History

Established in 1989.

Safety Training Seminars has been providing BLS, CPR, ACLS, and first-​aid classes in San Francisco since 1989 and we are happy to open our new office in San Jose to better serve our South Bay Clients. Besides San Jose, we are also able to offer American Heart Association CPR training classes in these cities in San Mateo county: San Mateo County, Atherton, Belmont, Brisbane, Burlingame, Colma, Daly City, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Hillsborough, Menlo Park, Millbrae, Pacifica, Portola Valley, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Carlos, San Mateo, South San Francisco, and, Woodside.

San Jose CPR Certification is an official American Heart Association CPR & First-​aid Training Center and our license is California: 20 784. This means the certification cards are issued at the end of the training course.

Bianca was a great instructor, keeping class lively and paced well, with sufficient practice, including multiple scenarios to consider. She added a personal note here and there which helped bring a nice perspective. This class was much more in dept than other first aid classes I’ve had before (practice epi-​pens, environmental issues like poison, animal bites, heat stroke, hypothermia). The first aid portion was mostly video and not quite as engaging as the first part of class where there was more to practice. Hearing her thoughts on ‘in the field’ work as it differed somewhat from the standard video knowledge was useful. Previous CPR classes I’ve taken have not included AED and I believe the information on choking was also much more thorough than I recall. Overall very well done, and I’m happy to have taken the class.

Bianca was a great teacher! The class was not nearly as bad as I thought. I already had a Red Cross certification, but needed an AHA one for my school. So I figured, rip the band-​aid off, just go spend 3 hours watching safety videos… but it was actually very engaging. Bianca makes it informative and enjoyable. Thank you!

I enjoyed Bianca’s dynamism, energy, and her efficient way of teaching! We were able to practice CPR/​AED on dummies several times, which is great for somatic learners, like myself! Before, I had taken the online course, which pales in comparison to a live class. The dense information was communicated in an engaging way that caters to the variety of «learners» out there (kinesthetic, audio, visual).
I feel confident about properly handling emergency situations after taking that class! I will definitely come again!

I’ve been wanting to get CPR/​first aid certified for some time now and jumped at be opportunity when there was a Groupon for it– American Heart Association certified, valid for two years before you need to renew.
TJ did a fantastic job teaching the course. He’s an EMT (side note– I have this thing for EMTs. I think they’re all pretty good looking, which he was) but aside from that and his fun, dorky personality (there’s always something likable about a person wearing a Captain America shirt because frankly, superheroes are cool, duh!) he was very passionate about teaching the course and making sure we learned everything thoroughly and properly. I admire the knowledge, dedication, passion, and desire to help people he and others in his field have. Y’all are awesome. :) Anyways, I was hesitant about it being a five hour class just because sitting anywhere for a long length of time bores me but a majority of it is hands-​on (CPR, of course. First aid portion, not so much) so you’re always doing something and the jokes/​side comments TJ makes during some portions of the video clips are entertaining.
Thank you so much for everything! I’m super excited about my certification and am confident about stepping into action if there is ever an emergency. Would highly recommend! :D

Nina was an awesome instructor. She made sure that what could have been a long serious session, was a fun activity. She was very informative and answered questions clearly. I had enough time to practice what was told. The only concern that i had was there were too many people for the class (it was a Sunday noon after all).
I took the AHA’s CPR/​AED/​First Aid class and I am now certified in the same. I highly recommend Nina and Bianca.

Both bring years of EMT and Paramedic experience to the class, which enhance and adds further confidence to the students’ learning and certification process. I took the 5:00pm CPR/​AED class last Wednesday with Tyler and Rasheed. I had to use CPR on my friend this past weekend up in Tahoe. Luckily, I knew exactly what to do because of this comprehensive class.
You know you’ve had good training when you don’t hesitate and know what you need to do. I highly recommend this class for anyone looking.

Came here for the American Heart Association’s CPR /​AED/​First Aid Course. The course was very informative on all of those topics and the instructor, Rasheed, was great! He clearly had authority on the subjects and had some fantastic stories and tips to help make the class awesome. Everyone should go get some training here — you never know when you might be able to save a life!
ps. There are sometimes deals on Living Social, etc. for these classes… which can help save you some $$$.

I attended last Saturday.
9AM class.
It was a good experience. Not as rigid as the red cross classes.
Only downside was that at 9AM no instructor was present. He/​she was in an accident. A replacement instructor came in at 930AM. Impressive for short notice.
Was in and out fairly quickly.

From scheduling the class to actually being active in the class, everything was great!
You can schedule online and can cancel or reschedule your class whenever time suits you. I love that you just pay for the course on the day of the class.
It’s a 3 hour class but Rasheed made our BLS class fly by. He definitely knew what he was talking about and let us do lots of hands-​on practice. A definite plus was that he’s humorous so upon coming in after lunch, it didn’t feel so bad.
At the end, there’s a short multiple choice exam and you receive your certificate.
Everything was easy and I will be back here to renew in 2 years
