I’ve lived in Willow Glen now going on 20+ years, and its always nice to have your neighborhood business that you can always go to for years and years and always rely on for years and years. No headaches, no games, no nickle and diming or worse being ripped off. These guys are straight up honest, reliable and consistently dependable. Its nice having a local goto mechanic that you come and visit year over year over year.

Close to City College of San Jose and near the Freeway exit and entrance. Finding the shop can be a bit weary but going down Parkmoor Ave there is a notable «smog here» on the left side to turn into Lincoln (then a U-​turn). I was personally recommended by the previous owner of my current vehicle to get some work done in this shop. That says a lot if I write a 5-​star review on it and came all the way from Daly City. (It’s my second other car so I was willing to drop my car here. Cal train is 15 minute walk away so no biggie.) It’s a very tight and small auto shop that also does smog. It tends to get crowded quickly, as it is a first come first serve concept. (If the customer is looking for car work to be done in the fastest timeframe I would not recommend this shop, they are timely and careful insuring quality work and techniques for a reasonable price. If the initial quote is higher then the first time, they will notify you before beginning the job so no hidden surprises as they did for me.) What I like most is they communicate well with concise info, and focus on a priority car issue one at a time instead of listing all the problems like Midas does and guess work is needed to prioritize meh maybe this one first? or that one? Aha. Worth a quote at least. Never hurts to ask.

For first time ever, I“m writing a second (updated) review of this service (original was 2008). After trying out another mechanic recently and almost getting ripped off I even value these guys more (BTW the other mechanic gets very high marks on Unilocal). This week they fixed my AC, saving me $ 200 on the cheapest other option. I’ve had everything from a fuel pump to basic maintenance from L&T– always ¹⁄₃ cheaper than anywhere else I’ve been AND honest to the core. Also friendly and responsive, no matter how stupid the questions (I’m a living testament to that) The downside– seems like they’re being discovered since their modest parking lot was jammed with cars this week. But small price to pay for top notch auto service at an affordable price.

These guys are really the nicest mechanics, always helpful and from what I can tell, know what they are doing.
They also do smog testing, which is quite convenient as it presents a one-​stop shop for us when it comes to our cars. :)
The price is unbeatable. My husband just got his oil changed today and they even recommended to bring our own synthetic oil as we would be able to purchase it a little cheaper at Walmart or similar rather than what they would need to charge us. We of course went to Target, purchased some, came back, told him the price, and he told us we paid too much and he’d organize it for us. Never had a more affordable oil change. What can you say to that? Then he took a quick look at my car about a question I had and whether it’d need fixing and he wouldn’t even accept a tip from us. (We’ll have to think of a different way to say thank you still I think :))
If you need a mechanic that knows what he is doing, is honest and kind, you should most definitely come here!
Update: Just had to drop off my car today for a fix. You don’t even want to know what BMW wanted to charge me. Let’s just say that L&T is charging waaaaay less than BMW would have! And they always do a great job. Really don’t know why anyone would go anywhere else.

What awesome service I just received! I was on my way home when my service light came on. I called and spoke to Vince and he said that he would be able to give me an oil change if I stopped by. Literally, from the time of my phone call to the time I got home, 50 mins! The service was super quick, but what struck me right away was the personable and honest work of this shop. Vince was informative, but got straight to the point. A full synthetic oil change for under $ 70… I will definitely be returning after my next 7,500 miles :)

These guys are great. $ 333.00 to replace a BMW water pump. Last time I had it done 5 years ago I remember it costing $ 850 at a European auto repair shop. Very nice mechanic’s. Of course they are not BMW certified but considering its 20 year old car I’m ok with having a thrifty repair job.

After almost being completely ripped off by big Os around the corner, this place really saved me!
The employees are very supportive and helped me to really solve the problem with my car to a fair price!
From now on this is my first choice mechanic. They are really interested in help people and not rip them off.

Excellent customer service! We came there right when it was closing and the mechanic still helped us with our smog check and oil chang, he had to stay there an extra 45 mins but it didn’t seem to bother him. They’re very customer oriented and friendly!

Great experience! I brought my Honda Civic in when it suddenly started sounding and smelling like death. I was very worried, but Vin diagnosed it and repaired it quickly, and made me feel comfortable the whole time. I will definitely come back if I need work in the future.

I was introduced to this autoshop by a friend, and he said great things about it. And he was right, these guys are very honest with fair pricing and decent work.
Issue: I had my power steering pump replaced by one of the mechanics. Diep, the main guy, checked out the car for free and told me I needed to install a new pump. I get a OEM pump from Subaru and he says it’ll take a couple of days to install the item. I return back and found out that he didn’t have the proper equipment to fully complete the installation, and was referred to go back to the dealer to «bleed» out the system. he discounted his work about 50 bucks, but bleeding out the system costs over 150 bucks. Kinda bummed that happened. But he was a good guy, and was honest, so I’ll be fair. unfortunately I still have the same problem, just minimized.

Moved to San Jose 4 years ago and a coworker recommended I go to this shop. I haven’t gone to another shop since. Compared to my previous experiences in southern California, this crew is very friendly, sociable, and easy to work with.
I’ve been around them a lot now and know that they’re honest, reliable, good willed people. They’re a small shop though, so for my sake I hope they don’t become too too popular.

It was my second time coming to this auto shop for car repair. They are very details, honest and the prices are so reasonable. I would highly recommend this to everyone.

I was so lucky to have found them right before they closed on a friday night, they basically saved me beyond belief. I was about to buy a 2000 BMW and everything seemed ok, but there was a funny smell, which I didn’t know the area so I questioned if it was the area or the car… luckily my friend who was with me found this place and we took it to go get looked at, he quoted $ 80 which would include a car fax report! I went to him and he knew this car so well and he started pointing out all the problems, THIS CAR WAS A LEMON. And the guy wanted way over KBB! What I loved most was they realized this and refused to talk to him and only myself and my friend, he was so great! Also after going over so much he asked if I wanted him to still test drive it, at that point I knew there was no point and realized I would not be coming home with a new car but an ice cream sandwich from Cream (AMAZING). He said I only owed him $ 20 since he didn’t drive it, but he saved me so much I would have been fine with $ 80, THANK YOU!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Vinh and his team is the best– they’re honest, reliable, and do quailty work. The prices are very fair and on the lower end of the quotes I got. When my car was going through a «fritzy stage» they told me what repairs and services I needed soon and what I could hold off on. The work was completed on time and I was able to get in touch when I had questions or concerns. Once, I needed specialty work and they were too booked to take it on themselves… so rather than leave me hanging they told me what my options were and then guided me when I was getting mixed info from other shops.
I always feel like I’m getting a straight forward answer and when it comes to (what can be) costly repairs/​work/​service. I appreciate this so I know what to plan for. They have gone above and beyond their call and their work has held up well. These guys are helpful and friendly and will continue to have my business.
Shot out to Vinh’s mom, who can sometimes be spotted around the shop– she’s a very sweet lady.

I come to Diep regularly to check out all the cars I have had– the guy is great. Helped me diagnose a problem, took 30 minutes of his time– and charged me 0. Nada. Zip. Squat. Who does that anymore! A genuine helpful guy. Oh, and Steven S. who reviewed below runs a competing car shop– check his profile, he gives other car shops shit reviews as well.
I will keep recommending this store to other peeps, so more people know he rocks!
