Mission De La Casa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

I’ve been here plenty of times, it’s almost like home. I was here for both of my grandparents short stay for rehabilitation and this facility has always been great both times. The interior is clean and doesn’t smell bad. The staff here are friendly, caring, and attentive. As soon as a bed alarm goes off, they run straight for it to ensure patients’ safety, which keeps my heart at peace while I’m not there.
They always decorate their facility accordingly depending on the season and holidays, which is nice and festive for the residents. I appreciate the movie nights and activities they offer for their patients as well.
Overall, an excellent facility that I wouldn’t be worried about if my grandparent had to live here one day.

My 96 year old mom was moved to Mission de la Casa on 11÷14÷14 as a Hospice patient. She died today, 3÷13÷15. During her four month stay, she was cared for by loving nurses and CNAs. I have to admit when I first brought her there, I visited almost every day for a month. Once I knew she was cared for, I knew I didn’t need to be there over seeing her care. Today was very sad for the staff as I said good bye. The loved my mom and I loved them for caring. The facility’s lobby was just remodeled to present a welcoming environment. They keep the facility very clean without the spell of you find in some nursing homes. I would recommend them for you loved ones,

What a great celebration at Mission De La Casa today. The staff are so wonderful. The director Phillip Green took us on a tour and it was totally amazing. The place is clean and very organized. The kitchen is really nice. I would bring my family to stay here. Good job to all the staff, and especially to Phillip for doing a great job!!!

I give this review a 1 star because that is the lowest I can give it. Please do not bring your love one to this place. At a glance, it appears nice, clean, spacious, and has a look n’ feel of real home.
Don’t let all that crap fool you. There is a reason why people gave this place a 1 star. This place is full of crappy doctors, management, and nurses.
My family made a very difficult decision to send my dad there to stay at the Alzheimer’s unit. My dad was a kind and gentle man. However, very alert at night with this disease. Instead of helping my dad cope with his night time wandering, they just over drugged him with a sedative medicine (Seroquel). Come to find out later, the doses were 2x his body weight which is very harmful. By doing this, the nurses do not have to deal with him. Our family didn’t know any better but to let the doctors and nurse make the proper medical decisions. WRONG MOVE!
Long story short, my dad went from healthy with alzheimer’s and 1 year later, died of rapid and declined in health. I know for a fact that if he was provided with better care, he would had lived much longer than 1 year. We reported this to the state and the state made immediate action. By then, too late for us.
Currently taking this place to court so that no other family will lose a love one like the way our family lost our dad.
Take my advice and do your research. Really!!!

DO NOT TAKE ANYONE YOU CARE FOR INTO THIS «FACILITY». THEY DO NOT CARE FOR YOUR FAMILY LIKE THEY SAY THEY WOULD. MY GRANDMOTHER WAS PLACED IN THIS PIECE OF CRAP FACILITY FOR TWO WEEKS AND WE SAW SIGNS OF LACK OF CARE AND ATTENTION TO THE PATIENTS.
My grandma broke out on her inner thigh because she was left sitting in her diaper for too long. The times that we came to visit her, we always saw her sitting in a wheelchair. Same as other patients. My mom complained to the Head Nurse and Doctor that her feet were swelling and that her rash is not healing. There was no action taken on their side. My mom felt as though they did not listen to her and discharged her from the facility.
I called the facility today to get medical diagnosis to forward to another nursing home. The lady in Medical Records was a total Cranky McCrankster. She was not professional and did not listen to what I had to say. She asked me why we took her home in the first place and I had told her the situation. She then became offensive and said the reason why she was swelling was because she had hypertension. NO FOOL! Why is it that her feet get swollen due to lack of exercise in the facility and that doesn’t happen when she’s at home being taken care of by my mom?! That’s a sorry excuse to cover your place. She had NOTHING to say about the diaper rash.
I feel sorry for the patient’s here. I was also told that if the patient’s don’t eat the food, they just roll them back to the room and are not fed anything else until the next food period. Not even ENSURE or some type of liquid?! COME ON!!! Places like these make every good nursing facility look bad!!! I totally want to report this place and get them re-​evaluated or shut down!

My 95 year old Sister-​In-​law has been a patient of Mission De La Casa for the last six years. In that time she has had money stolen from her purse, her family bible, hand made blankets and most recently a brand new soft blue robe. It is hard to believe that any of the daily nurse and helpers would take an elderly persons things, but it has happen all to often. I have high praise for the nurses and care givers at the home, because some time older people don’t know or understand what they are doing. But that is no excuse to take their things. Next, I will be filing a complain with the California State Nursing Home Board. Ken L.

This place deserves a negative 5 stars.
Don’t ever consider putting your loved ones in here. Don’t even put them in a nursing home because I really don’t think other places are THAT much different.
Here at this facility, you will not find their «Because we care» (displayed on their website) statement true whatsoever. Negligence. That’s what you’ll be paying for your parent’s stay. I don’t know much else about their property (seems okay, nothing fancy). I honestly think the most important aspect should be the way their staffs treat the elders in here, and this is not the place to look into if you want a good «home» for your loved one. Their staffs are shitty, and their management/​manager is a joke as well. They’re not in the business for the sake of their kind hearts, folks.
Put your family member here and you’re basically paying them to mistreat your family member. Don’t do it. Look elsewhere.

I feel so extremely blessed to have had my mom staying in the Mission De La Casa Nursing Home Center.
The care and support provided by everyone including CNAs, nurses, and staff at the center are extremely helpful. My mom has received caring, loving from the center that has changed my mom’s life both in physical and spiritual.
I am very happy to have my mom staying in the center, that is one of my best decision.

My grandma was very unhappy living alone after my grandpa died.
She was depressed, obese and suffering from diabetes among other health problems.
After much discussion among our family members, we decided that we could no longer provide grandma the care she needed and admitted her to Mission De La Casa.
It was the best decision we could have made for grandma.
My aunt, who is a nurse for the State Department, made visits to the nursing home to check on the quality of services provided by the facilities and was very happy.
My mom, aunts, uncles, brother and I often come to hang out and check up on grandma and we see that the nurses and CNAs are attentive and friendly. We have observed firsthand on an every-​other-​day basis the interaction between the nurses, CNAs and grandma. And they make her happy.
The doctors and nurses take care of my grandma’s nutrition very well. We use to feel bad and bring in food for grandma because she would complain about the food, but really, the food is nutritionally sound.
She eats very lean meals that caters to her nutritional needs as a diabetic elder. Although she is still overweight, she is no longer obese and she is happy.
People who put their elders into nursing homes and think that everything including companionship comes with the package are mistaken. And to think that TV will make up for them not visiting is wrong.
Go visit your parents.
I do not like the idea of putting my grandma in a nursing home. Any nursing home. But grandma has friends there and is happier here than she was at home. That makes me a fan of the place.

At first I was concerned when the hospital sent my mom here because I read so many negative comments here. But this place is very close to where we live, so we decide to give it a try. But surprisingly, we all like this place. First of all, it’s clean, all the nurses are very friendly and helpful. They do come to check my mom twice a day. No TV? so? Bring you old TV there, they let you do that. They help my mom do exercise and give her a message every morning. Her condition is improving. To all the people posting negative comments, you have to understand that this is a Rehab center, not a hospital. The patient to nurse is high, but you got what you pay for. Don’t just leave everything to the nurse. It’s also your job to come every morning and after work to spend time with your elderlies and keep her companied.

MORE LIKE ZERO STARS. This joint is a JOKE.
I’ll have to admit they are good for 2 things:
(1) A Great place to punish your loved ones (Imagine yourself sitting in an empty room with no TV, just you and 4 blank walls, and nobody to come by to check up on you)
(2) Filing lawsuits and guaranteed to WIN (great opportunity for all of you law students)
My grandmother was brought into here for vaginal infection. I noticed a week has gone by and her catheter is still bloody and cloudy (In other words, SHE’S BEEN LOSING BLOOD). I walked over to the nurses’ station and asked to skim through her vitals chart.

ME: Excuse me, she’s been hypotensive for a week now. What medication have you been treating her infection with?
HEAD NURSE: We’re not using any.
ME: And why not???
HEAD NURSE: We need to request a urinary analysis test from the doctor first. (Well DUH my question is WHY HAVN’T YOU)
ME: Have you?
HEAD NURSE: No.
ME: Can you?
(The test arrived the next day along with the antibiotic, and VIOLA the catheter’s clear, she’s cured. All in the same day.)
HEAD NURSE: Wow, good observation.
So why didn’t your ass made that call in the 1^st place! And this fool is supposedly the HEAD NURSE? Oh my geez. *Catholic cross* (taps forehead, shoulders, and tummy).

So everybody knew she’s been bleeding through her vaj since Day 1 and NO ONE gave a damn to open their mouths to the doctors about it?
The protocol is simple. You do what you can, then pull out the tests and administer any medication once permission has been granted by the doctor or medical director (takes a day max). None of these idiots had the balls or brains to carry such a simple task. . How did all of you pass NCLEX again???
I’ve witnessed incompetent nurses everyday that I was there. From ignoring the light that’s been beaming above the patients’ room for the past half hour. to delivering an oxygen tank with a missing nozzle on the regulator. to moving around slower than a turtle on roller blades. It’s just plain sad and despicable.

I do not like it here.
The first time you go there as a potential visitor, you might like it, but you got to spend time and observe the facility more.
The workers here are incompetent and they don’t care about your loved one!
The physical therapy here is ok… but they can improve a lot more.
The community room is really old!
I feel bad for the people here…

I had to place my mom in a 24 hour licensed care facility and I am happy to say that this is a great choice !! She is treated with dignity, kindness, respect, tender care, good food, very clean environment, competitive costs for care «out-​of-​pocket» (no medi-​cal yet), good communication with me regarding her needs, stimulating activities, etc… I have tried other facilities (3) and I am so relieved FINALLY to be able to sleep at night knowing she is in good hands ! Thank you and keep up the good work you do !

We checked our father in at 6pm at this facility, and all he got for diner was a bowl of rice, and small salad dish, no chicken, no beef. Good thing my sister brought some diner from home for him. He felt down around midnight in the restroom, and could not get up by himself, so he yelled for help for ½ hrs b4 he got help. Next day we transferred him to Valley House in Santa Clara. Staffs are not friendly, and unattentive. No TV in any room. no TV hookup. Bring your own TV and TV stand. Manual bed (use hand to crank up the head & leg).
We’d stay away from this facility from now on.
