Grace Deli and Café opened its doors as autumn settled into the Silicon Valley in 2011. Located in the Ernst and Young building in Downtown San Jose, Grace Deli aims to serve its customers gracefully, promptly, and individually. The menu is inspired by fresh ingredients, and each sandwich is tastefully handcrafted upon order. Warming homemade soups and vibrant (organic?) salads are also enjoyed in our clean and simple setting. We hope to create delicious food and an environment that will inspire a moment of respite in your busy schedule to nourish yourself.

This place is nicely tucked in the EY office building. It’s a nice 5 min walk from our office, so it’s a great alternative to the café food.
Grace is a very friendly and welcoming host. I usually get a sandwich/​soup combo. Their Chili is very very good and hearty! They’re panini’s are just delicious. I’ve had all of them and they’re all very good. Do ask for the dipping sauce if you like to dunk your panini like I do.
If you’re in the downtown area and craving a nice hot panini, give Grace a try!

My coworkers and I discovered this place about 2 weeks ago and have gone almost every day since. The food is fantastic! Fresh ingredients, homemade soups and bread, great prices, and great service. A great alternative to Specialty’s and not as expensive or crowded. The turkey Cobb melt is delicious!!!

If you can’t make Specialty’s then this is an alright location.
Last time I had a hot Reuben which left much to be desired.
This time, I kept it simple to a Turkey classic. Okay/​acceptable sandwich but my first bite is into ice-​cold meat…(at least, I know I won’t get food poisoning since everything is refrigerated???)

Very quick service and the prices are very reasonable. Much better place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch sandwich than some of the expensive places in San Jose. I had a breakfast sandwich with eggs and bacon along with a Coke and it was only $ 6. I am no longer making the walk down to McDonalds for something quick at breakfast.

Came over for a quick lunch during expo at the convention center. I hate overpaying for food at the Hilton or Marriott, which are the closest food place inside the convention center. But this deli is right outside off Almaden blvd and delightfully delicious without paying an arm & a leg. I got an awesome Reuben sandwich with a cup of potato corn chowder soup and green tea. I wished I could eat another sandwich it was so awesome. I’ll definitely be back again. My totally was close to $ 13, which is still a little more than I think is reasonable. However, this was fresher and more quantity than you pay for at either hotel.

When I do a show at the SJ Conv Ctr and get their early enough, I swing by here for a breakfast sandwich. Otherwise, I come by here for a wrap during lunch. There have a decent selection of wraps, paninis and sandwiches. Nothing extraordinary, but definitely better than the mass produced sandwiches you can get at the nearby subway.
This place is small, so definitely try to come before or after the lunch rush.

Good for on the go. Pretty standard café and the servers are nice and friendly. Not too impressed with their sandwiches but I do like their salad selection. I believe they have seasonal ones-​my personal favorite was the spinach salad with cranberries, Granny Smith apples and walnuts. Pricing is a little steep but when you’re starving, you can’t really be picky. Around $ 8 for a sizable salad and comparable to panera bread.

Small proper café style sandwich shop in the EY building. Sandwiches are put together nicely and consistently upon several visits. I get the same thing everytime and as far as food quality goes my 4 star review is for the Pepperchini chicken sandwich that I get without bacon (I don’t eat bacon). It is delicious! Nice, convenient, good service!

I rarely eat sandwiches when they’re not from Subway, but the Turkey Cobb and Grilled Chicken sandwiches here have to be the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The Focaccia bread is a perfect match to the amount of meat they put in the sandwich.

I love this little place! Conveniently located in downtown San Jose, I can see why it gets so busy during the lunch hour. Upon entering I noticed that this place had a nice look and feel to it; reminding me of my days in college when I would sit in a café all day long and study. I’ve had their clam chowder, chili, and Asian chicken salad, and all of them have hit the spot for me. What’s even better? The friendly staff that works there!
If I’m ever in the downtown area on a weekday, I for sure would like to stop by again.

A great little gem right across from the McEnery Convention Center. It’s a cute little café serving nice sandwiches, salads, and wraps. A pleasant change from the over priced food at the Hilton and Marriott which book-​end the Convention Center. The staff was nice, the food was freshly made to order, and my salad was excellent. I definitely recommend this sweet little place and sit outside to really get the full experience!

I think this is the 3rd name and 2nd owner in the past two years, but the changes have been almost transparent as the food seems pretty much the same. Good place for a quick breakfast sandwich, and I like sitting down in a place with several local police officers drinking coffee and getting ready to start their day. Grace gets extra points for being the only place around that sells Fiji water.

A great place to grab some coffee on the way into the office or on the way to light rail.
They’ve picked up the service and quality, which had slipped a bit under the previous owners. New as of about a week ago is Barefoot Coffee, for both the drip coffee and for espresso.

I can’t count how many times the name of this deli has changed. Nevertheless, it’s still a decent place to grab a quick bite to eat. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. I hope the menu changes to include more different items than it’s predecessors. Only time will tell.
