Business Owner

Dave is the founder of Impact Training and is a top trainer in all of the bay area. He has worked with countless athletes and taken them pro. He specializes in sports nutrition, strength and cardiovascular training, sport-​specific training, training of the elderly as well as the youth. NASM Certified.

Pal has a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Science from SJSU and is an ISSA Certified personal trainer. His knowledge of supplements and nutrition can help any individual reach his/​her goals.

Probably not going back to GNC after finding this place. Not only do they have my favorite brand of nutritional supplements, but any information I may need to ask is always answered in full detail. The guys working here gave me some great advice on refining my workout routine. Since I can’t afford a personal trainer it’s nice to have some knowledgeable minds around to pick every now and then.
I took off one star because it’s slightly on the pricey side. Most of the time I order my nutritional supplements online because of course that’s the cheapest option, but it’s nice to now have a storefront to fall back on when I need it. Will no doubt be returning here again.

Here is a supplements store that wants to help everyone. I’m over 50yo and I always feel welcome when I come in. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They are happy to take time to explain their products and what options are available to for what you need. I am daily using many of their products and come back again and again when I need more. Make sure to get a body analysis while your there and then come back regularly to see how you progressing. Supplements, vitamins, ready made meals, even work out gear… great stuff!

I’ve been working out at gold’s on Bernal for a good 10 years now. Semi gym rat minus the six pack. I’ve usually picked up my supplement anywhere but recently I was invited to the Grand re-​opening of Nutrishop on Bernal and I finally saw owners that were in the business and lifestyle. So it was nice to talk to someone who knew what they were talking about and was in better shape then me. Rather then a dude who is overweight and eating a burger while showing me protein supps. I can say I walked out with what was right for me and not the most expensive product on the shelf. I spoke with Pal and would recommend his shop to all. I have since been back for some work out gear and to have my body fat percentage checked and it seems like Pal is usually there.
Please keep in mind supplements don’t do anything without the proper diet and workout routine. Notice I’m not saying I lost 10pounds or gained 5 pounds of muscle. Just that I got great advice specifically geared towards me.

I visited the NutriShop in south San Jose off Bernal Rd last week. Pal, the store owner, was very helpful in the process of picking out the correct supplements for what I was trying to accomplish. The man was completely honest with me and didn’t try to oversell me on things that I wouldn’t necessarily need for my goal. Many other vitamin and nutrition shops try to get you to buy a bunch of stuff that you really won’t need for what you’re trying to accomplish. However Pal did not and that made me feel very comfortable with the whole transaction and shopping experience at this new NutriShop. I would recommend Pal at this exact shop to anyone who is looking to improve their health in relation to weight loss and muscle gain.

Working in the tech industry has left me with some very bad habits. I am starting to work out and getting into healthier habits, so on a recent business trip to the bay area I came across NutriShop and decided to stop in. After speaking to the owner Pal and explaining my goals and work habits he recommended a few supplements and dietary changes and asked me to follow-​up with him if I had any questions.
After getting back to LA, I called the store and asked to speak to Pal, after explaining my progress he gladly answered my questions. His customer service and knowledge is the only reason I’m writing a review. I highly recommend them and will give them y business again the next time I am in the bay area.

Unprofessional shop! Seems more of social gathering than a business. Kids sitting around shop taking pictures, running around the shopping center as if they owned it. The products are the worse. Max Muscle off of Blossom Hill or Meridian down the street is the place to go! I am a LONG time Gold’s Gym member (15+ years), and Bernal neighborhood member, and this is probably one of the worse store decisions in the shopping center.

Nutrishop is the best place for supplements! Not only are they knowledgable and know what they are talking about, they give you tips and advice on how to use their products. After going thru nutrishop I wouldn’t go back to any of the other supplement stores.

Worst place to shop for supplements. I have been working out for 18 years now and have taken supplements religiously for majority of that time. The salespeople are just that «sales people». They have no knowledge of each actual product and only try to push what I later came to find out is their own store brand which they make higher margins selling than other products they carry. They basically do a bait and switch. You go in for one product and they will do anything to talk you out of buying that product including talking major crap verging on defamation and slander about the other supplement line. They don’t know any science behind any of the supplements, they can’t even justify why they are talking negatively they just regurgitate something that either the store owner or corporate has told them. I am a seasoned customer and know my ingredients and do my research so I find it deplorable that they try to dissuade you from buying a better product to buying their inferior quality brand so they make more money. They are not on the best interest of the customer and only care about bottom line. All of the stores I know about are like this but I have had this personal experience at this one and the one in Los Gatos. Stay away from NUTRISWAP and go to max muscle blossom hill or meridian down the street. At least they are honest knowledgeable guys that atually workput and take supplements themselves not like these jerks at nutriswap.

What can I say about Ben at the Nutrishop. For starters he is extremely patient and provides excellent customer service. I’m the type of person who likes to be well informed when making purchases and I ask lots of questions, especially when it came to buying my supplements. Ben was more than helpful and knowledgeable of ALL the products in the store. I visited a couple of other stores before making my purchase and nobody was nearly as attentive. In addition, Ben asked about my fitness goals, and gave me some helpful advise about how and when to take my supplements properly. He also went as far as offering to write out a food and exercise program for me in the event I felt like changing things up. I’d also like to add that he did all this towards the end of the business day, and not once did I feel hurried or pressure to even buy anything. Dealing with Ben was a pleasure and since then I’ve been back to re-​up and will continue to use this shop in the future.

The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They helped me find the products that exactly suited my needs, and even let me try samples so that I knew I was getting right product. Also very convenient if you forgot to pack your preworkout — you can buy single servings! Ben was especially awesome in helping find the right protein and helping with different lifting tips.

Stopped by today to ask about a pre-​workout. I liked that they (forget to ask the guy who helped me his name) didn’t just give me what I wanted but also asked about my workout routine and diet. I walked away with a few samples of protein and some other supplements. I’m not trying to do anything crazy just make sure I’m taking the right things and letting my body recover after workouts. Supplements are hard because everyone seems to have an opinion and it’s almost always different from the next. I found the staff friendly and knowledge and I didn’t feel pressured to buy (which is important to me). I will for sure stop back by if I like any of the samples or have any questions.

The staff was very knowledgable and helpful with anything involving training and diet. So feel free to ask anything training/​diet related. Anthony, the store owner, also spends lots of time constantly learning about new training methods and diets through scientific literature. They’re very polite, and won’t be like the stereotypical meatheads you might run into.
A lot of the supplements here are very difficult to find online, and prices (e.g.
) will be matched. All the staff are just as knowledgable.
He picks out really good supplements, and also gives feedback/​advice on which supplements have been proven to be best absorbed.
They’re very generous and give out free samples, and $ 2.00 a scoop for pre-​/​post-​workout supps. AKA members get a 10% discount. The supplements are high grade, and I’d recommend it to any serious/​competitive athlete. It’s definitely worth it to at least try the samples and see how well they work for your body.

Jazz was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions when it came to supplements, fat burners and even recommendations on detox and restart for my friend who just entered into an NPC competition.
This shop is a little small, but has plenty of goodies. I don’t like the fact that they literally don’t post prices on anything. I feel like it’s a little bit of a bait and switch because they have these proteins and supplements from name brands on the wall, but you find out that they are EXTREMELY overpriced there. Then they offer you their in-​house brand which is Pro7en or Pro5 and of course its significantly cheaper and much better. Of course you’re going to go for the in-​house brand.
I can’t blame the staff, this seems to be their operating model, but I, for one, don’t care for it much. They give you plenty of samples if you ask and they’re very friendly. They will give you the low down on how much it all costs … but like I said in the end you’re better off with their house brands. If you want a designer brand, go online.

Nutrishop San Jose has everything but they won’t have hundreds of different brands for you to compare side-​by-​side like a protein-​tub-​curling newbie.
All-​in-​all, I love this place and the staff is extremely helpful in assisting you if you any questions at all and are well-​versed in their supplement knowledge.
