Eric Kallio Contractor

We live in Willow Glen and hired Eric Kallio in early 2015 to gut and remodel our kitchen, add a small addition, add a bathroom, and gut and remodel an existing bathroom. Quite a big job! I interviewed and got pricing from several contractors and ultimately chose Eric. He sold us on his energy and responsiveness. And during construction, he did not disappoint. He is great at communicating. When we had questions, he went into detail to make sure we understood the issues. He provided options and alternatives when we wanted to change something or ran into an unforeseen issue. He was prompt and reliable, which is a very valuable trait when selecting a contractor. He also took great care of our home and us during the remodel. We decided to stay in the home during construction, and Eric built a temporary wall to keep our young son out of harm’s way. He also cleaned the jobsite at the end of every day. He provided recommendations and advice during construction, which we greatly appreciated. He even helped me select my appliances! We also liked all the sub-​contractors Eric uses. All were very respectful and hard working. And Eric was present and checking their work, occasionally having them re-​do items that did not meet his high standards. He also regularly went above and beyond his job duties; bringing in packages, helping us move furniture and helping us pick up fixtures.
I can’t recommend Eric more. Everyone who enters our home is so impressed with the workmanship and detail, even our Contractor friends! And we love our new home. It’s our most important asset and I am so happy we worked with Eric on our remodel. We have some additional work planned down the road and wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again!

Eric was so great with our kitchen and bathroom that we hired him to build and repair an old deck. Eric’s eye of detail and expertise made for a beautiful redwood deck. Eric did most of the work himself along with another worker. It is great having the contractor there all the time to make sure the job is done correctly.

Called him this morning to see if he could come out to my elderly Mothers home for a repair and he stated he was moving and couldn’t get to it for a couple months.

This was the first time I had ever remodeled a home and working with Eric was such a great experience. After talking to many contractors, we decided to use Eric. He was the only one who was willing to give us ideas on how to design our kitchen and bathroom. Initially we had asked Eric to do the kitchen and bathroom, but we ended up asking him to do most of the house! All his referrals that I called were spot on, on his work ethic. He was always on time to the job, showed up everyday no matter how small or big the job was and earned your trust during the whole process. I would highly recommend Eric for any remodel.

The best contractor one could hope for. We did a kitchen remodel last year. He helped us with some design decisions as well. We left our keys with him and went away to O’Ahu for a week. He started and finished the job dot on time. Some appliances arrived after we were gone — he signed for all of them. He even picked up our dishwasher from Sears free of charge.

I just recommended Eric to a friend, and came here, thinking there would be a lot more recommendations for him. I guess I should have written something about him a LONG time ago. He put in a brand new bathroom for us in 1996… helped us with the design aspects even and had lots of good ideas. He put a bathroom in where there was nothing… a brand new addition far away from sewer pipe and water. But he made it happen. And the bathroom came out better than I could have dreamed. It STILL looks cool and gets guests commenting about how much they like it. So do we.
Then, in 2010 our 2^nd bathroom desperately needed remodeling. It was over 40 years old! We were happy to find Eric again and sign him up. As with the first time, we were not disappointed. He got the job done on schedule, communicated well with us, gave us options and double checked to make sure we were happy with things before things got «nailed down». And the result? Well, like the first time, it turned out better than in my dreams. We absolutely love it. Some of the photos of our 2010 remodel are even on his website and we are grateful.
We wouldn’t hesitate to work with Eric again. Everything that Gary S., the 11÷20÷11 review, is spot on. Eric is a contractor who is fun to work with, knows his stuff and gets how unnerving it feels to the homeowner to have things torn up. Extra efforts were taken to keep things cleaned so that at the end of every day I could look at the progress, rather than the mess.
Give him a call. You won’t regret it.

Let me start out by saying that I’m amazed nobody has left a review for Eric here since Mark’s 3−½ years ago. A contractor as good as Eric should have way more reviews than this! Anyway, Eric just finished a relatively small project for us, upgrading our bathrooms with new (0.8 gallons per flush — AWESOME! — ask Eric) toilets, new fixtures for sinks and showers, new porcelain tile flooring, and new paint. No big deal, but the way he completed this job has guaranteed he’ll be doing future projects for us. Here’s what we liked about Eric: he was punctual; he called ahead to confirm he was on his way over; he worked quickly and efficiently but with great attention to detail; he left everything neat and clean at the end of the day. He clearly knew his stuff; he was knowledgeable about and experienced at what he was doing; and he helped us understand why he did things as he did. .) Finally, Eric was easy and fun to work with; his friendliness and good sense of humor made what might’ve been a stressful, traumatic experience with other contractors actually enjoyable. We definitely look forward to using Eric’s company in the future.

After working with many contractors in the process of remodeling our home, we finally hit the jackpot with Eric. He specializes in bathrooms, kitchens, remodels, and upgrades and is worth every penny he charges. He strives to make you happy with your choices and upon request, will give you his opinion. We found his opinions to be better than our choices for certain issues that came up. He was pleasant to work with, ALWAYS ON TIME (can you say that about any other contractor?), and extremely trustworthy. Whem we did run into a snag, Eric was quick to work with us to resolve the issue. He uses patience, experience, skills, and intuition to address concerns that may come up. We will DEFINITELY use him for all other remodeling opportunities.
