Ignore the reviews that mark this place down. I’ve been coming here for years and the owner knows what he’s doing.
I’d much rather support a small business where the owner is the person who you deal with for the work.
The prices are reasonable, and the location is convenient. What more could you ask for?

Yes, it’s expensive, probably $ 30 – 40 over the going rate… but I’ve got to tell you, I was in and out in LESS THAN 10 MINUTES today. The five star-​rated place next door would have been an hour wait, if they could even do the test today. Done and done.

Felt the price was high for a smog test ($ 75 for an SUV). Because he was nice and it was done fast, I’m not going to complain. But if he simply adjusted his price to be more competitive in the area I’m sure he’d get better Unilocal reviews and gain more business.
I only went here because I didn’t do my research and didn’t have time to go to another place after I heard the price. If I did look on Unilocal first and saw the current reviews, I likely wouldn’t have come — this the nature of Unilocal

Was in a pinch to get a smog as my DMV was up. Found this shop online and came by in the afternoon. The guy running it was super nice and told me he would be finished with the test soon. I was expecting to wait a while but everything was done in about 15 minutes. I highly recommend this place for a fair quick smog check.

I had a good experience: When I called, the owner Amir, was very friendly to me and said he had one car ahead of me, but if I came in 20 minutes, he would do the smog test even though it was close to his closing time. I asked if he could give a Unilocal discount and he said he would take $ 10 off the $ 75 price. Yes, he’s not the cheapest but not the most expensive either, but I felt he did an honest job and had me in and out in 10 minutes! My ’98 Camry passed the emission test but was significantly on the high side of average. He told me what some of the common causes were on my car for failing emission test, which will help me be aware of those things in the future. He offered suggestions about how to maximize the margin on the test by making sure the car was well warmed up and to make sure the car is tested hot — not to park and wait too long with the engine off before the test — good Advice!

These #@%&^!! charged my teenage daughter $ 95 for a smog test (her first time doing this and an expensive lesson learned).

$ 75 to do a smog test that everyone else does for $ 45? And rude too? No thanks. Avoid.

$ 75! I thought he quoted me $ 25 the seven looked like a two. Kinda outrageous for what took a total of 5 minutes. It is a test only place so the equipment costs can’t be that much.

Overall fast & discount made up for the Cons. In and out in 10mins. Yeah!

— No free retest (½ off new retest for 2 weeks) if you flunk
