Mission
The goal of KalaAwishkar Dance School is to spread the rich values of Indian culture through dance, not only in the Indian community but also among the vast multicultural community in and outside of the Bay Area.
History
Established in 2000.
KalaAwishkar was first registered in Pune, India in the year 2000. Here the very ancient Puddukottai and Pandanallur style of Bharatnatyam is been taught. This institute has brought a harmonious blend of dance and Yoga! It has conducted innumerable shows both in India and US. This school currently has young students between the age of three to teens and adults as old as 45 years. KalaAwishkar is currently working on bringing awareness among the dancers both in US and India, for having a fit body and mind. The dance school is working on designing exercises for dancers to avoid injuries caused, while dancing and how to tone the body and prepare the body for dance! KalaAwishkar has produced and choreographed several dance drama to name a few, ‘Geet Ramayan’, ‘Tichi Goshta/her story’ and ‘ShivoHam’, Shiva the self appeared.

Mrs. Shraddha Joglekar
Mrs.Shraddha is the artistic director of Kalaawishkar Bharatnatym Dance School based in San Jose. She started learning Bharatnatyam at the age of 2.5 yrs under the guidance of Guru Upadhyae in Dharwad and continued with Guru A. Soudamini Rao in Pune. And continues to enrich her knowledge in Bharatnatyam and has perfected the art of Nattuvangam under the guidance of Guru Dr. Swati Daithankar. Shraddha is also learning Mridangam from Shri. Ramesh Srinivasan.
Shraddha holds a dual graduation in Bachelors of Commerce & Bachelors of Arts in Bharatnatyam and has a Master’s degree in Marketing. She started her teaching career in Pune and has trained more than 100 students in the past 16 years.
She has performed in many-reputed dance festivals throughout India and has mastered both subtle Abhinaya (expression) & graceful movements in her dance style. She has been recognized for her performance of ‘Geet Ramayana’ A Dance Drama, ‘Tichi Gostha’ (Her story)
