San Jose Batting Cages & Baseball Academy

Me and my friend went on a Saturday around 4pm. There was only about 7 other people there with us. It was our first time. The guy brought us to the cages and showed us how things worked. I gave them four stars cause the helmets are only cleaned once a week.

This league has terrific goals. Not only do you get to play around a terrific coaching staff and great group of guys, but you get plenty of playing time. Great coaching and just an overall great league.
This organization allows you to improve all of your baseball abilities and improve your skill set, while having an awesome time.
If you, or your son is looking for a league where he can improve his baseball abilities and have a fantastic time playing baseball, then this is the league for that.
You will not be disappointed! At the very least, you get some swings in and have a great time!

Our son is a freshmen on the JV baseball team at Pioneer High School. He has been getting private batting and pitching lessons from Coach D and SJBC over the last few years.
Coach D and the other coaches really know baseball and help each athlete with specific training needs! The staff at the cages are extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommend SJBC for batting cages and lessons!

SJ batting cages is the best place I have been to for baseball training, great service & reasonable prices. I have been a baseball manager/​coach for years and this is the place where I take my 2 boys (12 & 15) as well as recommend SJ batting cages to all the players for the teams I coached. My older kid played on the Santa Teresa high school baseball team Spring 2016 & currently plays on the Saints travel ball team, and he loves going to the SJ batting cages around 2 to 3 times a week… great place!

My son has just finished little league, at the beginning of the year he was lacking in hitting/​confidence but finished the year one of the best in AA. A few lessons from coach Cisco did the trick. He was really active with my son, knew what he was doing and helped him change his hitting a lot!!!

The cages are great for someone who hates to wait my 8u girl just swings away the place in well lit and clean. When there is an issue they resolve it quickly in a moments notice. we will be returning over and over.

Had some initial customer service issues HOWEVER, the owner, Mike addressed the issues and said he would speak with the employee. Mike stated they take customer service extremely serious and just the fact that he reached out to me spoke volumes.

My son Harrison just finished his first year of JV baseball. Him making the team is a testament to the quality of coaching and organization at SJ Saints /​Batting Cages. Great job Coach Troy and Mike Mak!

Just started homeschool PE class here and the kids absolutely love it. My kids are very fussy when it comes to classes, but without fail, every week that they have been so far, they come back with raving reviews about how awesome it was. They get to play all sorts of sports like hockey, dodgeball, soccer etc. and they love that it is their choice as to what is played. I love that they come out of the class with rosy cheeks from lots of exercise and a happy smile. Highly recommend the homeschool PE classes — currently Mondays and Fridays 2−3pm.

My 15 year old son decided not to try out for his high school baseball team so we were looking for a team for Spring. This is an untapped area and we were disappointed to find there were no travel ball or other teams available until high school baseball was finished for the season.
Mike put together a couple of teams of kids seeking to play and it has been a blast! Great group of kids aged 15 — 18 leave it all on the field every week. They are all experienced players who don’t need much coaching. Families are awesome as well and the level of competition is high.
We are hoping that this will be an annual option as there are a lot of boys out there who either don’t make their team, don’t want to try out or don’t make grades. We are grateful to Mike for putting this together!

We had our sons 7^th birthday party at SJ batting cages and had a great time. The group was very organized, safe and involved all of the kids. Mike was easy to work with accomodating for our requests. We will definifely be coming back for some batting practice.

The owner is very friendly! The price is great and it is a lot of fun. Overall, a great experience — I’d recommend this place to all.

We’ve have two birthday parties here (for a large group of adults, early 30s) this year and had a wonderful experience both times. Mike, the owner, is very responsive and super helpful. He treats you like an old friend (even though we’ve yet to meet in person).
We’ve done 1) batting cages (during regular business hours) and 2) bubble soccer (after business hours). I’d highly recommend both. Batting cages are self-​explanatory, but bubble soccer is such a unique experience! We had a group of 16 people and ended up using 8 bubbles in each game (4 on 4). This was perfect for us old geezers since we could take breaks and watch a game while we caught our breath. Each game is about 5 – 6 minutes long (trust me, it feels a lot longer when you’re in the game) and we played about 6 games total (just enough game time to make you sore for 3 days!).
Would definitely do it again and will definitely recommend to others!

I’m from SF and when I was introduced to come here to bring my son to practice hitting. This place is like no other but I have been to. There are multiple batting cages, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Since it is a rainy day today I had the option of going to a couple of batting cages closer to my home but now I am here and all I can say is that this is worth the drive if you haven’t yet come to this location I suggest you come because you won’t be disappointed. I wish they would open up a venue in San Francisco.

Our daughter love it here, every week she gets better and faster. Thus place is our new Sunday stop

1. Just been kicked out of line for a reservation. My kid just helped the last two kids pick up the balls and was waiting his turn. The attendant came up and put a Reserved sign on the cage and told us to leave. Didn’t even give the 2 kids in line a chance, and was rude about it.
2. The 2 other lanes were also reserved.
3. No room to stand and watch your kid. Too many people crowded into a small place.
4. Not in a convenient location
5. You have to load the machines yourself
I coach LL and won’t come back or recommend it to anyone else.
Response to Mike: No! The employee did not give 15 min warning to those waiting for the machine. He also did not let us know about another cage (slower) coming open. More importantly, there’s no excuse for rude.

I’ve been coming to this location for about two years and I’m honestly sick of the joint. The only reason this post gets a star is because it actually works as a batting cage. You can go there and hit the ball. Great. That is what you’re supposed to do there right? And you can’t give a 0 star review.
I would just appreciate it if the staff had the ability to communicate beyond their normal grunts. The younger employee who works the register/​front desk is the most unsociable person I’ve met in my life. If you ask this kid how his day is going, trying to be a friendly customer, and he’ll respond with a shrug. This kid would rather be sitting at home on his moms couch because clearly he no interest in the sport of baseball which I believe would be very strange considering this facility is dedicated to «developing the fundamentals» of young baseball players.
The older guy that helps out there is a sour dude too. Just super confrontational and unnecessarily aggressive. I’ve been seeing these guys shenanigans for 2 years and I honestly don’t think I’ve experienced worse customer service than I experience here.
Awhile back, I bought one of their frequent hitter cards which gives you a small deal on the amount of money you spend per balls etc. When the new management came around, they said the cards were invalid and modified them so that there were less opportunities to hit. Out of ten total punches, we had 6 total. Pretty foul way to run a business as far as I see.
To finish off, half the time machines don’t work. Tokens aren’t compensated for pitching machine failure. Place is super dark. Unfriendly. Terrible employees. The community equipment is old. Helmets are never cleaned.
Once the rest of my punches on that card are gone, I will never go there again.

Haven’t been back in the bay for several months and didn’t realize Charlie Rose had closed down (such sadness). Anyhow, I had a token card with 9 tokens left on it still and they redirected me here.
Small indoor cages from 45 – 65 mph pitches and then softball cages.

We live in an area with many camps and a plethora of choices. We’ve done different sports camps geared towards the beginner to the advanced player. This week, I signed my kids up for baseball and softball camp. My son is an experienced baseball player, playing little league and a travel team for a number of years. My daughter, on the other hand, has never played softball but wanted to try it out. After searching through the different summer camps around, I found San Jose Batting Cages. It seemed to fit our needs.
For a camp like this, I turned to my kids to gauge their camp experience. I am, for the most part, only there for drop off and pick up. My kids had an amazing time. They enjoyed their coaches, who happen to be professional coaches, coaching high school baseball and softball teams during the regular school year; not college kids back for the summer working their summer time job. My kids received one on one training on a regular basis. The immediate feedback was noticeable on the second day when I arrived early to pick up the kids. I noticed my daughter was able to hit the balls from the coach that pitched to her! My son also benefitted from the immediate feedback. He told me that the technical skills have helped his game.
The camp is a noncompetitive, skills based camp. The coaches are positive and supportive. My kids spoke highly and positively about their experiences. Mike, the owner, greeted us each time he saw us. After speaking to my kids about the camp, I can confidently recommend the camp to anyone looking for a sports camp for their kids.
