This is a GREAT Salon! They do excellent work on your hair to the point where you’ll feel like you’re a celebrity when you walk out of there. This salon is clean, no gossip, wonderful ambiance, reasonable prices and you’re in and out of there… no waiting for appointments. I will continue to go to this Salon just so my favorite beautician/cosmotologist, Nikki, can do her hair magic!

A black hair place in Willow Glen? Yeah, I was confused too. I only went there once before I moved out of the area, and I had a great experience. The shop is clean and well laid-out and fashionably decorated, with cable TV and plenty of magazines to look at, and everybody working there seems to know exactly what they are doing. I can’t remember the name of my hairdresser(forgive me) but she specialized in natural hair, which was great. She was friendly and I felt really comfortable letting her work on my dreds. First she shampooed and conditioned my hair, then used the palm-roll technique to separate and tighten the roots, and sat me under the dryer. It was a quick in and out deal(about 45 minutes total), Kuttin’ Up is awesome. It is one of the nicest-looking black hair salons I have ever been in, with friendly receptionists and stylists and a professional atmosphere. My stylist knew natural hair and left my dreds looking great(which was not the case at any of the other salons I have been to in San Jose.) The location was also great for me; no more driving up to Oakland to get my hair done!
