I think i just got unlucky. I am growing out my hair for a bun and i got rose n and explained to her that al i wanted was a cleanup. I think she misunderstood me l, not sure why, so i get more chopped of than i wanted! Well not coming back for sure!

I’ve had one of the best haircut ever here. Julie is extremely knowledgeable with men hair.

I have been to Kittiez multiple times for haircut and beard styling, no complaints, and by far this is one of the best hair salon i have been to in bay area. Very friendly staff, the guys at reception are very friendly and will offer you beer /​water and stuff as soon as you check in. Nice and tidy, good music. The kittiez are also very friendly and skilled. I have taken services from Hannah, Gizel, Rose Lynn and all of them are fab. I absolutely recommend this place.

A million stars… Haircuts are not to be taken lightly. I show them a picture, they do work. BAMM! Makara is the professor Xavier of the squad and Lexi (I hope I spelled that right): O is one of my favorites too. See pics!

I had always gotten my haircut at some of the more generic salons, and I’ve always gotten decent haircuts. Not bad, but nothing to write home about.
This is my second time at kittiez, and I’m sold. They have a very warm and responsive staff and a relaxed atmosphere.
Best of all is the stylist, Hannah. My hair is thick and not easy to work with but Hannah is up to the challenge. She’s very detailed with her work, and has. been helping me shape the style I’m looking for. I never leave with that awkward just got my haircut look.

I tried Kittiez for the first time about 3 months ago after several years of very expensive bad hair cuts. A co-​worker of mine has been going here for years. I was a little reluctant because it’s a hair salon for men, but I figured, what’s there to loose.
I went in with a photo and asked if there was anyone who specialized in short hair for women. They hooked me up with Lexi. She saw my vision, and saved my hair! She new exactly what to do and I couldn’t be happier! I’m getting tons of compliments!
The coolest part was the owner came over when I was in her chair and said he didn’t feel right charging me for a women’s cut because my hair was so short. So I was only charged for a men’s cut… $ 27… TWENTY SEVEN DOLLARS!!! I’ve been paying $ 70 for terrible cuts for years!!!
So if you’re looking for an edgy short hair do, I highly recommend Lexi. She also does long hair and color.
The owners are awesome, and everyone working there is super nice, helpful and awesome!!!

Tried many places around Santa Clara (CA) before I found Kittiez and nobody was able to understand what kind of hair cut I wanted. Gizal R understood it at my very first visit, and did better than what I expected. When people complement and ask you from where you have got your hair cut, that testifies how good Gizal is at her profession.
Today was my second visit and I was thinking of how to remind Gizal what kind of cut she gave me last time as I wanted exactly the same. Came to know that they had made a note in their computer of what kind of hair cut I got during my first visit and they earned a permanent customer…

I first went to Kittiez about four months ago. Having coarse hair that gets pretty damn curly once it’s longer than a couple of inches, it’s really easy for stylists to mess up. Kittiez hasn’t disappointed me yet, and their customer service is great.
Last time I was in, I got my hair cut by Hannah L. She was thorough, precise, communicative, and I walked out with exactly the cut I was looking for. Six or seven weeks later, and it’s still looking great. Of course, that doesn’t change the fact that I’m going in later this week to get it trimmed. :P
If you’re new to the area or just not satisfied with your current stylist, give Kittiez a shot. It’s my go-​to.

Julie V can do this with her eyes closed. A few pics for a baseline image, one look at my own personal features and dimensions, and she customized a work of art. Nothing short of an artist with her craft… and she is ANAL about perfection. I quote — «i don’t care if I’m a little bit late for the next appointment, I’ll get in trouble but I can’t let you leave if its not PERFECT.» She meant it and she did it.
One pass with the clippers, another pass with the scissors. After she shampooed, did another pass with the scissors to eliminate the strays. Lined up everything, neck, beard, sides and sideburns with the straight razor. She is legit. She is OCD AF. She is everything!

We decided to try this place out to get my nearly 2 year old son’s hair cut. Not only did they do an awesome job on his hair cut (much better than anywhere else we’ve been), but they were also very accommodating, considering we didn’t have an appointment. They were even able to get my husband in as well. They were all super nice, and the place was very clean with modern décor. My husband and son will be going back there for their haircuts from now on.

Always nice coming in. Employees all got positive energy and always leave happy.
Plus their skills with scissors helps as well!

At first I thought this salon was going to be classy… instead it was Trashy. Super ghetto music and staff members. This salon seems more like a place for young guys to find hot dates in super high heels and short mini skirts with cleavages popping out.
The girl who cut my son’s hair speaks No English and she couldn’t comprehend or grasp the concept of giving my son a medium haircut. She kept nodding her head and saying ”yes…yes I know!” Then she cut way too much off the sides and top of his hair. Obviously she doesn’t know!!!
PLEASE HIRE STYLISTS WHO CAN SPEAK ENGLISH WELL.
She butchered my teenage son’s hair. She shouldn’t be called a ”Barber”…she should be called a ”Butcher”.
This place is filled with Butchers… Not Barbers !!!
Just come here to date these girls because I see them flirting with the guys.

Excellent establishment. A friend recommended it to me when I first moved to the area and I’m so glad he did. All of the staff are warm and friendly and the place has a great atmosphere.
I normally book my appointments with Gizal. She consistently does a wonderful job and pays excellent attention to detail. I highly recommend her and Kittiez in general.

I found this place with the help of a friend and Unilocal about 6 months back and have never looked back.
My first visit was great. I was greeted and immediately asked if I had an appointment. I told them I didn’t and they did their best to accommodate me. They sat me with Rosa C. (whom I highly recommend) and I’ve been going to be ever since.
She asked me how I’d like my hair and I showed her a picture of something that I was leaning towards. She took her time with the cut and finished with razor lineup and hard part. I’ve changed it up, here and there, but I’ve been pretty consistent with the same cut because of the consistency of the service.
My cut is $ 25 and I usually tip $ 10 or more. That’s for a basic cut with no wash. I book my appointments pretty far in advance on their third party app called Varago. It’s super easy to use to book, reschedule and confirm your appointment. It even goes as far as to send you reminders two days before and set up calendar reminder for your appointment. I go ever two weeks so it pretty helpful for myself and my busy schedule.
I’ve never bought their products but I’ve always like when they’ve been used on my hair.
All in all, I highly recommend to try them out.
Pros: My stylist is great (Rosa C.), the free app (Varago) and the service.
Cons: always busy (make an appointment) can be expensive for some (but you get what you pay for)

Definitely my go-​to spot for hairstyling! The staff are very friendly and they occasionally offer water for those who wait.
So far I’ve had Gizal and Thi as my stylist and all I can say is… they are both amazing with their own way of cutting/​styling. Been going back for about 7 months and continuing

Came to Kittiez after a recommendation by a friend. I don’t have a regular place I go to to get my haircut since I only come back to the bay to visit family, but after today’s trip I can say that I’ll be regularly getting my haircut every time I do come back to the bay.
I made an appointment with Julie and everything went well from the beginning. They greet you promptly when you walk in and offer you some water, I got checked in and seated right away (my appointment was in the morning, I’m sure things get busier in the afternoon).
I told Julie how I usually got my haircut, and she asked if she could offer me a suggestion. She showed me the natural tendency for my hair to grow and explained how she could work with that and make a nicer looking cut/​style instead of me trying to fight it. I’m glad she offered her professional opinion.
She was very courteous and professional and i would recommend her to a friend.

Slightly skeptical at first because it reminded me a lot of Supercuts which hasn’t always been a first choice of mine. Decided to give it a shot after seeing the reviews.
Got my first haircut here with Rose, and it was definitely not a Supercuts. Reasonably priced. Rose did a superb job. Had a buddy come after me and he said the same thing.
I’d highly recommend this place. The staff is extremely friendly as well.

My 11-​year old son is REALLY picky about his hairstyle. We’ve gone to a upscale salon in San Jose and the cut was GREAT! But it cost me $ 50 (including a $ 5 tip). So… Although that salon lives up to the cutting-​edge styles of today, that was a bit too pricey for me considering he is only 11 years old. So with price in mind, I asked my coworker where her husband gets his hair cut and she said he goes to Kittiez. Of course I was a little bit hesitant and so I looked at the reviews and was impressed by a lot of them.
When I called, Steven (sp?) answered the phone nicely and he recommended Ursula. Being a good mom, I did my homework and searched for her name under the reviews, but could not find any. So with New Year’s eve coming up quickly and my son’s hair covering his eyes because I’ve been putting it off so long in search of trying to find a perfect hairstylist for him, I honestly felt a little apprehensive about him seeing a new stylist we have never experienced before.
To my surprise, Ursula was very versed in the shears. She looked at the picture, and recommended some minor adjustments to the cut. She checked in often with him, and with me, for certain lengths. She did exactly what we requested. It looked like the picture that we brought in. She was quiet but had a very friendly and nice energy. But most importantly my son did not make a face of disapproval when he looked in the mirror. My cutie actually had a smile that he was trying to hide. The haircut was awesome and we will definitely see Ursula for my son’s future haircuts! Thank you!

After skimming through all the positive reviews, I took a shot at this place. Given the environment and the atmosphere of the place was so promising, I was expecting a professional stylist who could communicate well too.
My stylist was Kim, and she pretty much butchered my hair. The hair has no shape or forms now. It is a complete mess. Her English was awful, com’on it’s a service industry you will have to be able to communicate with your client. We barely understood what we said to each other and that was a major turn off.
Once I asked the front desk if they have any other experienced stylist, they defended by saying that all their stylists have 5+ years of experience. But experience don’t count if you can’t understand what the client is asking for.
I will try this place again but definitely not with her.

I love this place and Makara! Everyone is so nice and welcoming. I love that this place is a play on the traditional barber shop. The décor is so chic, the girls are stylish, and I love that they play R&B here.
I like coming here with the beau to get his cuts done and hang out in the waiting area. He gets his cuts done by Thi, but have also had them from the other stylists here and his cuts have always been great.
It’s modern, they play football, and have good looking hairstylists. What more could a guy ask for?
