Here’s my review:
Went to the salon this past Saturday to get it done. Houng is the lady that owns the place and does the tattoo so I lay down on one of their salon chair so she can draw the eyebrows to see if I like it. She pulled out a razor and OMG! my heart was about to stop and I immediately tell her that please DO NOT shave my eyebrows off. She then assure me that she will not and is trimming some of my eyebrows only. Whew!
She then drew the eyebrows on me and it was not what I wanted, heck! I show her a pix on my phone as to how I wanted and that lady is so effen stubborn. She draws what she «think» looks good on you but I was determine not to take her eyebrows drawing and asked her to fixed it. She got all pissed at me and started speaking in Vietnamese, I knew she was talking about me b/​c it was obvious. She fix it and it was still not to my liking so she left me and went to her other customer that was there before me. After a few minutes one of the girl finally fix it to my liking.
After she was done with her other customer, she then worked on mine… it doesn’t hurt at all and it took about 10 – 15 min. At first it was very dark and it looked like she changed it to her previous eyebrows which I was kind of disappointed but then after a few days, the color started to fade to be more lighter and I’m loving it now.

I would love to give this place (Chi Huong) more stars but I can’t after I came in to get my eyebrows done last Saturday and here are my reasons why:
1) I asked for a particular shape and I was persistent… didn’t work she still made the corners more round instead of arched like I had persistently requested.
2) I asked that she draws the ends a little longer. Her reply, «it’s ugly if you make it too long. Just draw it in if you like it longer.». WTH? I’m sorry are you paying for my eyebrows or am I paying for them? Why would I waste my time drawing them in when my purpose of going to you is to prevent from having to do that???
3) My right side is lower than my left side. I pointed it out to her when she drew it on and she said she’ll make it straight. WRONG it’s still crooked.
4) When paying they told me it is $ 120.00 if you want to come back after 2 – 4 months for a touch up and $ 60.00 if you are NOT coming back for a touch up. Of course I paid $ 120.00 cuz I want to make sure she could touch up any imperfections but now I’m wondering if I should have paid $ 120.00 at all. A touch up is NEEDED and shouldn’t be charged to your customers much less the same amount ($ 60.00 fee) as if you were going there and not intended to come back.
Honestly, I know she is good but she’s beginning to sound like that one SF lady who is famous for not let her customers comment on how she tatoos their eyebrows. I may not be coming back here after I get my touch up or when my eyebrows fade.
Here’s a tip: Listen to your customers as they are paying $ 120.00 for their eyebrows and don’t say you’re gonna fix correct something when you WON’T. My eyebrows will remain slanted til they fade in another 1 – 2 years. =(

I’ve been filling in my brows for years and it takes up most of my daily make-​up routine. My brow hairs are very light and sparse so it takes a lot of time for me to give them an actual shape and make them look somewhat similar. On certain days, when I’m on a time crunch and have to get two other kids ready, my eyebrows turn out looking horrendous.
I’ve always wanted to try semi-​permanent makeup, but the idea of tattooing something on my face was absolutely terrifying. Luckily, my girl friend decided to get hers done after seeing it on many of her friends. The result was gorgeous, natural looking brows and I couldn’t wait to book an appointment!
The whole procedure is very «wham-​bam-​thank you mam». That’s just how it is at your average Asian beauty salon. If you’re the type of person who wants someone to cater to your every need and explain every little thing to you, then it’s probably better for you to go to a high-​end place. Although the service isn’t high-​end, Huong is really good at what she does and girls flock into this place to get their brows done by her. At Huong’s place, she kind of assumes you already know the drill and doesn’t say much, so if you have any questions, do ask! Also, she will automatically do what she thinks looks good on you, so if you specifically want your brows a certain way, speak up! My best advice to you: When she’s finished, don’t freak out when you look in the mirror. Remember that your eyebrows are swollen because you just got them tattoo’d. Also, your brows will be thicker and darker than they’re supposed to be during the first 2 weeks. After that, they will peel and look the way they’re supposed to.
The ink lasts up to a year and you get a free touch-​up after 2 months (expires after 6 months). Although I wasn’t 100% satisfied with the shape of my brows, I love how natural they look and that I don’t have to fill them in every day! I will definitely come back to touch them up and adjust the shape once they fade.

Huong is my aunt’s close friend, so I am lucky to have her services done at a much lower rate, but I would totally pay full price for her services because she’s good at what she does and she’s affordable.
Cost: $ 120 with a free touch-​up after 2 months, but that service expires after 6 months.
I am not blessed with full brows like my brother. He also got long lashes. Just my luck, right? So I draw and fill in my brows since high school. I would love one eyebrow, but can never get the other one right. I know that brows are supposed to be sisters and not twins, but I sometimes struggle to make them even look related. So I wanted to get them done to save me time.
After I got them done a few years ago, my friends and even random strangers would asked me what products I use for my brows, and they were shocked when I tell them that they’re tattoo’d. Of course it doesn’t look natural like you have nothing on your brows, but it looks natural as in… it’s filled with a soft powder.
A lot of people get scared of the idea of tattoo’d brows because the old method would leave a lot of the older generation with bluish brows that looks Sharpied in, but Huong uses the dash-​dotting method… with mixtures of brown ink to make it look natural and suitable to your skin.
NOTE:
These are your eyebrows. They’re going to be tattoo’d on you. If you know how you like your eyebrows, you have to be frank and firm and tell her in advanced. Describe to her. Show her pictures of you with make up on. You can’t be quiet and assume she knows how you want it… and then get mad that she did what she believe suits you, and not what you pictured. Also be realistic. Not everyone can have Megan Fox or Camille Belle’s brows that look natural. Sucks, but I’m in that pool, too.

I use to fill in/​draw my eyebrows everyday and I simply got tired of it. A handful of my friends starting tattooing/​tinting their eyebrows and I immediately hopped on that wagon! One of my friends schedule the appt for me and drove me out to SJ to get my eyebrows tattooed.
I got my eyebrows done by Huong when she worked at different location back in ⁰⁸⁄₀₉ and the first time i went in to get my brows done was a bit nerve wrecking. The results were mild swelling and it started to itch/​peel withing 3 – 4 days. It was lighter than I expected but have no fear, i have a free touch up after a month and half. I love the technique of feathering and the shape of my eyebrows, I get compliments from all the ladies at the hair and nail salon! Huong is definitely skilled! the only thing I wish was differ is that she can speak english or something b/​c communication with her was definitely barred with me. Luckily I have vietnamese gf’s who can translate :) lol
I’ve seen Huong 3 times in the past 2.5 years, I will be going back to her again when I need a touch up.
ps. her prices are reasonable for her service! $ 120 for the first visit + touch up. and if you are going in to touch up your brows it is approx $ 80! :) hope this helps!

A lot of my friends come to Huong to get their eyebrows done and I decided to try it myself after seeing their results. My first time was back in August. and it was NOT a good experience at all. Before they began, one of the ladies asked me which option I wanted between wax or shave my eyebrows because it was «mandatory» to clean the area before they started the hairbrushing/​tattooing. I told her wax since that sounded better than SHAVING my eyebrows and later found out that she charged me $ 12 extra for it –_​_​_​– (I also found out after that it really wasn’t mandatory since a few other people I knew never had to do that). Anyways, I went on to pick the shape I wanted and Huong started on it. Here’s a tip: there’s really NO POINT in picking the shape since she just draws on whatever she thinks looks best and I think she picks the COLOR too. She showed me what she drew and I told her it was a bit too thick and that I wanted it a little thinner. she said not to worry and that it wouldn’t come out thick and started working. Half way through, I asked to see it and to my surprise, my eyebrows were EXACTLY as she drew it and was exactly what I told her I DIDN’T want! As embarrassing as it is to talk about, I started literally crying as she continued to tattoo this on me– I mean what can I do since she already did half of the job? The biggest issue for me wasn’t even the thickness of it though, but the fact that it was uneven. The front of my right eyebrow was longer than the left. She knew I was very upset and reassured me that it would fade and that it wouldn’t even be that dark and the front part is not gonna look like that in a few days so I calmed myself down and left. After a few days, it DID fade like she said. However, I had to fix the unevenness myself with makeup and by peeling the front away so it wouldn’t be as dark. Over time, I thought it was okay since it gave me the shape (I still had to draw in my eyebrows because it fades to super super light, but it’s still okay since atleast I have the shape to go off of). Anyhoo, I decided that I’ll go back for my touch up since it was free anyway. but this time, I decided I was gonna be VERY specific about what I wanted in order to avoid this unevenness mistake from happening again.
So last week, I went in for my touch up. This time I asked that she made it a little thicker and a little darker (since by the time it fades, it would be perfect). She did everything I liked except for ONE THING! SHE STILL MADE IT UNEVEN JUST LIKE THE FIRST TIME! I’m not sure why that is. I think my face is pretty symmetrical yet both times, my right eyebrow is longer than my left. Maybe something is just wrong with my face O. o But yeah, I couldn’t have been more clear. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED HER TO NOT TOUCH THE FRONT OF MY EYEBROWS cuz I was afraid she would make it uneven. Anyways, I was really frustrated at the moment. but I still left her with a tip and a smile on my face. One because she’s a LITTLE intimidating, haha. And second because I didn’t wanna stand there and argue about something that’s already done.
Right now, after exactly a week, it has faded and peel to a very nice shade/​shape and it is light enough that I can hardly see the unevenness– which is good news to me since that was my biggest problem. So anyways, to sum up my experience with Huong. She is good at what she does and I guess that’s why everyone goes to her. I just wish she could take her customer’s reference/​opinions into consideration when she is putting on semi-​permanent ink on their face. Just saying. but still, she’s good and I’ll probably be back later on when it starts really fading :)

Huong did an AMAZING job! I am very wary of who I trust with my ‘brows and the only person I’d got to see for to groom them is Natalie at Fantasy nails in Eastridge. I drive 35 min from the east bay just to see her, happily and sadly at the same time, I don’t have to see Natalie anymore!
I’ve always had a negative outlook on tattooing eyebrows cuz I would see the old asian ladies who got it done and it would look grayish purple, plus it would look too dark and unnatural. But I have to say mine look GREAT and pretty natural, considering they’re tattooed in.
The first few days I looked a little freaky because it was way too dark, but as the old skin peels off the color becomes significantly lighter. I still gotta come in for a retouch in 2 mos, but after that the lady said it will last 1 – 3 yrs.
If you suffer from having really light eyebrows that look almost non-​existent, I highly suggest coming here.

«Eyebrow Tinting» — whoever created such thing was a genius!
I shade in my eyebrows every morning and it usually takes me about 10 minutes to get it to how I’d like it. I never considered tatooing my eyebrows either because from what I’ve seen on other people who has, it usually comes out super dark, crooked, and very unnatural. It even changes color over time — to GREEN too! Ew!
Then one day while out with a group of girlfriends, I noticed they all had their eyebrows done. They were all referred to Huong and all got their eyebrows «tinted.» Each of their eyebrows came out soooo natural looking and nice! Tinting is somewhat of a light temporary shading. It’s actually semi-​permanent tattooing but it doesn’t last forever and it fades in a year or less so you can always change the color and shape later on. Totally perfect for someone like me because over time, I’m sure I’d want to change my eyebrows.
So I gave it a shot and went to see Huong the next day. She didn’t ask me what shape I wanted or what color. She just drew a shape that she thought would match my face, asked if I liked it, and once I gave her the ok, the shading began. 10 minutes later, VOILA! Done! Really though, it was that quick and I was pretty shocked how fast the whole thing took placed. I wasn’t 100% happy with the shape after because it wasn’t exactly symmetrical but then again, it was just the first «fill.» She said to come back in 2 months so she could fill in more of it. She didn’t want to do it too dark just in case I wanted to change the thickness or color.
Overall, it still looks better than how I would normally draw my eyebrows daily so I was still satisfied. She charges $ 120 which also comes with a free re-​fill after 2 months. Very reasonable pricing! Saves me some extra time in the morning too since I no longer have to shade them in myself. It looks a lot more natural now — which was what I was aiming for. Hopefully after I get my re-​fill, I’ll be completely happy with the semi-​permanent eyebrow shading.

I normally don’t like to leave bad reviews but I feel that I have the responsibility to inform people about this place. I went to this place because my aunt had referred me here and said that she was a good eyebrow tattoo artist. I had an appointment with Huong and was early for my appointment. When I arrive there, I introduced myself and told the ladies in there I had an appointment. Some lady told me to go into a little room and told me to sit down on the bed and she started plucking my eyebrows and I saw a razor and she started shaving off my eyebrows without asking me if it was ok to do so or not. She didn’t even ask me what shape I wanted. Well, Apparently this person was NOT Huong, but another worker in there. So Huong walks in and takes over and pretty much hacks away at my eyebrow and shaves it off as well. She starts penciling in a shape on my brow and didn’t bother to ask me what shape I wanted. I didn’t like what she drew and was very upset that they had shaved my eyebrows off. I felt uncomfortable and was very upset and ended up NOT doing my eyebrows and walked out. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR! DO NOT COME HERE TO DO YOUR EYEBROWS

I was referred here by a friend as I told her I had an appointment to get my eyebrows tattooed in San Francisco, thinking she was hooking me up, They actually charged me $ 200, when really they charge $ 120. (YEAH WHAT A FRIEND). which she ended up pocketing the rest.
I am very unhappy with my eyebrows– they are nothing like I thought they would look like and the color is nothing like what i asked for, instead of brown there gray. I still have to color them in.

I got my eyebrows done a while back, before she even opened this store, so I’m assuming the price I was charged back then is no longer valid. I must say, she’s really good w/​hair and permanent make-​up. I usually get lots of compliment on my eyebrows. It’s very natural. Like everyone else, I really recommend getting your eyebrows done here by Huong. You’ll be surprise of the result. It’s painless, due to the help of the numbing cream and its fast. Trust me, in the end, you’ll be recommending others here as well.
She doesn’t talk to you much while she’s doing you’re eyebrows, but she’s usually talkative when she’s on her cellphone. Her cellphone rings constantly (due to constant clients call). By the way, you have to tell her how you want you’re eyebrows to be (shades, shapes, etc.), if not, she’ll just do your eyebrows how she wanted it to be. But in the end, you’ll have the most perfect natural looking eyebrows.
Oh yeah, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, she’s always packed w/​clients.

omg!!! i flipped out! I came here to do simple bridesmaid makeup and when Huong was done the makeup was sooo much prettier than most brides! I was even scared my makeup was nicer than THE BRIDE…
now i’m not saying i’m pretty, I’m saying she did an AWESOME job! If you’re getting married and want a good price for makeup and hair. this is the place to go. Definitely booking Huong for my wedding day :)
put it this way… it was me and another bridesmaid. She finished our hair AND makeup under an hour and a half. We got compliments ALL DAY!

I use to draw in my eyebrows everyday and it probably takes me about half an hour to make them somewhat symmetrical. I’ve considered getting them tattooed before but haven’t grown the balls until a couple of weeks ago. I came to HV Hair & Nails because a girl with nice eyebrows recommended it to me. She told me she does semi-​permanent tattoos, which is the main reason why I went… but she doesn’t, it’s permanent.
The tattooing process was extremely brief, which made me pretty skeptical about how my eyebrows turned out. I never caught the name of the esthetician because I don’t think she spoke a word to me, which played a part in my skepticism. Overall, the somewhat painful process took 10 minutes and voila! I had the most perfect pair of eyebrows ingrained on my face… forever hehe
It’s been 2 weeks now and the shade of my eyebrows lightened resulting to a very natural look. I believe this is the best 2010 decision I’ve made thus far. Everyone compliments on them, and I never have to draw them on again!
