small snow after you buy 9 (make sure to get their business card and have it stamped on the back), but that sort of incentive is standard as far as I’ve seen.
UPDATE (⁶⁄₂₃): A far, far superior competitor just opened up across the street in the Paloma plaza. Based on this, I have to scale my rating down to 3 stars and my recommendation to giving Snow Lounge a try either just to know it or just on Mondays (the one day of the week that the competitor is closed).

Came here on a hot evening and was pleasantly surprised! Snow Lounge is located in the same plaza as the Safeway, which personally I think is lacking trendy stores. However, with the new addition of a shaved ice store (plus the 8Elements next door), I believe «everything’s comin’ up Millhouse!»
The boy and I ordered:
Small taro shave ice with blueberry mochi and condensed milk ~$ 3.50
Medium green tea shave ice with blueberry and strawberry mochi, and condensed milk ~$ 5.50
Both of our concoctions were really yummy. It is quite expensive, though. If I think about it too much, shave ice is basically flavored frozen water that’s literally shaved to give it a smooth texture.
I do have to say that service here is pretty great. Both girls who assisted us were friendly and helpful. One of them forgot to charge for my small snow, but we let her know and she happily took off the charge for an extra topping we had. Nice. Still expensive though lol
Would def come back considering the hellfire heat SJ has been getting from Mother Earth.

Occasionally, I will have a craving for shaved snow. What is shaved snow? It’s the marriage between shaved ice + ice-​cream and it’s pretty awesome. There are a handful of shaved snow shops down in SoCal and not too many in San Jose. However, Snow Lounge has finally opened and it’s not too far from my house!
I came today with my friend around 3PM and it wasn’t busy at all. We each ordered a small green tea snow and it was around $ 3, I believe. A small comes with 1 free topping (I chose strawberry mochi), a medium comes with 2, and there’s an additional charge if you want syrup/​condensed milk drizzled on top (worth it). Don’t forget to ask for a stamp card when you pay!
They have a wide range of snow flavors. Next time, I’ll try guava! But I was very satisfied with my choice. The green tea tasted true to flavor and a small is more than enough for one person! The snow was so light and fluffy. Service here was fast. They finished our orders right when we finished paying. This location is rather small and tight though – there’s only 2 tables…
Aside from shaved snow, they offer macarons as well but I thought they were priced steeply so I’ll pass on that. Overall, the 4 stars is incredibly well deserved! I’ll definitely be back when I’m looking for some snow in the summer.
