Golden Foot Spa

We have been thinking about getting a full body massage for a long time. We Unilocaled a few places and hubby wanted picked this place.
With ANY foot massage, we were careful in choosing places because of the famous «Happy Endings» lol
We walked in and it was dim with nice soothing music. Just a little light coming from a side door. There were massage beds on the floor, maybe about 10 or so next to each other in a row. And lightly curtained private rooms directly across from them, just a walkway to walk between them. We also brought our 9 year old daughter with us to relax and release tension from a 4 day family trip with our other 3 children. It was tough not to think of the private rooms doing illegal things, but honestly, we believe their legit.
We LOVED our massage. The warm water they placed our feet in was soothing enough. :) They did talk to each other in their language a few times, but most of it was because they thought my little girl was just so cute getting her full body massage and she has fell asleep. :) I am very easily pleased so that might have helped with the experience though. It was strange how my massage-​man stopped a few times and my daughter’s massage-​lady was a little behind me in time and my hubby’s never stopped but we all finished at the same time. But hey, what we thought was $ 35 per person for full body each person, it turned out to be $ 20. What a great deal! We gave them an extra $ 20 though because we felt relaxed and relieved of strains and stress. We will probably go back there again and we’ll go from there. But our first experience was great!

I should have read the reviews at Unilocal before going here. On a weekday night at about 9:00pm the two other foot massage places close to this one had about 40 min. wait time, so I thought I would give this one a try, no wait time and the place was pretty empty! that should have given me some indication about the quality. The whole time I was hearing a lot of giggling and chatting, the focus was not the massage. The lady was just applying a lot of pressure at all the wrong places and just gliding her fingers on the muscles where pressure was needed. She was inconsistent with the way she was massaging the two feet. The head one of a light scratch, for a whole 8 or so minutes, boring. I can keep going. Interestingly the guy who was massaging another guy right next to me seemed to be doing a great job, may be I got unlucky.

3.5stars. Solid Asian massage. definitely not meant for the weak. If you’re looking for a gentle Swedish massage veer very far away from this place. This is such a good deal for a foot massage that actually includes the whole body. I can’t believe how thorough they are here. For the price/​value and after hard week of work. this place definitely untightened my worn achy knots and muscles. I felt a little sore and bruised the next day but it was worth it. I called ahead to check their availability.
My only complaint is the slight worn smell when lying face down eventhough they give you a hygienic cloth. it still didn’t do for me. But $ 20 for nearly an hour of therapy is pretty unbeatable.

Half ass massages
Owner or manager lady behind the desk wit the black tatted brows (who gave my cousin a massage) kept yapping to her workers so the one who did my massage and my other friend’s massage had no choice but to converse with her.
Customers kept coming in like 2 or 3 of them (each at a different time) and I just hear them talking… Obviously these women are busy cause there’s only 3 of them here! And she SAID come back at 3:45… How many times does a bish* gotta repeat herself though? Yall disturbing our session, or this place is so lame that they only have 2 workers and one manager to work at one shift?
The last guy that came was either a customer or a worker cause they kept talking some more and I even lifted my head up 3 times to see wtf is all this noise?!
The last time I lifted up my head up was to actually tell them to «shut uuuuup». I then plop my head back down, more Chinese yapping continues …
The chick that massaged me even tore/​ripped part of the side of my ear lobe from rubbing it too hard like wtf? My ears weren’t sore until yall start babbling during our fuckin session. All of us agreed they scratched or scalps more than actually focusing on put pressure points. The scalp massage wasn’t even an actual massage btw, it was more like lightly scratching our heads –_​– if I wanted someone to scratch my head, I’d live with a monkey.
What also irritated me was after she scrape the shit out of the edge of my ears, she touched my face!!! I felt two fat zits coming on later on that day and the morning after, bam… Sore ass bulbs were on my face. Ugh
Cheap, yes; but honestly, just don’t bother. I should’ve stuck to other places nearby for the same price. You can just tell when a place is good when it ain’t so dead and more than 2 workers are working. And the owner or manager saves herself a worker by providing her own half ass service…
Oh to top it off, my friend paid and tipped. The look on her face was priceless, she was staring at the amount he left for he three of them ($ 8 each). But she had the balls to mumble or say some shit right after to the other women. At least he had the decency to tip yall yappin asses.

Wow what a great massage. Also very good prices. For sure would come back. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ service, ambiance, and massage. I loooooooooove everything about this place. If I could come here every day I would. But sadly I can’t, I can only come once a week. Also I come after 10:30 PM Thursday for that cheap deal for a great foot massage. My feet never felt so good after a hard week of work. But this deal isn’t only Thursdays, it’s Monday through Thursday! Dude you can get a hella great foot massage for hella cheap four days a week! Go crazy guys!

Good quality massage for cheap. People who complain about hard massage are just wusses, you can always tell them to go soft, which they’ll understand. Anyway, I visit this place regularly and get the 6 for $ 100 deal, only $ 16 an hour and you can go anytime.
If you come at 10:30 for the 11.99 special you need to book ahead of time. Not worth it I think because it’s too crowded, just buy the package and visit during off hours.
They do have a little chihuahua dog but he rarely makes any noise, usually just sleeps in the back room.

I always have to come here every other week now bc they give the best massages $ 20 for one hour. Hell yea! I always ask for CINDY. She is the best :)

Can I just say one word… Ow.
I had the most painful massage ever. Not only was the masseuse rough. He didn’t know how to massage. Everything he did was painful. I usually prefer a rough masseuse but this time I felt beaten up. As if my face expression and me flinching the whole time didn’t give him a hint. 30 mins in, I just kept thinking the next set would be good. No. It sucked from beginning to end. Normally head massages are the best but he scratched my scalp so long and hard I felt as if my hair was falling out… And to top it off he kinda pulled my hair. Which was new… And You know how they massage your fingers and toes and flick it in between their fingers at the end? Yea. I felt as if they were ripping off my limps. It hurt so fucking bad! I have a feeling I’m going to bruise up tomorrow. When I booked the appointment I thought I was booking tully foot spa since barefeet was full (all in the same plaza). All I can say is. Never again will I go to golden foot spa. First time ever I’ve experienced a bad masseuse! First time ever.

I’m updating my review. The massage was pretty good but I heard a man getting a «happy ending» in the curtained off room. At first I tried to pretend the noises were just because of a good massage but then he started to talk telling the lady what to do. Disgusted.

I used to like this place. Maybe I caught it in a bad day but after reading Miriam’s review it seems it’s just how they roll.
Talking the whole damn time as if they talking mess in a nail shop! Isn’t this supposed to be quiet and relaxing. People came in inquiring about a massage and they practically laughed at some mexican man cause of how he talked. I’m Mexican and that’s not why I was offended but still…
This fool straight farted 2 times during the massage! I am all good with an accident while working but 2 times? It’s just how he rolls… I was annoyed as f!

I told them before I left that they talk too much and it’s rude to make fun of people. I told him to give me back 10 out of my 40 cause I waaas gona tip him. Massaging is hard! There’s no reason to go to this place. Here in San Jose, there’s such a wealth of wonderful immigrant-​based health facilities. You can get Chinese acupuncture for $ 50, chiropractic for 30, and an out of this world foot spa massage for 20. Most of the folks who work in these places (who are almost exclusively Asian immigrants) really know their way around the human body and are interested in promoting healing. So why waste your time and money at a place like Golden Spa which is dirty, smelly, noisy, and gives crappy massages?
I get a foot spa massage every couple weeks, and feel truly blessed that this resource exists for so cheap. My go to places are Foot Lax and Sisters Foot Spa. I’m never going to Golden Spa again.
Unlike the other foot spas that strive to create a peaceful atmosphere, this place had a DOG in the next room, barking incessantly and howling in misery. He poked his head into the main massage room a couple times and barked, the workers just laughed. The workers holler at each other from across the room, no hushed voices at this place. The carpet is smelly and dirty. There’s a bar or something similarly noisy next door, and gangbangers hang out in the parking lot out front.
My massage was a bad combination of too light, and too rough. My masseuse had long fingernails which poked me. She spent a lot of time fluffing her hair. She did weird things like pull on my right big toe about 25 times (not that the left one felt out). I asked her three times for more pressure (and she understood; I mimed it and she said «OK OK push more»). But it was light, except for when she got to the shiatsu (hitting) part, then it was bruisingly hard. She massaged like someone who hates her job, and I can see why, I was waiting for ten minutes while she finished up the previous customer, so she got no break… or chance to wash her hands…
Two stars instead of one because it’s still phenomenal that you can get a massage for $ 12!!! I tipped 5 instead of my usual 8 because it was disappointing. But it was still marginally better than no massage at all. ;)

This is the worst massage place I have ever been to!
Came there, chick didn’t know any english, so she didn’t understand what I was trying to say.
I paid for a «full body massage» when I only asked to focus solely on my upper shoulders and below my neck area.
She elbowed me the whole time, she applied lotion on me ONCE and did the rest of the work lotion free!!! I was in pain!!!
Better yet, SHE WAS TALKING ON THE PHONE for a couple of minutes while she was massaging me!
She DID NOT give me the «full body» treatment… no hot stones whatsoever.
I have never waited for a massage to be as quickly over as possible.
My boyfriend also got a massage and stated the guy that massaged his back was the worst masseuse he has ever had, too!
Trust me, I have been to allllll sorts of massage places you could think of. Ghetto or non ghetto places.
Results: I was in more pain than I was before I went to get the massage. Next day, I woke up with bruises in my back!

Used to be a really good massage place in our area, that’s full of massage parlors. Recently visited and had to wait for someone to greet us in a place that’s completely empty except for the 5 workers. Upon walking in one worker was sleeping on a massage table, three others were in a back room eating just staring at us, and the other tried to help us but didn’t speak a lick of English. Woke the women that was sleep she came over frustrated like we just ruined her nap ! Saying they don’t do specials on Sunday’s Tuesday’s and Thursday’s ! Rolled her eyes ! Shook her head ! Instead of offering us to look at something else she gave us and unpleasant feeling we just left ! Even tho we wanted a massage and wouldn’t have mind paying extra ! #question WHO THE HELL OWNS THIS PLACE

I just came home from a perfectly fine one hour of cheap pampering. I’ve noticed this place a while back but never really paid attention to it until today.
With the prices places like this offers it’s a miracle you will be very pleased with their technique. So I walked in with an open mind and promised myself that I’ll start with their foot reflexology to test the waters. I was ready to just get some much «kneaded» non expert massage but was pleasantly surprised to experience a really enjoyable one!
The lady that welcomed me can speak English just fine. My lady Lucy on the other hand has such a big language barrier that we didn’t communicate verbally at all. What she lacked in the English dept she made up for in her massage technique. I will definitely go back to see her again. Anyways they all seemed solid. I watched for a few minutes while they were getting my area ready.
So $ 20/​hr and a tip of $ 10’was what hardworking Lucy deserved. I mean she took a five minute break in between me and the first customer. I like her!
Close to me. Lots of parking. No up selling of any sorts. Whew!

Great Massage. The Foot massage is a full body treat! Definitely worth the price. Relaxing and clean setting. Staff was friendly and able to accommodate our party of 4 with a hour notice. Affordable indulgence on vacation.

I’ve been here 3 times and every time each masseuse has been better than the one before. $ 20 dollars is the best deal you will get for such an amazing massage. The place is very clean and the ambiance is very relaxing. The staff is very friendly and professional.
Out of all massage places i’ve been to, this is the BEST!

One star cus she got me the pillow so that’s head can be higher a bit. At first, I ask her to pull the front chair up a bit so that I can feel comfortable, not sure if she understand or not but she said loud:” NO”. Then I ask why and the girl who works at the front come and help her to pull the chair and give a pillow.
Then she started to massage. She and the lady who massage my BF keep talking none stop in Chinese, not cool, we want to relax ladies. Then she loosing the pressure cus she has to talk. Then all sudden she said: ok, done, what the heck, my BF has his before me but the lady still massage him and I was start after and done before him? This is not cool. ;(

I just came home from visiting this spa with my mom, and I am a very happy customer. This is my second time coming to this place, and I can tell you I will definitely be returning.
Why do I rave about this place? This is probably the cheapest massage you can find and for the quality, it is well worth the money. If you visit on a weekday after 10:30pm, the full-​body massage is only $ 11.99. So go ahead. Treat yourself after a long day at work, guilt-​free! But be warned, this place is gaining popularity so you might have to wait about 10 – 20 minutes.
The place isn’t very big: a dim-​lit room with red painted walls and about 10 – 15 massage beds lined row-​by-​row. You would think it’d be awkward, but everyone is so relaxed they’re practically asleep. They play instrumental music to set the mood, but unfortunately, if you go at night, you can hear the terrible cai luong karaōke from the Vietnamese coffee shop next door.
My mom and I got a full body massage. I didn’t catch the name of my masseuse, though I wish I did. She was delightful. She started me off by having me soak my feet in a warm water bath as she lightly massaged my neck (I expect many customers have grimy, smelly feet) and back to loosen up my very tense back muscles. She then laid me face-​up on my back and massaged my face, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, quads and feet. I would suggest wearing shorts or thin pants (like leggings) if you plan on getting the full experience. My first time, I wore jeans and getting a calf massage with jeans on just isn’t the same.
After my entire body was relaxed, she turned me over for a face-​down massage. Let me tell you, they place a bucket at the bottom of the massage pad for a reason. The face-​down portion was so good, I was practically drooling. She rolled her elbows over my shoulder, back, arms, butt, quads, and calves. At one point, my masseuse straddled me to give me this amazing butt massage.
I died. The butt is the largest muscle in the body, why did I never think to get that massaged before? She ended with this amazing head massage where she ruffled all of my hair and handed me a cup of tea afterwards.
Before the massage I was suffering from deep shoulder knots and lower back pain from sleeping on the couch/​floor for a couple of weeks, and usually my knots are too tenacious for the average joe. I hate it when people lightly caress my muscles and call that a massage. My masseuse had the right touch: quick and firm, with more emphasis on my shoulders and neck muscles. My body is really happy right now!
I highly recommend coming to this place. Don’t forget to tip!

$ 11.99 for an hour-​long full-​body massage!!! But only during happy hour, I believe either from 10:00 p.m. or 10:30p.m.-11:00 p.m. Sound too good to be true? It kind of is, depending on who you get for a masseuse. You may get the well-​trained masseuse who’s got that strong arm to roll over your knots like a sturdy rolling pin, or you may get the one who thinks she might break you even though her touch is like a butterfly. Lucky for me as of late, I have always gotten rather the better end of the stick when going out with V, and I’ve gotten the more experienced experts with either my nails or my body.
I also like to request for females as they go full-​body massage and it’s great and a bonus to have a strong female masseuse who has just the right touch that doesn’t sushi dice the hell out of your body but doesn’t lightly caress you either. I had a winner!
A lot of the masseuses here speak minimal English, my ethnicity is Cantonese and Vietnamese and I always confuse and interchange a bunch of words together. My darned Cantonese fused with the limited Mandarin I learned in college and very minimal Mandarin I took away in my peewee years, so I ended up saying «Bu Yao Mian,» which literally means, «don’t want noodles.» In my defense., HOWEVER, «meen» in Cantonese means face. In essence, I tried saying «I don’t want my face to be massaged or touched with oils (no pimples or clogged pores please) but ending up saying «I don’t want noodles,» leaving my masseuse with a dumb-​founded look on her face. At first I thought she was weird for giving me that look, but later found out I said «face» wrong. *facepalm* DAT EMBARASSMENT DOE!
I’ve seen a phase of so many different types of stores popping up, and I can’t even begin to imagine the kind of competition every business has to go through, trying to beat each other out with pricing and the quality of service (the very beginning bona shop wave. frozen yogurt shop wave, macaron shop wave, etc). Must be extremely tough!
Don’t be a butt wipe and skimp on tipping, though, they work hard and do manual labor for an hour straight to pamper you!
Will return once in a while during happy hour when my body is torturing me after work-​outs!
