San Jose Airport Garden Hotel

Only giving one star because I can’t give 0, which is what this place deserves.
For over $ 300/​nt absolutely disgusting room. We were in building 8, of course we had a beautiful view of the dumpsters and got to listen to the carts drive back and forth every few minutes and of course we got to listen to the guys hang out there and talk.
Dining — the binder in the room says ‘restaurant’ opens at 4pm, the website said 5:30, so I call the front desk and was told 4:00. So we go up to eat and were very rudely told that the signs all say 5:30, I believe her exact words were ‘it’s posted 5:30 everywhere so I don’t know why you think we open at 4!!‘
The room was a electrical nightmare! Plug covers barely hanging on, light in bathroom didn’t work, the cable to the TV was literally hanging off the wall.
We actually didn’t use the shower because it was nasty! The toilet barely flushed. The ‘desk’ looked beat to hell-​guess they’ve never hear of furniture oil.
The grounds were beautiful, but that’s the only part of this establishment that is even half way decent.
This will be the one and only time I waste over $ 300 on this roach motel!!!

It sucks that this hotel will be closing it’s doors soon. The grounds are absolutely beautiful.
The rooms are dated, but still tasteful and clean. I’ve stated here twice and made good memories on each visit, once with my mom and a friend while they attended an event and the most recent time, while in transition.
The room was very clean and had two bottles of water upon check-​in, which is wonderful because the process of getting to and settled in your room leaves you parched. There was nothing else remarkable, except that it was clean.
Best thing was the patio facing the garden, very good for the guest who needs convenience and proximity in the heart of Silicon Valley, but serenity at the end of their day.
The amenities offered by the hotel may be far from your room since the property is huge may be a drawback and there are often many little parties going on during weekend nights.

My bad… i misplaced my receipt/​folio and needed it in order to complete my expense report. I called on Wednesday and followed the prompts (5) to get to accounting and got a greeting stating if I needed a folio just leave the dates, phone #, and email address where they can send it. Nothing on Wednesday… called again on Thursday and, you guessed it, the same recording. I left the info again… it is now Friday night and still no response! Why do they say they will on their (and I must say unprofessional) greeting then not follow through?
I will not be staying there again… not with that level of service!!!

The only good thing I can say about this place is that it didn’t burn down while we were there. I’m assuming it was a very nice place in 1957… well maybe not !

For $ 204.00 a night is a rip off. I should of just stayed at a Motel 6 and could of saved $ 150. So many stains, furniture is so old and falling apart, the hallways look dirty, and it smells. This is definitely not work 50.00 a night. The photos online are deceiving. I’m just going to check reviews next time.

Only book if it’s your only option rooms suck old tube television and bad smell eww hope I don’t smell like my hotel room in the morning wish I could only give a half star and that’s because the rooms have balconies

Found this spider on our bed ! Disgusting !!! Never again will I stay at this place. Especially for the price of $ 279 a night, not worth it. Not a friendly service counter here. Ohhh and looking for a ice machine was outrageous! There was none in our building so I was told to walk to the other building for ice machine. The only positive I can give is the bell guys and the restaurant. The server was great as well as the bartender. They’re were only 2 people on staff at the restaurant but held their own. 4 stars for the restaurant but sorry to say only 1 star for the hotel.

I booked this hotel via Expedia as part of their hidden price campaign. Basically you sign up for a discounted room at an undisclosed hotel only knowing the region it is located. Hotel was advertised as three stars.
One of the first things I noticed when I walked into the lobby was that it smelled a little funky. I was worried my room may also smell. I then found out there are multiple buildings and my building is around back. I didn’t know this and had to carry my luggage back out to my car and move to the back of the building.
On the way back there I noticed three things:
1. The grounds are pretty well kept. Lots of nice landscaping, pleasant area.
2. The area wasn’t very well lit and was a little creepy at night. There were some a couple portable lights (that weren’t on) attached to multiple security cameras staggered throughout the parking lot. I assume they had some issues in the past.
3. There were a ton of feral cats running around.
Once inside my room I turn on the entry light and see a mini light on the wall inside the room. I walk over to turn it on, it doesn’t turn on. Great. Stumble to the lamps next to the bed, they turn on. Good, let’s assess the situation.
First thing I notice is the TV is high in the air built into the wall itself on the wall next to the bed. It’s an old ~19−20″ Panasonic CRT TV and the left 3 inches cut off from being inside the wall. Schucks. The AC unit is pretty old, but seems to work, albeit slightly loud with the compressor kicked in. My neighbors are running their water which I can hear like there’s a loud concert of flowing water through pipes inside my room. Interesting, I guess this adds character.
I then turn to the bathroom. It’s not bad, except the toilet keeps running after flushes. So I have to open the lid to fix the chain or jiggle the handle. The tub fills with water and the pressure starts off low and slowly picks up to medium. Not sure how that’s even possible.
The wall art looks like it was picked up from an estate or yard sale. It doesn’t seem to have a theme and the frames all look like they were in WWII.
The internet speed leaves a lot to be desired. Currently have excellent reception to an access point, however, during prime hours I’m only getting ~250 Kbps down and 5 Kbps up according to speed tests to two different servers. This means you will have trouble streaming videos late at night.
Not a fan thus far, but it was a fairly cheap option compared to a lot of the other hotels in the area with the Expedia discount. I guess you get what you pay for.

Old hotel. Cheapest prices in town and still very expensive, but alas… it *is* San Jose. They can afford to upgrade their in-​room TV sets. My room had one that was at least 15 years old. Terrible picture, too.
It was old but clean, I’ll say that.

Not the best hotel room with tired/​old looking furniture, and a hall way sprayed with unpleasantly strong perfume air freshener (Building 6). But hey it’s super close to the San Jose airport, has complementary airport shuttles, and you can park here more cheaply than other long-​term parking (with any night stay).
Airport shuttle service starts at 4:30a and runs about every 30min. For arrival at the airport, just call the hotel and the airport shuttle will get to pretty quickly. The drivers are nice and helpful.
Worked for us with early morning flight and 2 child car seats! But I definitely won’t be staying just for the hotel.

Epic FAIL!!! This is, by far, the nastiest, smelliest and most disgusting hotel I’ve come across. I changed rooms three times in as many days only to be placed in a room that’d been kept as a mausoleum since the last nasty guest moved out in 1987. In his honor, the loo was rimmed with his urine, his toenail clippings peppered the carpet, and strands of his woman’s hair were on the bed linens, carpet and bath towels. He liked M&M’s, ate fried chicken, and some other type of candy as they were all around the carpet in the room. The loo was too disgusting and smelly to speak of, and housekeeping simply re-​hung the days towels as opposed to cleaning the place. That’s right, no fresh sheets, made beds, new towels, clean sinks, loo’s, vacuumed floors — NOTHING!!!
From reading other reviews I’m thankful I wasn’t bitten by bugs!
There are many other options, EXERCISE them! STAY AWAY!!!

This is a hotel that Hotwire likes to pretend is three stars. Um, sure.
They do not even have a functional e-​mail address or person who responds to telephone calls in a timely manner. I recently booked a reservation through Hotwire, needed to alter it (which Hotwire pretty much will never do unless the hotel itself signs off), and then it was radio silence from the hotel despite multiple attempts at contact. Their e-​mail address bounces back and no one returned my call. So they got to pocket a hefty fee for a room no one used.
Awesome. I’ll absolutely never book your property again.

This older hotel sits right on the corner on N 1^st and Matrix Blvd. Arrived around 1:30pm and asked if I could check in but no rooms were available. So I took a seat and actually watch people arrive and checked in hmmm? My room was already paid for and staff at front desk with the brush off. I went back up to ask the guy again and he replied «oh yes we have a room now». I was placed at a back building where it looked deserted kinda creepy. Walked in the room and air con was on High but smelled old and moldy. The room telephone did Not work, bath tub tiles had streaks and rooms do not have microwave or fridge. I rented a fridge for $ 10
…sorry but I did not have a comfortable night.
Woke up the next morning and noticed someone sat on my patio chair with a cup full of cig buds Geez.
They do have free wifi in room but goes in and out.

Also have a coffee shop attached to lobby and Hertz car rental in the front.

I’m not sure why this hotel has such bad reviews. Definitely a hidden jem.
Staff was very friendly.
Room was immaculate.
The property is very pleasant and quiet.
Rooms have sliding doors and a nice sitting area.
Pool was perfect!
The VTA is right across the street.
There’s a gas station, Starbucks, pizza, Chinese, and a liquor store all in walking distance.

Sure it was nowhere to write home about but it was also not worthy of being drug through the mud. At any rate, thanks to all the sh*t talkers, my expectations were unusually low which probably made my experience better and for that, I thank you.
Check in was quick and simple (room was reserved ahead of time via
), the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was located at the far back end of the property and based on pictures that people are posting, we were staying in the oldest rooms available so it was pretty dated but who cares? Not us, it was a comfortable bed, it was clean enough, with two complimentary waters and noise wasn’t an issue –with the exception of our patio door facing the light rail loading area. While light rail was running you could hear the automated voice making announcements. Again, no big deal.
I’m about 99% sure that we were there for the same event as the reviewer who slammed the hotel below (yesterday) and we stumbled upon the same thing at arrival, about 100 people waiting in line. We ended up just confirming that we could check in after the show. Our belongings went back into the trunk and off we went to party. Everyone in line was partying, drinking and seemingly having a good time. It was fun just being around them all, even if it wasn’t for long.
The next morning we had breakfast in the restaurant, ordered the California Omelete and added french toast. The service was friendly, the food was good and the coffee was constantly flowing. If we have any other events to attend at Levi, this is where we will stay.

I’m shaking my head as I’m writing this review.…This place is just a NO NO!!! I was staying here for a business trip so the location was not my choice.

*Work out center was a joke with broken treadmills and an elliptical with one broken arm and squeaked like it was dying
*Both the tub/​shower and sink failed to drain
*No fan in the bathroom
*Staff partially cleaned the room…Can you make the bed please?
*Wi-​Fi sucked, and my Sprint service did not work (It was like I was in a hole)
*Random stray cats have taken over the grounds
*Bar was fully stocked with NADA
*Parking sucked

I have been going to this hotel often on for a few years. but did not stay last year due to being hospitalized…
I live close to this hotel, and go there to get away from my roommates on occasion. on this occasion I was going to attend, the blues festival on Saturday he 20^th. So we book the room for June 19 2015 an outrageous amount… And completely found this place really dirty, and the amenities were crap! when I opened up the guest services book to order room service, so was the information for WiFi. I tried calling the front desk several times and was on hold for over 15 minutes each time. so we ended up to the restaurant, and they only serve bar food. the food was good. but everything else was an absolute joke! I have pictures and I’m hoping I can post them of the ceilings warping, there was one cook and one bartender and half the restaurant was full. well I guess its not a restaurant anymore now its just a bar. I wouldn’t go back there, I’ll just have to find another local place for «me» time.

So I booked this room on hotwire for a total of two nights. The price was right and I was just looking for a place to sleep after a day at Great America. I have previously stayed at hotels such as the Sheraton and Hyatt, and was not expecting much. We arrived late, around 11:30. Check in was short and simple, front desk staff was friendly. We were put in a room with two beds in building six. We were able to find a parking spot conveniently located right in front of our window. Our room was on the second floor. The room itself was dated, yet clean. There was an old school tv, small coffee maker, shampoo, desk area, etc. The bed was comfy so no complaint there. The first night was very quiet. The second we had a bunch of people yelling and stomping around. Super annoying, but I still fell asleep. The tv only had a few working stations. Not a big deal, I didn’t check in to watch tv. The pool was really impressive! The grounds are pretty, as well and make for a nice walk. The fitness center is tiny, but does its job. No microwave or mini fridge. I checked ahead of time and packed a cooler bag with drinks. They do have a restaurant on sight, as well as several vending machines.

Despite the odd name, it’s a historic and truly incredible property with old trees and many lovely sights. The pool is gorgeous. There’s also a Ballroom, fitness room, gazebo and beautiful grounds with fountains, sculptures and rose gardens.
Giving this place five stars, though it should be 4.5 stars because I don’t feel like it’s gotten a fair shake here on Unilocal.Some time back, there was water damage to the hotel, and that surely caused a huge problem. However, if you request a renovated room you will be sure to have comfortable and clean accommodations.
I’ve slept so well and felt quite safe here, as a solo lady traveler.
In addition to several cool places to hang out (or have business meetings), there’s an on-​site restaurant and bar (with bar food, which is why I would have subtracted that half-​star), but they accommodated me and prepared a side of grilled veggies for me; super sweet! I liked the bartender and waiter very much, as well as the manager, the 2 front desk people I spoke with and the bell hops.
I’m sad this place is slated to close this November and hope to return with my husband before then.
Everyone here is very nice, and the property is simply beautiful. Give it a try!
Oh and despite another reviewer’s experience, I didn’t find it «Bates» motel like, just a little surreal (not quite David Lynch– though!)

A weird hotel who’s quirkiness is dominated by the generally poor amenities.
I reserved my hotel room way too late for a business trip and wound up staying here. I will not make that mistake again. The two biggest complaints were:
1.) There was basically never any parking resulting my having to drive around for 10+ minutes in their sprawling lot late a night to find a space far from everything.
2.) The Wi-​Fi was either down on not working.
Otherwise there were lots of little complaints that also added up. There was no hand towel in my room. The heat was set to be off, which was fine during the day, but resulted in my being freezing in the middle of the night. The door handle to my room was kind of broken and sat at 45 degree angle instead of horizontal, which made it hard to get the keycard to work.
Breakfast was just OK and I’d argue not any better than you’d get from a Holiday Inn Express hot buffet.
