Anna has been doing my hair for over 5 years… she is an amazing hair stylist! She has a talent for creating styles that complement my face… She is consistent, she remembers my preferences. Anna is easy and fun to talk to! I can’t imagine going to anyone else! and Kaizen Salon is great! Convenient location in Japantown, easy street parking, and the other hair stylists are fun!

Anna is an amazing hair stylist. I will not go to anyone else. She knows what I like and always has a great attitude and aims to please. I highly recommend you COME IN AND MEET HER.

I have been getting my hair done by Anna for 12 years now. I have naturally curly hair and she always does a great job. She has always accommodated my wild choices in hair color and nails it every time! Most recently I have gone platinum.

I have been going to Anna for 25 yr or more, she is one of the best hair dressers in town, never wait, always prompt, easy to chat with, make you feel like a million bucks in the end, I would refer her to anyone who is looking for a new hairdresser or change, you will not be disappointed, so give my girl a shot… she’s amazing, and I get so many compliments on my hair.

I have been going to Anna my whole life. She has been cutting my Mom’s hair since my mom was 16 and still does till this day and she even did mine and my brother’s first haircuts (I’m 23 now). I regularly go for trims and my hair always feels fresh afterwards. When I highlighted my hair for the first time she made it look so natural I thought I was born with that color. When I decided to change up the color I told her I was looking for a red that wasn’t too bright because of my work and she showed me the color she was thinking of and it was exactly the color I wanted! Every time I’ve explained what hairstyle I’m looking for she knows and does exactly what I want. I have gotten so many compliments because of her. I REALLY recommend her!

This review is for Vicky. Had to get my old shellac removed and get a new color for a wedding this weekend so I decided to try his place out bc it’s so close to my office, Vicky got great reviews previously so why not? She was super sweet and very talkative; she did a great job on my nails and I love the shape that she filed my nails into. $ 25 for shellac, she didn’t charge me for removal, which some places do. Would def recommend!

This review is for Vicky the manicurist at the Kaizen Salon.
My initial visit to Vicky was on a weekday after work. She was pleasant and did a good job on my fill. I wasn’t happy that I told her over the phone at the time of scheduling the appointment that I had gel nails and my previous manicurist used gel powder. When I arrived, she used acrylic on my nails. I allowed her to do so, as it was too late to go elsewhere and I had to attend a wedding out of town the next day.
Vicky asked a lot of personal questions and talked the whole time of the appointment. If I was vague about my personal business, she would continue to ask questions. I finally told her I didn’t care to share the information and she finally stopped asking questions.
I thought I would give her another chance and called her two weeks later for another fill. When she made the appointment, she said «Okay I will see you for your fill.» I decided to change my mind and get a pedicure, so I called the next day. She gave me the same appointment for the pedicure. When I arrived for my pedicure, she told me to sit at her manicurist table, but I told her my appointment was for a pedicure. She immediately begin to raise her voice at me and tell me that my appointment was for a fill. I reminded her that I had called her back and changed the appointment from a fill to a pedicure. She continued to talk for an additional 10 minutes. I attempted to tell her that we should just consider this issue as a mistake and move forward. She told me to sit down in the pedicure chair. After she took all my polish off my toes, she told me she only had time for a polish change and was not going to give me a pedicure. I told her to just do the polish change and to let me pay her and leave. She applied the polish in a hurry and told me she was going to call me for a fill. As far as I’m concerned, I will never go back to Vicky. She is disrespectful and as a business owner should a treat her customers with respect.
I recall she kept telling me she liked me. What Vicky likes is to talk alot.
FInd someone else to do your nails. A business person should appreciate their customers, not mistreat them.

I had been getting my hair beautified by Debbie for over 5 years now. The salon is clean and welcoming and the deco is modern which is great but what kept me coming back is the great color/​cut/​style service I received. I have been very happy with how Debbie tames my locks and keeps the greys from taking over. As I’ve gotten older, my hair has become kind of wavy and frizzy but she works her magic to put life, luster, and manageability back into it. She introduced me to highlights (which I was nervous about at first) and I love it! She’s honest when I ask her about a certain cut — if she didn’t think it would suit the frame of my face, she’d tell me. Prices are extremely reasonable which is icing on the cake.
When I leave Kaizen with my new do, I always feel like a rock star — with beautiful hair :-).
I recently moved to Southern California and am in search for a salon that provides the same type of awesome service that I’m accustomed to for a reasonable price and have yet to find one I’m happy with. In the mean time, when I fly up to the bay area, my #1 priority is to see if I can book a last minute appointment with my #1 stylist… Debbie!

The salon is ok. I find it unsettling to have the tv blasting every time I go in there. I think music would be more appropriate for the customers then having tv talk shows on. Not very relaxing.

I took my stepdaughter with me to get our nails done by Vickie and I’m so glad I did because she is amazing! She made us feel so comftorable and welcome from the moment we walked in. My stepdaughter decided to get a shellac manicure which looked amazing and I decided on a French polish pedicure. She took her time with us and did a great job. I’m very happy with the way my pedi came out. My feet look so clean and my toes look perfect! I definitely recommend that people come in to see vickie for their nail appointments. She will give u a great experience and provide good quality work.

I get so many compliments about my hair and I have to thank Debbie for her work. She’s great at suggesting different styles during the seasons. Not very many stylists can do good work on my hair but I have to be honest, she’s really good. Her prices are reasonable, it can be tough to get an appointment which tells me that she’s busy and does really well at doing hair.

One word, Awesome! My family and I have been coming to Debbie for years and have followed her as she has moved to different locations.

I have been coming here for over a year now why?
1) Great service at a reasonable price
2) Debbie’s infectious smile and laugh; she makes you feel welcome
3) I go in looking disheveled and come out looking presentable :)
