SM Value Appliance Repair

I call to SM Value Inc. and scheduled an appointment with Sergey next day. He was honest and professional. He has cleaned my dishwasher and looked my refrigerator ice maker was broke. He checked model number and left. Than hour later he came with new ice maker installed just for 20 min. I thought price will be hire than he charged me. I’m so happy with his service he is really knowledgeable.

Sergy at SM Value is very knowledgable and I trust him with any and all of my appliances. He has come out on numerous occasions and I have always been happy with his work. He has fixed everything from my washer and dryer to my refrigerator and ice maker. He always tells me what he is doing and doesn’t waste my time and money. He gives me a service window I can work with and will call me before his actual arrival. He is honest and a good person who you can trust. He gives me his pricing straight up so there is no surprises. I would highly recommend SM value to anyone who needed appliances repaired.

I called SM Value and spoke to Sergey. He immediately told me what the problem was with our Thermador gas range. He arrived at our house in the afternoon and installed the part. Our GE Profile refrigerator/​freezer has been getting too warm intermittently for 3 months. Defrosting it would get it working again. This week it was 10 degrees too warm, so we called SM Value last night at 8pm for an 11am appointment this morning. When I checked the freezer before he arrived, it was at the proper temperature (measured by a freezer mercury thermometer).
The technician, Sergey the assistant, showed up 10 min. early :-) checked it out, felt the air stream, opened up the circuit panel (in the rear), measured the voltages and 4 thermistors and found everything working properly. He said it could be due to an intermittent control circuit failure — replacing the circuit board and thermistors would cost $ 375. We passed, and will wait until it really fails.
The cost was $ 50. I offered a $ 10 tip for being so professional, which he refused because he hadn’t fixed anything. I asked him to give it to his kids and he still refused.
He was here an hour and 20 mins.
I’m very satisfied with how cordial and caring he was.

Washer machine broke, so I Unilocaled a few people out. Sergy called me back and was able to see us on a Sunday. It cost $ 50 to come out and look at our washer & he would charge for parts/​labor. He showed up promptly and washer was fixed, we paid him $ 125. He indicated that his work was good for 90 days, and that if we had any problems then we could call him and he would come out again.
By the following Friday the washer wasn’t working again, I called & waited patiently. He set up an appointment with me on Monday and was a no show, I called again and an appointment for Tuesday was made and again he was a no show. It was clear to us that he wasn’t going to come back and that basically we paid $ 125 to wash clothes for 5 days… Went to Lowes and bought a new washer machine, wish I would have done that in the first place.

Sergey was professional, explained the job thoroughly, and stuck to his original quote. My LG dryer needed a new thermostat because it was not generating any heat. I also needed to replace the exhaust tube. The part took a while to arrive so he temporarily reset the dryer so we could use it. He did not charge me for that service call. When he finally came back to install the part, the total for repair was $ 245 including parts. Everything works perfect now. Thanks Sergey!

SM Value was awesome when I tried to get my washing machine fixed last August. Prompt, honest, and easy. However, when the fix failed 3 weeks later, it has been just about impossible to get a hold of somebody to come back out and fix it. Calls are not returned. I finally got somebody on the line last week and scheduled an appointment (after — quite literally — more than 10 unreturned calls). He didn’t show up yesterday though. No explanation, and of course no answered or returned calls. I’m very frustrated.

We were at home on Thursday night and smelled plastic burning. I cleaned the coils which were coated with 1″ of dust, much to late. We had to pull coolers out to keep food from spoiling as the freezer and fridge did not work. I called 4 services including SM Value. All were not able to make it out until Monday except SM Value and one other service. I was quoted $ 69 service call and $ 225 parts and labor for the repair from the other service. Sergy quoted $ 29 service call and 129 parts and service. Since the cost was significantly different I was somewhat apprehensive. All of my concerns were relieved after talking with Sergy and watching him work. He was extremely efficient in both diagnosing, but also in replacement of the failed compressor startup relay. He was also very good at explaining in detail what the issue was and how he would fix it.
He also shared some knowledge about maintaining my washer and dryer to prevent future failures.
I will call Sergy next time I have any appliance failure. I can be confident he will give me the best price the first time he quotes the job.

I came home recently and noticed the refrigerator side of my Jenn-​Air side-​by-​side was not cooling well while the freezer side was working fine. I found a temperature gauge in the drawer and left it in the refrigerator side for a few hours. Hmm…60 degrees is not very cold for a refrigerator! So, I pretty much emptied out everything that was perishable and called SM Value Appliance Repair and spoke with Sergey, the owner. On the phone he mentions he charges $ 30 for the service call, but will be refunded if he performs the service. To me that sounded fair, so I scheduled an appointment with him for the following day. He gave me a 3-​hour window that he would arrive. Fortunately he arrived at almost the beginning of the 3-​hour window. Within 2 minutes of him arriving he diagnosis the problem as a bad defroster circuit board. The cost for the repair is $ 275 including parts and labor, which I thought was kind of steep, then knocks $ 25 off for me being a first-​time customer. Not wanting to go through the hassles of getting another estimate I authorize the repair. He had the circuit board in his truck and starts emptying the freezer side to get to the electronics. He disassembles the interior back panel and exposes the «guts» of the refrigerator-​freezer and starts de-​thawing the coils. Within 45 minutes he has the new circuit board installed and is cleaning up. Upon paying he offers me a cash discount of another $ 25 off, making my total $ 225, which I accept. Overall, I am satisfied with Sergey’s service, though his price seemed a bit high (in my opinion), but he did a very professional job.

Extremely responsive and dependable. Sergey explains what he is doing and works quickly. I’m a fan.

Wonderful, prompt, reasonably priced service. I brought out a refrigerator which my parents had had in storage for 10 years. It looked great and worked fine, for about 2 months. With my luck, I had just made a Costco run and had filled up on meat and frozen goods. I found SM Value in the phone book and he came within the hour and had me up and running within 35 minutes. The cost was a lot less than the groceries I had just bought. I was afraid that I would have to buy a new fridge but didn’t have to. While he was here, Sergey also fixed my gas stove, whch had a bad burner. Great service and a great value.
